About this property

Quiet Countryside...but just a few minutes from town!!

Clean, comfortable house on 3 acres located just a few minutes from the town of East Glacier Park. This cozy (yet roomy!) three bedroom, two bathroom manufactured home is in a quiet countryside location with wonderful Glacier National Park views. Wilderness just steps from the back door! Located midway between the East and West entrances to the Going-to-the-Sun Road (a 45 minute drive to either entrance, so offers a perfect "loop" drive location), this is an excellent base from which to explore the Park. The Two Medicine Valley entrance is only 20 minutes away.* *

The large Master Bedroom has a Queen Bed and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms (both with Queen Beds) share the hallway bathroom. Each of the two full bathrooms include double sinks, a toilet, a large Garden Tub and separate showers.

Two couches (one a pull-out sleeper) in the Living Room provide extra sleeping options (inquire with owner re: accommodating more than 6 people, on a case-by-case basis; additional fees will apply). The large Living/Dining/Kitchen area provides plenty of sunny space for the family to hang out. A picnic table lets you enjoy outdoor dining.

**PLEASE NOTE: Due to increasing visitation, Glacier National Park has implemented a Ticketed Reservation system for some of the roads in the Park, including the Going to the Sun Road. These reservations are IN ADDITION to the regular Park Pass required to get into the Park. Please visit the Park's official website and familiarize yourself with the most up-to-date information so you can secure tickets as soon as possible for the dates you desire; details/regulations may change, year-to-year, as the Park fine-tunes the system, so make sure to check back regularly. (This is all new to me, too, so I can't confidently/accurately answer questions re: this; please contact the Park directly with any questions.)

The House is better than perfect!
Thank You so much Beth for letting us stay at your house. We loved the location that is so close to Two Medicine 15 min but to the lodge only 3 min, post office 2 min drive we sent post cards Wed Am on Fri all reached destination! 15 min to Browning where You can buy all your necessities , 30 min to St Mary VC and 45 to Many Glacier. House had everything our group need it. Comfy beds , kitchen , dining room, laundry room and some critters aka fox, birds, deers passing by. I found out that the most dangerous animals in the East side of the park are Free Range Black Cows that are waiting for You in the middle of the road after sunset when You are coming back from the park, so please be careful! With absolutely no doubt I will stay here again if coming again with friends or family, because that I will be back on Glaciers trails is more than sure.

Great time in this quiet, rural house!
We had a great time here at East Glacier! Even with one rainy day, we still made the best of it. House is well stocked. Love the old furnace (although we couldn't use it due to high fire hazard). The left turn from Hwy 2 to come to this house is something people have to watch out for - our first day we turned on the blinker very early and slowed down slowly, but still almost had an accident as the car behind us didn't slow down! Also, just be aware water power is low - almost couldn't have more than one person taking a shower! Other than these, everything was great!

We have lived in East Glacier Park since 1993, where we raised our two children and have loved being part of this incredibly special community. I was raised "all over" as a Navy Brat (but came to Montana for college in 1983 and finally found my true home) and Pat is a born-and-raised Anaconda, Montana boy. We fell in love with Glacier National Park when we both began working as summer seasonal Park Rangers in 1986, after we graduated from Western Montana College. I worked in the Park for 10 seasons, and the summer of 2024 will mark Pat's 38th year as a Glacier National Park Ranger Naturalist! Pat wrote a book with stories about life as a Park Ranger called "Seasonal Disorder" that has delighted many-a-visitor, so let us know if you'd like to get a copy when you visit and he can personally autograph it for you! (You can buy from us directly or pick up a copy from the Glacier Park Trading Co. general store in town.) Pat is a Middle School teacher/Dean of Students in the non-summer months and I have done a bit of this and that over the years, including restaurant and motel owner/operator, janitor, elder-care and animal (both domestic and wild!) rescue and fostering. We love being able to provide this vacation home to give others the chance to discover and enjoy this incredibly special area.

Why they chose this property

When friends offered to sell us this cute place, we were so excited and jumped at the chance! We had always wanted to get a "place in the country," and this location, being just a few minutes outside of town, was ideal. It's quiet and scenic, but so close for running in to the store or to hang out with friends at the counter of the Two Medicine Grill (my favorite past-time!) Our property sits right on the edge of wild, undeveloped lands so there's a chance of seeing any of the area's endemic wildlife passing through the property. (Grizzly Bears, Black Bears, Wolves, Mountain Lions, Lynx, Bobcats, and Moose have all been seen from the house!) The marvelous views of the mountains sweeping onto the prairie exhibit exactly why Montana is known as "Big Sky Country."

What makes this property unique

Everyone says they love how peaceful and quiet it is out here, but love the fact that they can get in their car and be in town within a few minutes. People appreciate its location in relation to the two main park entrances and its proximity to the Two Medicine Valley.
