The two chalets, ‘Erisort’ and ‘Orisaigh’, are located within the village of Leurbost, in the North Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis, and a 10 minute drive from the main town of Stornoway.
Built from Siberian larch timber, each chalet sleeps 4 persons.

In addition to 2 spacious bedrooms, there is a fully fitted modern kitchen, a bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet. The open-plan dining and living room area commands extensive panoramic views over sea lochs and the hills of Lewis and Harris. Patio doors open onto an extensive decking area that is ideal for barbecues and outdoor dining. Both chalets provide wheelchair access and are suitable for individuals with impaired mobility.

The chalets are fitted with modern appliances and a WIFI connection is also available.
This is a truly inspirational place for all the family to enjoy their holiday and to return home with unforgettable memories of these magical Hebridean Isles.

Each chalet has an adjacent dog kennel and separate outhouse, which provides washing and drying facilities. Separate parking is available directly outside the chalets, with sufficient space for several vehicles. A licensed local shop, and petrol station, is conveniently situated within a short drive or 15 minute walk. The shop offers an extensive range of groceries and fresh daily produce. In addition, the shop complex features a hairdressing salon and small cafeteria.

As an additional attraction, guests will be able to enjoy the benefits of a well-fitted sheiling (bothy) called ‘Airidh Nisreabhal’, which is the Gaelic name for the nearby hill and loch situated in this majestic location. It is conveniently placed en-route to the famous and mystical ‘Callanish stones’ and is just a short 3 minute drive from the chalets. The sheiling provides an excellent vantage point for bird watchers and hillwalkers, or, alternatively, a place of tranquility and relaxation for surfers, fishermen, businessmen, honeymooners and indeed anyone else who would like to enjoy the peaceful island country life.

The Chalet is fitted with an Electricity meter which can be topped up at the local shop 1.5 miles away.

Lovely cabin with great view

Clearly lots of thought and care has gone into this cabin. Very clean and has everything we needed. Electricity was extra but even in February only came to just over 10/day. Host was lovely and welcomed us with cake and biscuits . Went home happy, having had a very good visit to the islands

Great loocation and Facilities

Lovely wooden chalet, 15 minutes outside of Stornoway. Great facilities with all kitchen gadgets you would ever need ! Two spacious bedrooms - one double ( super king ) and one twin. Separate toilet which is a plus 👍 Overall a great stay and highly recommended

Fantastic cottage and exceptional location

This is a clean, warm and comfortable cottage which is very well equipped. It has fantastic views over the loch. The hosts are exceptionally kind. For example, we notified that we would arrive late. It was dark and wet on arrival but our hosts had the lights and fire on and even the electric blanket. We had a super holiday and would definitely stay again. Mgt & Eddie, Livingston

Disappointing

Location as expected, sadly the lodge was not. We spent the 1st evening cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms as all were dirty, having to drive to Stornowy for more cleaning supplies as were running out at gone 9pm. The big bathroom smelt of stale urine throughout the stay, despite us scrubbing the toilet and Lino several times. The towels were thin, small and at least 2 were ripped or had holes in them, 2 also had stains on them. The sinks and taps were dirty and the shower had mould in it and didn’t drain properly. The toothbrush holder/ pot was filthy inside. The kitchen worktops had old food stuck on them, coffee granules, peas and crumbs by the plenty. The cutlery drawer and trays were full of crumbs and hairs and the cupboard fronts and shelves were dirty and smelt musty. We washed what crockery/ cutlery we needed before we used it and kept it all on the worktop for the duration of our stay. The dishwasher had no rinse aid or salt in it and was so noisy it either kept us awake or spoiled our evening. One half of the toaster didn’t heat up at all. The fridge had a big hair in it and wasn’t clean. The kitchen sink was the worst we’ve ever seen. All the bedroom furniture was dusty and we found hairs on the bedside tables and ornaments and stains on the doilies, on a cushion on the bed and on the pillow cases. The rugs on the floors and sofas were full of bits. If we could have found somewhere else to stay we would have left but Vrbo didn’t reply to our request.

Idyllic home from home holiday let

Never stayed in such a well equipped, homely, comfortable and clean holiday let! Everything had been thought of. The addition of being able to use The Sheiling by the Loch was icing on the cake, what a special place! Beaches out of this world too!

Lovely stay

The chalet is comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, and the view is lovely! Close to restaurants etc in Stornaway but also set apart from any hustle and bustle. A perfect getaway!

Then property was as described and was fully equipped with everything that we needed. The owner was communicative and reassuring. So was his mother who welcomed us with cake. One tiny addition that would have helped us after a long drive would have been a little milk for us to make tea? That is quite picky though.

Erisort chalet in lewis

This chalet exceeded our expectations. Never been to such a well equipped self catering accommodation ! Absolutely fabulous. And the view astounding. Impressed so much booked to stay for 2 weeks in 2023! Really couldn’t fault it. And the property managers so nice and friendly. Typical island folk!!

Stunning property, enjoyable stay

Property exceeds expectations with a great cosy feel for the days the weathers not so great but can easily feel incredibly open when the sun is shining. Owners are very accommodating and welcoming as well as keeping the place in pristine condition. Very enjoyable experience!!

Great Cabin but Jewel in the Crown is the Sheiling

Vey well equipped comfortable chalet. Exceptionally comfy bed. Good working area in the kitchen and having cupboards left empty for our food was much appreciated. The chalet is in a quiet position, overlooking the loch and has easy parking directly outside. We didn't go to the sheiling until our last day which was a big mistake. It's brilliant! Great setting, well equiped. It's got small stove, table chairs, sofa, fishing rods, sink and loo.. Most definitely not a hut!! We had a great stay at Erisort.

Lovely stay at Heather Isle Chalets.

Erisort chalet provides a great base from which to explore both Lewis and Harris. It has lovely views South over the sea lock and towards the mountains. Erisort chalet is very comfortable, spacious and extremely well equipped. Donald, the owner, is really friendly and helpful, and his wider family also made us really welcome - nothing was too much trouble. A great place to stay. Our second visit to the Outer Hebrides and we will be returning.

A covid escape

A beautiful lodge with stunning views of a sea loch, the mountains of north North Harris and the mountains of the Fisherfield forest near Ullapool. Superbly designed with a huge range of quality furnishings and accessories. A large decked patio leading out of the front room was a delight. I've been to dozens all over the world. Uniquely Erisort simply felt like home. I cannot give it a better compliment.
