We loved our time here! Lake Willoughby is gorgeous and this is the perfect place to enjoy it from. The cottage is a quintessential lakeside home and we loved that. We enjoyed bonfires, hikes and boardgames.
We had an incredible stay! We are a mountain biking, hiking and kayaking couple and this location was wonderful. Fantastic views! Such a memorable trip!
Great views of lake, mountains. Cute, spacious camp.
Right on the most amazing lake. Bedroom view from main bedroom on 2nd floor with a full wall of windows is serene. Also, wonderful views from dinning and living area. Very comfy beds and everything you need to enjoy your stay on Lake Willoughby.
Although we had some very wet weather , we had a great time. We loved that the property/ fire pit etc is right near to the water so we could all be together in and out of the water. It was nice there were plenty of fans for the bedrooms as well.
The waterfront was amazing and the cottage was comfortable very relaxing
We loved this rental just wished we didn’t have to haul our drinking water and maybe the kitchen could have a few more pots and pans overall it was great and we certainly would recommend it and likely to return
5th year coming here and it never gets old. I love everything about the house, location and Lake Willoughby. Tim always available if needed as well. Can't wait till next time.
We enjoyed our stay at Nod Away. The location on the lake, set back from the road and with a vacant lot on one side was great. The cottage had everything we needed. Hearing the loons calling was a plus. Tim was a great landlord to work with.
Everything was as expected! Place was clean, and cozy. There was even plenty of entertainment in the cabin for the rainy days. We are already planning on going back!
Another fantastic stay at the NodAway and Lake Willoughby! Charming cottage on the north side of the Lake with phenomenal views of the gap, Mount Hor and Pisgah. Just up the road from the Willoughby Lake Store, Sentinel Rock, and nearby restaurants. Tim and his family have a wonderful cottage and are a pleasure to rent from!
What a great spot for a stay with our daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. We enjoyed using the canoe and the kayaks and we loved the view from the cabin. Nice shallow water made it great for the 5 and 7 year old. The swing that went out over the water was also a hit, as was the outside fire-pit for s'mores. The grandchildren enjoyed all the board games and puzzles in the cabin. Thank you, Tim, for our stay.
Our group had a fun time. The view is amazing! It was a great place to meet up with friends for a peaceful relaxing time. Camp was well stocked with all needed items. Thanks Tim

The Nod Away has everything for everyone. A find we will certainly make an excuse to play hookie from our daily lives for again soon!
Very cute and comfortable camp. Sadly, we had very rainy weather during our stay, so we could not take full advantage of everything this camp had to offer. We wanted to sit lake side, have a fire and go out on the lake, but it was simply too rainy and windy. Would definitely consider staying again, but for more days, so we have a better chance at some good weather.
Lovely quaint cottage right on the water, clean, bright and airy. Kayaks, dock, swimming and fire pit were an added bonus! Wi-Fi was great, couldn’t figure out how to stream to the tv, but we were outside most of the day! Loons, a bald eagle and lots of ducks, mallards and mergansers with lots of babies. Hike to the top of mount Pisgah was amazing. Hard but worth it! We did the north trail.

Lovely week on Lake Willoughby
We had a wonderful week in the Nod Away house. Especially loved the use of kayaks, and we paddled every morning. We explored the nearby towns, read books, had lovely blue skies most of the week, and gorgeous sunsets. A truly relaxing place, beautifully situated for views of the lake and the Gap. There were a few windows with broken cranks that did not open, but overall the space was cozy and comfortable. Thank you, Tim, for sharing this special spot. We hope to come back.
The house is well equipped and comfortable, with three bedrooms with full or queen beds and one single bed in one, and a 3/4 bath on the first floor and a 1/2 bath on the second. The kitchen is small but ample. The sunlight through the many west, lake facing windows is wonderful, as is the view of the lake and the west shoreline. The house is right on the lakeshore, with adirondack chairs, lounges, and a hammock, along with a firepit, on the shore directly in front of the house. There is a dock to which I was able to tie up my 16 ft. boat at night, though I did have to lift the motor as it is in shallow water. The only improvement that I can imagine would be a gas fireplace, instead of the gas heater, in the fireplace in the living room, if it had the same capacity to heat the building. The only negative was an excessive cleaning fee .
