Welcome to the tropical, lush, windward side of Hawaii's Big Island. This rental is a private condo style well-stocked apartment in the downstairs portion of our home. This is true oceanfront with 180-degree ocean views. You can see all the way to Hilo and the top of Mauna Kea while sitting by your private in-ground pool. We do not have a beach directly in front of our home but we are very near to beaches and well known geo-thermal hot ponds. It is a wonderful location to whale watch (December to April). At night you can hear the whales singing. Year round turtles, dolphins, and other marine life, plus cruise ships, passing by keep the view always interesting. Coffee on the lanai as you see the sun rise over the ocean is magical as the light dances on the ocean waves! Rainbows over the water and the evening colors are what we love so much and never tire of.
This rental is directly on the ocean with a private spacious unit in the downstairs of our large, new, two-story home. You have the lower level with the swimming pool directly outside your private spacious lanai and private entrance. There are two bedrooms, both with ocean view - one with a king-sized bed and the other with two twin beds. We could arrange for a fifth person, if needed. The kitchen/lounge area includes a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender, fry pan, double hot plate, coffee maker, all utensils, and condiments. On the lanai is a lava rock barbecue. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries, towels, and linens. The washer and dryer is in the laundry room, next to the the kitchen and includes iron, ironing board, and laundry supplies.
There are two TVs with satellite reception. One in the king-sized bedroom and the second in the lounge area. Each TV has a DVD player connected and we have a large selection of movies and documentaries. Off from the family area is a computer connected to a high-speed, DSL, wireless network so you can check your e-mail or browse the Internet at any time. You have a private phone line for your local calls with your own answering machine.
We can offer advice and directions to any of the wonderful things to see in this area. The volcano, hot ponds, black sand beaches, world-class snorkeling, waterfalls, steam vents, and many other treasures of the area. If you just want to relax, a nap in the hammock listening to the ocean waves or a massage by the sea can be arranged.
We are convenient to Hilo airport and can send you maps via e-mail. There is shopping and restaurants in nearby Pahoa, Keauu, and Hilo.
Due to 30 foot cliffs overlooking the ocean and the corresponding danger - we do not recommend this rental for people with young children. The rental unit, its contents and pool are exclusively for registered guests only.
Arrivals 3:00 PM or after. 10:00 AM departure unless other arrangements have been made.
