About this property

1912 – Villa Niagara was built as the premier farm homestead of Grantham district, and the Coachhouse was built for farm help housing and storage.

Today, housing has replaced the farmland but the original home and Coachhouse remain on one property as one of the last original farm homes of that area. The Coach House has been converted into living quarters, now containing 2 cozy one-bedroom units.

The Coachhouse has undergone a complete renovation, and we've re-created the lower unit for your upcoming Niagara vacation. We’ve anticipated all your holiday needs by incorporating amenities important to you such as bedroom access to a private outdoor “courtyard” complete with your own private hot tub. A compact laundry center, WIFI, Bell TV & multiple HD TV’s - everything is completely new, from the full kitchen, to the custom tiled bathroom.

You’ll be conveniently central to all the desirable areas in Niagara such as Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, wineries, Port Dalhousie, and close walking distance to Lock 1 of the Welland Canal and the canal trail stretching from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie.

We live in the original farm home to the left of the Coachhouse, and can assist you when required to help you make the most of your vacation.

Perfect

My boyfriend and I plan on coming back here. They provided bikes where we went on a beautiful ride to Sunset beach. They provided a tandem kayak where we spent a day kayaking and seeing beautiful scenery. The location is perfect.

Perfect getaway

This is the best place we have ever stayed on VRBO. It was immaculately clean and tidy. The location was great to see and do everything we had planned. It's private and safe place. Sherri was a great host, answering my questions about beaches and restaurants. If we ever visit that area again we're definitely going to stay there.

A beautiful coach house for two.

A lovely retreat

The property was super cute and well located between Niagara Falls and Toronto. Downtown St Catherine’s was also close and nice to go to. We also went for some walks very close near the property. We really enjoyed having a private space, especially the kitchen and the hot tub!

Coach House Delight

What a wonderful carriage house, very clean and neat. Close to the canal for viewing ships. Attentive hosts, very helpful in answering questions about the area. Everything you want in a quiet vacation rental. If it is available, book it.

The owners were more than fair when I needed to change my booking due to a family emergency. They are friendly and good communicators. The property is perfectly clean, updated, and had everything you need! The bikes were a huge plus for us! What a fun touch.

Short getaway

Well-appointed coach house that made for a really nice little 2-night getaway. We appreciated the extra touches the owners put Into the place, making it possible to enjoy the accommodations without having to go anywhere else should you choose to stay onsite. On the other hand, the location is also really convenient for touring the Niagara area. All in all, our stay at the coach house was far more pleasant, comfortable and relaxing than it would have been had we stayed at one of the hotels in the Niagara region.

Beautiful property for a quiet retreat

Old English charm with modern convenience, Sherrie and Carl’s coach house is a dream vacation property. Beautifully decorated, very clean, but most importantly it is designed for a relaxing couples getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed discovering the little details that have been well thought through. Whilst we received a very warm welcome from Sherrie and Carl, the checkin process and instructions are seamlessly designed to settle into the property quickly and with ease! The location is terrific and generally 20 mins from everything that the Niagara region has to offer. Giving a property 5 stars is always hard to do, particularly as you don’t want to give away the secret so easily, but (said in a whisper!) this place is fantastic! BUT DON’T TELL ANYONE ELSE!!! We will head back for sure!! Thank you to our unbeatable hosts, Sherrie and Carl.

Look No Further!

Cozy & comfortable Coach House is the place to stay if you are coming to visit Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake or surrounding areas. Carl & Sherrie really exceeded our expectations by attending to every detail. Neat as a pin & many extras in the kitchen were provided. I hope we will make our way back to visit again soon!

Fantastic small cottage

After a couple of days at Niagara Falls we came here. Quiet area, biking with and without wine stops. Very cozy cottage with hottub. Great get away. With provisions wouldn't mind being snowed in for several days.

The property was immaculate. Tastefully decorated and well stocked with everything you need.

The property is located in a nice neighborhood. It is easy to find and within half hour to the Falls. Lots of things to do locally, even if the weather isn't the best. Kitchen is well equipped to make meals. If you don't want to cook lots of restaurants in the area. Didn't meet the owners, but they seemed very nice through notes. Said if we needed anything we could call, text, or walk over to their place. I highly recommend this place.

This place is perfect

This is probably one of the best VRBO's we stayed in. Great location;; less than a half hour from everything. So clean and well appointed. There really wasn't anything that was not thought of from the decor, amenities, or hospitality. I wished we had another day.

Hubby and I stayed for three days while on business in Niagara. It was so difficult to be away at work all day as we really just wanted to be ‘home’ to enjoy this wonderful apartment. Where to begin in describing what we liked? The owners have clearly put a great deal of thought into creating a space designed for the guests’ comfort, with high-end finishes and every detail anticipated. Everything was spotlessly clean. The generously sized couch and easy chair in the livingroom are beyond comfortable and the electric fireplace so cozy. I loved the large glass spa-style shower and tile work in the restroom. The bed was very comfortable with delicious cotton bedding and a duvet that envelopes you. And we really loved having our own back courtyard with a bbq and private hot tub - what a way to wind down at the end of the day! We enjoyed cooking dinner in the well-outfitted kitchen. Carl and Sherri accommodated us with extra stools for our dinner guests....and our guests (who live around the corner) thought they would enjoy a getaway here too! Having stayed at many cottage/apartment rentals in the past, we can easily say this one rates at the top of the list in comfort, amenities, cleanliness and value. Now we just need to find another excuse to come to the area so we can book a stay at the Coach House again,

We're proud parents of 3 lovely kids and crazy about our 5 grand daughters and one grandson!

Old homes have been our interest so when we had the chance to acquire the largest original farm estate in Grantham district, along with it's Coach House, we jumped at the chance!

We've combined our favourite TV show, HGTV's "Fixer Upper", and our renovation skills to provide your what we hope is a unique relaxing experience.

We enjoy local history, so we've amassed a small collection of old, very unique books about local history regarding the Falls, the Welland Canal, Niagara-on-the-Lake etc, so we know you'll enjoy those!

We love the water, Carl is a SCUBA diver - always seeking old treasures on the bottom of the Niagara River. Sherrie loves day-tripping to local antique stores, seeking a new "find"!
