The Beach Retreat

Awaken refreshed in the oversized master bedroom and wander into the spacious open plan living area to enjoy a freshly brewed ground coffee. Take a seat on the sumptuous sofas or open the full width doors to the patio to soak up the morning sun and to absorb the breath-taking views of the Solent, with Culver Down to the east and Dunose Point, Shanklin to the west.

Located on the ground floor with private patio and garden overlooking the sea – communal gardens secured by glass balustrade leads to your private access to the coastal path. A 5-minute stroll along the Coastal path and you land at one of the top-rated beaches in the UK.

LOCATION:

There are plenty of attractions to keep all ages entertained long Sandown seafront. The Pier and glorious Sandown Bay are just a short walk down-hill from the property. Voted one of the island’s best beaches, so why not stretch your legs along the miles of golden sand or swim in the cooling water of the English Channel. The nine-mile stretch between Yaverland and Shanklin, with Sandown nestled in the middle, demonstrates the wonders of geology, with red sandstone through to the white chalk of Culver Cliff. On a lucky day, the remains of fossils can also be found! If you crave an active holiday, the bay is hugely popular with water sports and you’ll be sure to see people paddle boarding, surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing or catamaran and dingy sailing; weather dependent.
A short walk towards Yaverland, you will also find the Wild Heart Animal Sanctuary, famous for its big cats. The sanctuary, formerly the Isle of Wight Zoo, gained further recognition due to the owner’s relationship with the naturalist and TV presenter Chris Packman. Additionally, a perfect distraction for the younger guests is Sandham Gardens, which is only minutes’ walk from the esplanade. With karting, sky nets, crazy golf and a dedicated play area on offer there should be plenty to ensure a good night’s sleep at the end of the day!

ONE LEVEL - GROUND FLOOR APARTMENT

Master bedroom: super king bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe
En-suite 1: high pressure, multi head shower, wash basin, toilet and storage
Bedroom 2: super king (can be made up as singles on request), bedside cabinet, chest of drawers, sofa and direct access through patio doors to the garden
En-suite 2: high pressure, multi head shower, wash basin, toilet and storage
Bedroom 3: twin beds and bedside cabinet
Main bathroom: duel ended bath with shower hose, toilet and wash basin

OUTSIDE
Garden accessed via the lounge, with exterior furniture and sea views
Communal grounds and bench sitting, with sea views
Private underground parking and additional visitor spaces within the gated entrance
Private gated access to the cliff path.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES / SERVICES:

PLEASE NOTE: a pre-authorised, refundable, security deposit of £200 will be required before arrival at the property. No money will be taken unless any damage is reported at the property within 14 days of your departure.

This property can accept a maximum of 1 pet(s). The charge is £35 per pet, per week and we kindly ask that you bring your own bedding for your pet(s). Please ensure that you correctly add your pet(s) when making your booking, so this additional cost is included. If it becomes apparent that you have brought a pet(s) with you but did not advise us, we will contact you to request payment separately.

This property offers a double sofa bed, If you would like us to supply linen for its use during your stay, this can be provided at an additional cost of £35, per stay.
Please do make us aware at the time of booking / in advance of your stay if you require this service, so we can arrange to take payment and have the linen made available.

There is no electric car charger on site and guests are prohibited from using the mains electric in the property to charge a car, unless agreed prior with the owner of the property. If it becomes apparent a car is being charged without approval, then the guest may be charged an additional amount to cover the extra cost.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

The Island Holiday Company are responsible for the full management of this property and should you need to contact us during your stay we are available between 9-5 Monday to Friday, We also operate an out of hours emergency service on the weekends - please refer to your property brochure left inside the property, for further information and contact details.

No stag or hen parties are permitted at any of our properties.

There is a strict no smoking/vaping policy, inside all our properties.

Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels and cot linen as necessary.

Please be respectful of the property and the neighbours during your stay; leaving the property as you found it on your arrival.

A breach of the above rules and guidelines could mean forfeiture of the Security Deposit.

Superb stay, thank excellent facilities

The beach retreat is a wonderful stay right on the cliffs with incredible views. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and well spec’d with everything you could need. The Island management company is excellent too. Highly recommend.

Amazing Apartment on the beautiful Isle of Wight

Stayed at the beach retreat for a family holiday with our dog. The location is perfect for the beach (just a short walk away via the cliff path) and amazing views around the bay. The apartment was very clean and tidy on arrival, and had all the mod cons we needed. Beds were very comfortable. 5 Stars

We had a wonderful week at The Beach Retreat

We had a wonderful week at The Beach Retreat. It was spotlessly clean, large bedrooms with lovely linen and the kitchen was well stocked with kitchen equipment, every thing we could need. We had a few issues that were dealt with swiftly and resolved completely. The apartment was quiet, safe and secure. Overall we really had a wonderful week and it was everything we could have wanted. Thank you.

Great location

Lovely views across Sandown bay. Direct access to the cliff path and down to the esplanade took us to several dog-friendly cafes. The others in our party, one elderly and one with restricted mobility, both appreciated the wide access and short distance to the car park. We are booking again next year. The showers really do create a flood on the bathroom floor. A long handled squeegee would allow guests to sweep the puddles into the drain.

Lovely apartment

Lovely apartment in a great position with views over the sea. A couple of minor problems were dealt with immediately. A bit tight for 6 people but absolutely fine for 4 adults. Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to cook in.
