Gränsar till Burr Oak State Park vid Dock Area # 2, det är en underbar tillflyktsort för familjer, vänner, par eller jaktfester. Få alla fördelarna med State Park och 664 tunnland sjö medan du njuter av din egen privata bostad. Denna stuga med 2 sovrum ligger i ett lugnt skogsområde vid sjön och ligger en kort bilresa till en liten stad med restauranger, bensinstationer och livsmedelsbutiker. Great Cabin Getaway

We stayed here for a chill camp themed bachlorette party- and it was wonderful! Lots to explore in the area and the house was the perfect landing spot. Hot tub was clean and a nice way to end the evenings. Mark and Emma are great hosts!

Best Birthday Weekend

We stayed here for my birthday getaway. We had the best time. We barely were in the cabin. If we weren’t sitting in the hot tub after the day of trail riding on the 4 wheeler we were sitting out on the back deck enjoying the peace and the view. We brought our dog and she loved it as well exploring all of the surroundings. We are going back for Christmas and I can’t wait. Mark was an amazing host.

Lake cottage in the woods

Fisherman’s Cottage is cute and comfortable. A short walk in the woods took us to Burr Oak Lake where we kayaked and paddleboarded. The host is a very good communicator!

Cute and quiet lake cottage

We had a great little getaway at this lakeside cottage. Walk down to the lake and docks right from the backyard, porch overlooking the woods/lake, and a comfortable sunroom to play games or watch a movie. Host was very friendly and helpful - Thank you!

Served our needs perfectly

Worked out very well for us! Great area and house is as described. There have obviously been mice in the downstairs living room area but it is a fishing cabin so no big deal for us. The hot tub was great for some back pain relief! Thanks for the stay!

Just what we were looking for

This was the perfect place to stay to escape for a while. The location is out of the way enough to feel like you're hidden in a cabin in the woods. The big entertainment space downstairs was a perfect spot to relax during the day and at night, the view of the stars through the silhouette of the trees overhead was breathtaking. A good property for a few close friends or family members to hide away for a bit.

Perfect little getaway!

The cottage was everything we could have asked for and more! We spent mornings drinking coffee and making breakfast in the (very well supplied) kitchen, afternoons and evenings exploring the surrounding areas, and nights were spent in the hot tub and around a campfire making s’mores. The sleeping accommodations were comfortable, and we utilized the sunroom more than any other part of the interior! Mark & Emma were so friendly when we met them while renting our pontoon. Can’t recommend this property or it’s owners enough!

Definitely a fishermen's cabin

We were up to go to Burr Oak lake for the weekend, and this was one of the few places in Burr Oak that allowed animals. Small, but didn't seem that small because of the layout. Mark was very nice and helpful.

Great time here.

The property was exactly what we wanted and what was advertised! We had a great time along bigger than it looks when you pull up. It had everything we needed. Mark an Emma were great hosts. Took care of everything. We needed total swear to buy the live Bait and even Had a boat for us to rent. It was a great time start to finish. Would definitely go back.

Loved it!!!

We had such a fun time at Mark’s place! They kindly left some essentials for us (paper towels, Various spices, etc) which was so nice of them. The hot tub rocked, the surroundings were quiet and relaxing, the electronics were all working perfect. The house was spacious and the decor was so homey and comfortable. Everything was on point, we’d love to come back!

Impressed!

Came down for a fall fishing trip and this was a great place for it. Cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay (even coffee!). Close to the dock so it was easy to get our boat in the water. It's a beautiful lake and in two days of fishing, never saw another person on the lake! We are hoping to make a return trip. Tell the fish we're coming back to get them!

A Little Getaway

The cabin is cozy and well equipped. While there isn’t a direct path from the back of the cabin to the lake, we were able to hike thru the woods to the lake without a problem. Nice deck and hot tub but we were unable to enjoy a fire because of the rain. Easy drive to the Burr Oak Lodge and hiking trails. Overall, we had an enjoyable time and thanks for allowing us to stay here.

Excellent hideout!

This cottage is a great escape--quiet, green (in Aug.), and cozy without being cramped. The grill, deck, hot tub, and bonfire pit would have kept us occupied enough for a few days retreat, but we went out onto the lake, too. Note that you can't actually see the lake from the house, at least in summer, but short drives will get you to the docks, the lodge, the beach, etc. We highly recommend renting a pontoon boat for an afternoon. Mark's communication was great--he also rents kayaks if you want them.

Nice but misleading...

The lake is not visible... maybe in winter. It's a 5 minute drive to the lake. It's not on the lake. The lone window air conditioner was not enough for the whole cottage. Cute place to stay. Did not like that we had to pay per day to use the hot tub. We used it one day but paid for 3 days.

Perfect Place for Quality Time Connecting!

My boyfriend and I came down here to celebrate my birthday and our two year anniversary. This cottage was the perfect place for a weekend of quality time! We loved having the full kitchen and grill, as we typically prefer to cook over eating out. The hot tub was perfect for the two of us, we saw the reviews saying they wished it was more private so we just brought our small canopy! Our first morning there I walked downhill from the cottage to the docks and was able to actually meet Mark as he was setting off on a pontoon. Emma was incredibly friendly and helpful as well, and even let us meet their gorgeous dog! We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to truly relax and spend some uninterrupted time with eachother. They have a couple other properties nearby as well! We will certainly be back!

Varför värden valde detta boende

The Burr Oak region is a hidden gem. Not too far from shopping, and close enough to Ohio University to commute on a daily basis, this cottage was calling to us. We purchased it in 2013 and have since totally renovated it from floor to ceiling. Mark took elements from the log cabin he grew up in and incorporated into the renovation.
