The property was comfortable and amenable. The drive to the property is not for the faint of heart. If you are looking for a secluded location then this is your destination. However, if you’re looking for somewhere where you can hop down to a restaurant or bar, it’s a far drive. Limited access to technology helped us reconnect with nature.
I highly recommend staying here. The condition of the cabin indicates how the owner takes great pride in sharing their home. Peace, solitude and zen by the river await you.
My wife and I stayed at this property for 27th year anniversary. We just wanted to be with each other in a secluded setting. This did the trick! We had a great time relaxing at this cabin. The ONLY issue we had was there is no Hot Tub as listed. This was one of the main reasons we booked here, it said it had a hot tub. But much to our dismay when we arrived, no hot tub. If we would have known this we would have picked another cabin. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves and we liked the cabin very much. Knowing what we know now, we would still book here again, we just won’t bring our swimsuits. 😉
Lovely setting right on the river with a little beach and shallow still water area for cooling off. The cabin is well stocked with all the kitchen cleaning and laundry supplies we needed. The beds were comfy and warm. Stairs to the loft where the master bedroon is might be challenging for older ir mobility challenged folks but the futon in the living room was just as comfortable as any of the beds! Highly recommended to unplug and relax! No internet wifi or cable but the huge windows facing the river are better than any screen.
Great spot to get away from everything and be on the river. Cabin is thoughtfully stocked, especially the kitchen. Gas BBQ grill on the deck worked great.
We were there during a little heat wave and we spent most of our time in the river, which was perfect because it's so close to the cabin.
The host provided a bunch of fans inside the cabin so there was plenty of airflow at night to sleep. The cabin also is well insulated so closing the windows in the morning kept the cabin cool until early evening.
We fished early morning and there are some good easy spots to cast from shore or cast from the river.
The neighborhood locals are friendly and will come down to chat with you, but otherwise it's super quiet and secluded. Road in and out is a bit adventurous (two-way traffic on one way road) but luckily it's not busy at all. We dropped into Willow Creek and there were some decent restaurants.
Be prepared for no internet, which was actually welcomed as it made it feel more like camping (though there is some limited reception down at the river).
Overall it was an easy 5 star experience
We enjoyed every part of our stay. The house had everything we needed, including games and books. We loved walking down the porch to the river and having direct river access. The owners were available for all communication needs
This is a listing than undersells and overdelivers. The location is beautiful, directly on the Campora Riffle on the Trinity River. As a base location for fishing the lower Trinity and Klamath rivers, it is excellent. The cabin is very clean, well stocked, and one of the most relaxing spots I have ever been. Deborah’s communication was great. Can’t wait for my next trip!
We had such an amazing time. House is spacious and has everything you could need while there! Kitchen is well equipped and plenty of clean towels and linen available!
We absolutely loved and truly enjoyed every minute spent there!
WE WILL BE BACK!
Absolutely gorgeous spot on one of the best rivers in California. The whole family had a blast and we can't wait to return next summer. Thank you for sharing this special property!
What a beautiful place! The cabin is rustic but that was part of its charm, we were able to completely unplug during our stay. It was great for our family with three little kids-we didn’t need to get in a car to go to the river which made our days so much easier- but the river was far enough away we weren’t nervous about the toddler wandering down there alone. The lawn and deck were great for them to play outside and easy for us to supervise. There were a few kids dvds for when they were exhausted or we needed a break. The shallow sandbar made it easy for the kids to splash around and our oldest was able to “fish” off the rocks. Even though it was hot the river breeze and closing the house up in the morning kept the temperature manageable. It’s a great spot!
We stayed here for 4 nights in mid-May, 2022. My husband and I wanted to get away to a place where we could really unwind. This was the perfect place. We lucked out with absolutely beautiful weather too. The cabin is comfortable and has everything you could need. It is more rustic than glamorous, but fits perfectly in its surroundings. All we heard were birds, the flowing river, the breeze through the trees, owls, bullfrogs, and crickets. We saw plenty of deer, and sat on the deck watching hawks (and one eagle!) soaring above the river. My husband hoped to catch a lot of fish, but (according to the locals) the odd dry winter and extremely rainy spring affected the fishing this time of year. He still enjoyed trying to fish and actually caught one small trout, so he didn't get totally skunked! The road from Country Club to the house is really something! It is full of twists and turns and hills, so you just have to take it slow. But after you've driven it a couple of times it's really not a big deal - it is actually fun.
So this is the perfect place to slow down, breathe in some clean mountain air, and unplug from the world. There's no wi-fi, and cell service is "iffy" in the house. But at the road and closer to the river, I had cell service. And there is a landline in the house. Deborah was extremely responsive prior to and throughout our stay, so we never had to wait long for an answer to any questions we had. We will definitely consider coming back (maybe during a summer month or early autumn - better fishing), hopefully in the next year or so.
The 3 days we (two of us) booked in April were unusually cold and we didn't realize that heating was done by a wood stove, but the stove worked great and there was plenty of firewood and kindling, although some of the wood was marked "green, don't use" but perhaps that sign was from last season. We only stayed two nights and used up all the seasoned firewood. There are also 3 electric heaters along the wall but they don't do a great job but they did take off some of the chill. The road to the cabin was skinny and long but paved and not that bad, although it discouraged us from going to town or from doing trips (we are in our late 70s). This cabin seems better suited for younger folks. The loft bedroom has the queen bed but no bath upstairs, and we were leery about walking down the winding staircase in the night, so we used the bedroom on the main floor which only had twin beds. This was very crowded when we slept together. There is no sheet pan for heating pizza. We could not figure out how to connect the propane to the grill so we used the frying pan instead. The land line only works for local calls but the owner had a long distance line and so we could not contact her easily. The cell phone worked a little for texts. There are lots of birds to see, and listen to, so that was great. No dishwasher. Good oven and refrigerator.
Really fun trip. Everything was smooth and as described. Best river access and super secluded. Saw tons of wildlife including bald eagles. Road there is kinda scary in spots because it’s sometimes one lane. But it’s not too far from town so that’s good.
The cabin was intimate & neat every household item you needed was available. If your interested in your own piece of the River this is a million dollar location.
This was a perfect getaway for our family. The cabin was the perfect size for us. Private, large deck & grassy space to play. The short walk to the river allowed us to play there all day. The kids were asking when we are going back.
Deborah’s cabin was absolutely perfect for my son and I. It was very clean and stocked with amenities. The property is just gorgeous! The river is so healing. We hiked all over the area, from the Redwoods, to coast, to Shasta-Trinity National Forest. I would definitely stay here again when in the area!
Overall we enjoyed our stay since the goal was to completely unplug and relax. The location can't be beat with a view of the river, and a beach right in front of the cabin. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and taking hikes in the area. The cabin was clean and we had no issues communicating with the owner. The downsides were - 1. driving on the long and narrow road with blind curves and steep drop offs to get to the cabin. 2. outdated furnishings, there are two older futons (and no couch) in the living room and the carpet really could use replacing. 3. the only heat source is from a wood stove, plenty of wood was provided and there were fire starters, but it took time to warm the cabin up. Other than those issues, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place.
Perfect cabin getaway right on the river. Easy check-in and everything was clean and as expected. Location is perfect for a quiet retreat

We are a middle aged couple with two children. We work full time and enjoy our vacation home and enjoy sharing it with others. It is a special place to us and has created many happy family memories. We have some families return year after year, so it has become a happy family memories for them as well!
Why they chose this property
The Trinity River is a very beautiful natural setting. We bought the property to enjoy the sun, and peace and quiet. We wanted a place right on the river so we can easily swim and relax. The climate is perfect to grow a summer garden. We love the town of Willow Creek, which has so many activities available, such as the rafting companies that rent boats and provide guided trips. There are no crowds and there is everything you might need, even public tennis courts and disc golf.
What makes this property unique
Right on the river, just stroll down - one of the few houses with such easy access and sandy beach.
