Warm cottage, comfortable bed. Pub next door friendly and good food. When weather warmer you can sit outside near the water, unfortunately it was cold and wet for us.
Checking in was very easy, parking was just behind the cottage. The cottage is small, comfortable has a good shower, is warm and had everything we needed for our stay. The pub next door, Cape of Good Hope, served delicious food, with friendly staff on hand if we had any problems, we didn't, all good

A really warm and welcoming home. Just like home from home. Very cosy and warm when the nights were cold. You’re not too far from many great places to visit. The pub is right next door and also the canal so many lovely walks can be had. Very impressed with everything in the cottage. The whole house and surrounding area has plenty of character.
Had trouble finding the cottage, Local Council needs to improve signage and stop all the roadworks and diversions! Once found, the cottage was delightful and the pub next door a gem - ate there every night! Had one small problem but it was dealt with professionally, promptly and politely - Many thanks to Tom and Dave.
The cottage is perfectly located for a relaxing but interesting break. The front garden is a step from the tow path and once inside the true character of the cottage becomes apparent. The small kitchen was ideal for our 3 day break, especially with such wonderful food next door at the Pub. We spent a lot of time watching the water and the lock but we were also able to walk to the castle both the direct way and the scenic way along the canal and river. The manager was friendly and always recognized and greeted us. Everyone was extremely helpful when I had a transport problem after our stay.
The stairs could be problematic for older visitors but otherwise the cottage is great. We were friends who were meeting halfway between our properties and I am sure that it will become a regular stay for us.
Property logistics were easy and convenient. Steve, Tom, Claire and other staff of the Cape of Good Hope Pub were friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond by assisting with transportation arrangements when our phones had glitches. We took great advantage of the 10% discount offered to cottage guests by the pub. WiFi in the cottage was good. The cottage tested our athletic abilities due to narrow, steep stairs. By the end of our stay we could navigate them even after an "intense" gin-tasting session at a local distillery. The owners responded to our questions in a timely manner. The bedding was comfortable, and amenities offered by the canal-side cottage suited our needs perfectly. Great location for dining and shopping opportunities. We recommend Fergie's Canal-side Cottage whole-heartedly.
This is a great place to stay. Right on the canal and right next to The Cape of Good Hope pub which has a nice beer selection and some lovely food. The Moules Frites was exceptional as was the pizza.
For the average person the statins can be a challenge😊 especially to the top bedroom.
Close enough to the town centre to walk - less than a mile. - plus a Co-Op is right around the corner and a Sainsbury’s within easy walking distance.
One small suggestion. The listing mentions two bathrooms. This is a little misleading as one is a bath and shower/ and hand basin, while the other is a toilet/ and hand basin. For our American cousins this might have to be explained!
However, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’ll deserved five star review. We would rebook in a heartbeat.
Very nice but if there was a fire at the property (front) you would be stuck as the rear door is permanently locked and no key. Also in the welcome pack is say check out is 11 but you get a email on the morning say check out is 10 🤔🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
One of the best finds! Tucked away on the canal next to a great pub. Easy walk to town centre. Locals are friendly. House not really equipped to cook at home but with a great pub and food right next door this was not an issue. Beds are comfy and loved sitting in our courtyard but feeling we are in the pub garden. Great service all round!
We are already planning a trip back!
We stayed in the cottage for four nights as a couple with our 16 year old son. The cottage although small was well equipped and comfortable. The location was perfect right on the canal with a lovely pub next door. We ate here two nights of our stay the food was really good as was the staff they were so helpful and friendly. Location was great Warwick Town a 20 minute stroll away. We visited Warwick Castle, which was a great day out. Stratford upon Avon a 20 minutes drive loved it here too we hired a boat visited the shops and sat in a 1940s tea room. We also visited West Midlands safari park about an hours drive away which was fab too. Emma and Steve are great hosts they are very helpful and reply to messages promptly.
Nothing to fault. House was spotless and very well equipped with lovely toiletries and hand sanitiser. Staff in the pub next door were lovely and welcoming. Had a wonderful 4 nights.
Area was great next to a pub, run by the owners. River front was beautiful. Had a great time exploring and talking to narrow boat owners. WiFi was not working when we were there. Great stay and really friendly people.
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Nice walk along the canal to Warwick, but only short drive too if weather not good. Hosts were helpful and I received plenty of updates by text prior to arriving
Had a really lovely weekend, loved watching the canal boats go by. It would of been good to have a fan as temperature reached 32 deg , but this isn’t a complaint, just unusual heat . Thank you for a lovely Cottage break
