Built for a Schooner Sea Captain, Joseph Corkum, in the late 1800's. A beautiful home right on the Atlantic Ocean. Listen to the surf and smell the sea salt air from the back door.
This 4 bedroom home, newly renovated has 2 1/2 baths, completed in June 2017.
King size bed in main floor bedroom with bay window with seating.
Queen size with private 1/2 bath on 2nd level.
Queen size with a full ensuite.
The back loft features a bedroom ( 25' x 13') off the middle bedroom and is great for the kids, king size and two twins, which is newly renovated *(2023) The country kitchen is a touch of heritage, original floors, open ceiling, a 7' island with bar stools including a large dining area. (total size 25' x 13')

Main floor full bath (13' x 9') Stroll the 3 acres, with breathtaking vistas.
On the property is Pentz Cove, launch your kayak and paddle over to Coffin Island and explore the natural coastal habitat.
Less than a 2 minute drive is Beach Meadows Mile Long Sand Beach.
The south facing property allows great sunshine all day long, starting with the amazing sunrise over the ocean.
The Moon glistens across the ocean at your doorstep.
In summer of 2019, our HOME was featured on HGTV SHOW- "On the Beach, Off the Grid". Season 1, Episode 1 - Quite exciting !!!

Wonderful stay!

Home is very well cared for and beautifully decorated. It has a wonderful sea view that you can enjoy. Very calming and comfortable stay with 4 guests. Checking in and out was very easy with Brian and Stan - it was great to meet you! We hope to visit again soon!

Beyond Expectations

My family and I have stayed at a few different vacation homes in Nova Scotia. This one is by far the best!! The entire experience was a pleasure. The home is beautiful and spacious. The nearby beach is incredible. We hope to be able to stay here again.

Family get away

We traveled her with friends, 2 families of 4. Lots of space. The kids enjoyed exploring and the rocks and wondering along the beach. We all enjoyed large table all of us could eat at. Great times. Beds were comfortable, the decor beautiful. The house is well cared for. Brian the host, was wonderful.

Awesome Most Memorable Stay!

This was the best week since a long time. Our first time in Nova Scotia and it did not disappoint at all. Far exceeded our expectations. We are coming back for sure. The cottage was exquisite and tastefully done with all the charms. Nicely laid out with all the expected amenities. Our family gathering was memorable and just perfect. We even managed to cook and put together a full Thanksgivings dinner! The nearby towns of Liverpool and Brooklyn have their own charm and so much history. Thank YOU to our wonderful hosts, Bruce and Stan. You two went beyond the call to ensure that we had everything and that we were happy. THANK YOU!!!

Family Reunion

This was the perfect property for our extended family. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The seating area outside was inviting. We loved the walk to the beach and the rocks. We enjoyed the artwork in the house. Oh yes, the screened in room was an added bonus! We hope to come back.

Wonderful week

Very lovely old home, nicely decorated and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here! The girls loved Beach Meadows and the adults enjoyed the screened hut. Our hosts Brian and Stan were wonderful and responsive to our requests. Do hope to visit again!

Perfect weekend get-away

This rental was exactly what we were hoping... a quiet spot on the ocean where we could celebrate our friendship. The house was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen was well appointed, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and all of the comforts of home were provided. The owners were helpful and communicative leading up to, and during our stay. They even surprised us with some personal touches that were incredibly thoughtful and made our weekend extra special. We'll definitely be back!

Mighty Atlantic DELIVERS ....

Booked for a special celebration - and not a single comfort missing here! Well appointed, with beautiful updates that incorporate graceful older pieces in style with the home itself. Add in the beautiful artwork and quirky touches (love the rake head holding the wine glasses!), this was a relaxing environment for us all. Loved the outdoor screened shed overlooking the waterside and the manicured pathways made for easy wanderings to the ocean-side. Location is perfect for day-tripping to golf courses, museums, and nature walks. Owners were most accommodating to our needs and we thank them for their attention! Nova Scotia hospitality at its BEST - THANK YOU!

Wonderful stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at Mighty Ocean. The house is absolutely lovely, very beautifully renovated, and spacious; it was perfect for our large family (four sons, ages 14 to 22, and a girlfriend!). The house was was super clean and our hosts, Brian and Stan, were lovely, and so helpful. They live just next door, which makes things very easy, but at the same time we had all the intimacy we needed. The location of the house is just stunning. Just by the ocean, and we hear the sound of the waves all the time. There are, just in front of the house, rocks that reminds me of Peggy's Cove. (Yes, we had our "own little Peggy's Cove"!) Walking on these rocks for 10 minutes, we can access Beach Meadows Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Novas Scotia, in my opinion.

Stunning location and fantastic hosts!

This is a beautiful ocean-view property that's been beautifully renovated and is super comfortable with four bedrooms and I think it can sleep 10 people, plus 2.5 bathrooms. Brian and Stan are excellent hosts, readily available by text, friendly and willing to answer any questions and make sure we had what we needed. The kitchen is well-stocked and we enjoyed dining while overlooking/listening to the ocean. There is a three-sided screen shanty that's a perfect spot for reading and contemplating. Beach Meadows, a mile-long sandy beach is a ten-minute stroll up the quiet road. We'll be back!

Friends reunion

We were knocked out by Mighty Atlantic and its hosts. The house was perfect for our group of 5 which swelled to 10 for dinners. Brian and Stan were like magic bunnies answering our every request. Gold stars all around.

Beautiful views and wonderful hosts

Our group of 4 adults really enjoyed the beautiful views as well as the tastefully curated house decor. Our hosts were warm, welcoming and incredibly responsive. They made our 2 night visit even more wonderful. The only issue we had was that we couldnt stay longer.

a truly gem

About the host

My Partner, Stan and I moved to South Shore Nova Scotia about 7 years ago. He is from here and left to work in Ontario where we met about 15 years ago. After his retirement we purchased his great Aunt's home, built around 1840, it has always been in his family. We totally reno'd it and it is just next door to this property. The view is breathtaking and we just love it here so much we bought the home next door, now "The Mighty Atlantic Guest House". This also completes Pentz Cove, his Mom's family. We purchased in November 2016 and completed the Reno's by June of 2017. We brought the floors back to the historic boards they once laid. We are one for detail so I believe this will be a nice spot to vacation in.

It allows us to own all of Pentz Cove, which is named after the family.

What makes this property unique

The details on this home are quite fine, three large bay windows, one being the living room, main floor bedroom and the upstairs bedroom. The large chestnut tree shades the front, with the century old barn brings reflections of bygone years. We love bringing the heritage back to a home, rustic features are highlighted throughout the home.
