Spend endless hours on the tiled lanai (patio) watching the dancing waters of the sea spray and countless waveforms, outrigger canoes, sailboats, surfers, fishermen, sea turtles and even the occasional whale's tail.
At night you'll be lulled to sleep by the nearby surf as the Makapuu Lighthouse winks in the distance. If you're really lucky, you might get to see a moonrise, but a spectacular sunrise is a more common event from the direction of the prevailing Tradewinds.
Mark Twain called the Hawaiian Islands "the loveliest fleet of islands anchored in any ocean" and Hale Honu is situated only 15 minutes away from what he described as "the world's best view." Kailua is rated as the world's best walking beach, and Kapoho Point is the sacred ground where King Kamehameha the Great gathered his chiefs at the edge of the "kaimalino" (peaceful sea).
