Charming canal cottage

The canal cottage was a perfect place for us to call home for a few days. It was very clean, well provisioned and in a perfect spot - right out the door we could pick up the blue way trail along the canal or walk over to Lough Allen. It was also within walking distance of the town. We also appreciated all of the special touches provided by Kelli and Bobby - a bottle of wine, coffee, tea, biscuits, milk, etc. They are also wonderful hosts and available for any questions we had. We will definitely plan to come back!

Canal Cottage

A beautiful cottage that has anything you could ever need in it. The hospitality was great and there were lovely things to sample left by Kelli such as scones, gin and sweets. The outside is also lovely to sit out in and enclosed for the dogs to run about in. Without a doubt the loveliest self catering holiday home I have came across.

About the host

The Canal House & Canal Cottage has sat at the edge of Lough Allen before the 1900's sadly it lay derelict for a number of years before we renovated them both.

Having now restored the property to it's former glory, with a modern twist, it can once again stand proud at the mouth of The Lough.

Why they chose this property

We love to see visitors from around the world calling this house 'Home' even if only for a few nights. We hope you and your extended family have a wonderful time visiting Drumshanbo.

What makes this property unique

A modern, functional Cottage sitting on the edge of the waterfront, with mooring outside the front door, and access to a woodland walk leading to the famous Drumshanbo Boardwalk.
