About this property

The apartment opens onto the garden of our Edwardian house, above the old town of Hastings. The main bedroom has a comfortable four poster bed, the second bedroom has four poster bunk beds!
The flat has a modern kitchen including dishwasher, a bathroom with walk-in shower and a lovely living room with French windows and a cosy ‘living coal’ gas fire to warm you after a bracing autumn walk. The apartment is ideal for four people but the sofa in the living room converts into a small double bed for one or possibly two.

There’s lots to do in and around Hastings. The old town, the seafront and the country park are all just a short walk away, so whether you fancy antique hunting, beach combing or blustery walks, you’re sure to find plenty to keep you busy. Walking down through the old town to the seafront and Hastings Contemporary Gallery takes about 15 minutes. We are situated 1.5 kilometre to the old town and 2.3 kilometres to the new town.

We generally have a minimum of two night stays but, if you would like to stay for one night only, then please contact us to discuss whether this will be possible.

Good location, great space

Spotlessly clean and within a 5 minute drive of the beach/town centre or a 15 min walk away. Quiet location and spacious rooms. Very comfortable double bed. Lots of storage, equipped kitchen with basics - salt etc. On-street parking with spaces available. Great communication from hosts. Would book again!

Absolutely spotless

Andrew and Clare are absolutely delightful hosts nothing was too much trouble for them.The apartment was very cosy and yet spacious absolutely immaculate throughout it’s ideally located and there’s even a slight sea veiw from two of the rooms.would definitely recommend this place and hopefully we definitely be coming back.

Great location and hosts

Beautiful space, perfect as a base to explore the area. Garden is immaculate and with a lovely veranda area to sit outside. Clare and Andrew were welcoming and helpful. Well stocked kitchen with all the utensils you may need and also some condiments. Lovely bathroom with a great power shower and plenty of hot water. Bed was really comfortable. Lots of local information leaflets and games (plus Lego) to keep all ages entertained if the weather is not kind.

Beautiful apartment

Despite having probably the worst weather in months and Hastings flooding, we had a lovely time. Apartment is a quirky period place with an enormous main bedroom and large living room. Owners were lovely and kept the property lovely and warm, really needed in the awful rain and wind. Garden is beautiful, even in the rain. There are stairs down to the apartment, just a note in case you have mobility issues. Thankyou very much to Claire and Andrew for a relaxing long weekend.

Great hosts, great location

Second time we’ve stayed with Clare and Andrew as made so welcome on our last trip and this time was no different. The property is spotlessly clean and less than 15 minutes walk to the hustle and bustle of the old town. Great place to stay

Lovely apartment in Hastings

Lovely long weekend in Hastings

Great property for a stay just near enough the old town and seafront to not having to take the car, kids loved the bunk bed and apartment was comfortable & had everything we needed. Friendly owners, we had a fab time.

Just what we we're looking for!

A really charming, quirky property. We loved the hideaway feel, the high ceilings and general character. We had everything we needed, parking was easy and the walk into town, though steep, was lovely. Would definitely stay again!

Lovely flat with access to veranda and garden.

Beautiful clean bright and spacious self catering accommodation in a quiet location but near all the amenities that Hastings has to offer. Added bonus of doors from sitting room opening out on to a veranda overlooking a lovely garden. Friendly hosts and good communication about booking and any problems.

Lovely family break

Mid week break

Very easy process and a nice property with a beautiful garden. The property is well maintained, extremely clean and feels news and fresh. We didn't have a car but found plenty to do around Hastings and surrounding area.

Great property with gorgeous garden

A lovely little break in a period property. Comfy beds with quality bed linen, good shower and delightful lounge looking over the beautiful garden. Would have liked to have walked to the old town and seafront but the weather was too bad unfortunately. A short drive takes you to the front and the quaint old town with an array of antique shops, restaurants and coffee shops.

Very happy in Old Hastings

My partner and I stayed for a weekend break at the end of April and a had a lovely relaxing time. Flat is light and airy, clean, modern with a very comfortable 4 poster bed. Lounge opened out onto a peaceful garden, great for drinks as the sun went down. Well situated for visits to Battle, Rye and to walk into Old Hastings. Would definitely recommend at least a weekend as plenty to see and do. Thank you Andrew and Clare.

Beautiful & quiet garden flat near Hastings Old Town

This was our second stay at the property and we loved it as much as our first. Large French windows open onto a sheltered patio area above the beautiful garden. We spent most evenings here enjoying the garden views, fresh air and peace & quiet. The main bedroom and living room are huge with lots of natural light, beds are comfortable and separate WC very practical. Our children were delighted that the property has Netflix! The kitchen is small but functional, and has all necessary appliances. The location is excellent: within walking distance of the Old Town but in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The hosts who live in the house above the swlf-contained flat are friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive. We hope to return again soon!
