Karelia - Luxury Finnish Log Cabin w/Hot-tub

Lovely Finnish log cabin with amazing Forest views, superbly located next to Ringwood Forest with direct forest access. Carefully listening to guest feedback, the property has had a complete make-over and opened in April 2023. The new spacious layout is designed for 10 persons with a cosy in-door living for those cold wet months, with a Scandinavian Wood-Burning Stove at the centre of the open plan area.
The property is ideal for 2 families, with 3 newly renovated bathrooms, and ample living space. The new modern kitchen (2022) has a 10 person dining table and opens to the outdoor terrace dining and hot tub through French Doors.
The unique feature is the newly landscaped surrounding lawn, trees & mature garden, which is private to the cottage. The property backs on to Ringwood Forest with miles and miles of walks and cycling areas, including the Castleman Trailways and Moors Valley Country Park.
The location is also conveniently close to the A338/A31 for easy access to both the New Forest (10 mins), Bournemouth Beach (15 mins), and multiple Dorset/Hampshire pubs and restaurants
On the land is a World War 2 army bunker which we have converted into a Finnish Sauna and heated plunge pool. Please ask about booking and prices.
We also offer onsite Italian Chef services - pls ask for details.

Totally delightful!

It was a great location and lovely house that accommodated the 10 of us. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed. The table for 10 was perfect and the kitchen well equipped.

Great location

Everything you need for a relaxing few days away - loved being able to walk in the woods (literally on the doorstep) but also head down to the beach. Great space for all weathers.

Cabin in the Woods

The cabin was a cosy haven, boasting rustic charm with modern comforts. The spacious living area, with its crackling fireplace, plush furnishings, and inviting hot tub was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the woods.

11 of us stayed here for my grandads 80th! We had the most amazing time. We didn’t want to leave. The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful! The hot tub was a lovely touch! Thanlyou for having us. We will definitely be returning!

Cabin in the woods

Karelia is a beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. Close to amenities and things to do for the whole family. The children and adults enjoyed the hot tub and we couldn’t have asked for a better family holiday. Hoping to stay again.

The property was lovely.we had a problem with the shower.the owner fixed it within minutes. When we arrived there was a dishwasher full of dirty dishes.and empty sweet papers in a draw. The bunk bed and the bed near the roof was so hot we slept on the sofas. It would of been nice to have a welcome hamper with local items .as other places we’ve stayed in have. Also some games .cards.or books. The hot tub was lovely.and the area is beautiful.

Lovely stay

The property was in a lovely location with walks directly onto the forest. Everything was lovely and clean. Lovely garden too. The host was very prompt with communication and very helpful. Would go again. Thank you.

Woodland retreat

The luxurious cabin had everything we wanted for 6 adults and 3 infants. Bedrooms well appointed, although we hadn't realised the mezzanine bedroom was above the one with 2 singles. The bunk bedroom worked well for my son, wife and 3 year old, as he was adjoining their bedroom and so felt secure. Nice to have 2 ensuite bathrooms as well as the third bathroom. Large open living space with well appointed kitchen. Pleasant wooded garden with hot tub and BBQ. Great to be able to walk straight out of the garden and into Ringwood Forest and as far as country park with dogs.

The best getaway

Myself and my family had such a lovely time at this lodge. Everything was perfect. It was clean peaceful and in perfect location for everything. The host Timo was so helpful and we really didn't want our time to end. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend or to come back ourselves. Thank you so much for a perfect family getaway

Wonderful cabin

Absolutely lovely stay at Karelia cabin near Ringwood. The cabin is just lovely. Better than in the photos. Great open plan lounge/dining/kitchen. Comfortable & warm (log burner in centre of room is particularly nice). Really well finished with 3 new bathrooms (all with well sized walk-in showers), kitchen is also newly fitted & the back deck has a hot tub. It is dog friendly. We will certainly be visiting again. Thanks you!

Superb Family Stay

We are two families made up of two adults and one child and two adults and four children. The layout of the property was perfect for our group with all bedrooms just off the main lounge area. We spent 4 days at Karelia and would recommend for anyone looking for a well located, well appointed holiday let. The hot tun was a real feature, for both adults and children. It is a wonderful social space and a short wander into the forest.

Lovely Christmas in Karelia log cabin

We had an amazing christmas in Karelia, decorated with a big christmas tree and fairy lights. Cooking christmas dinner was a breeze in the fully equiped kitchen. Lots of fridge space and a nice size freezer. Log burner and the hot tub made our stay extra special. Walks for as long as you want from the garden directly into the forest. Plenty of parking right by the front door which was great for unloading presents, food and bottles of fizzy etc. Thank you to Timo and Steven. We had such a lovely Christmas xx

Great stay at Karelia

We had a lovely stay at Karelia cabin. It was perfect size for the 9 of us and exceptionally clean. We really enjoyed the hot tub and taking lots of walks in Moors Valley Country Park via the gate at the end of the property.

Family birthday and get away

Wow , what a great stay we had ! The cosy well equipped cabin met all our needs,and was set out perfectly for the 5 adults , 2 children and a dog. Set in a lovely setting , peaceful and tranquil and a great walk nearby . The hot tub was a great hit with all . We went to Moor Valley country park which was only a short distance away . The host was easy to contact with a couple of question we had . Id fully recommend staying here

Fabulous cabin set within a magical wood.

We went as a family of six to drop our Niece off at Southampton University. It was the most perfect place for a relaxing family break and the dogs loved it too! It is in a quiet spot perfectly located near to Southampton and Bournemouth with the stunning New Forest on our door step. After a lovely walk, a dip in the hot tub followed by a glass of wine in front of the log burner was the perfect end to a perfect day...we would highly recommend.

Karelia was the first property of 5 holiday cottages which we have created. On our land we have also Viipuri another Finnish cabin sleeping 14 and The Art Studio sleeping 14. All 3 are separate properties and fenced off from each other.
My name is Timo, and I look after Karelia, which is one of several holiday homes. I will be looking after you during your stay. Karelia has been a holiday home for guests since the early 1980's when my grandfather and Finnish grandmother, Helena, imported and the property from Finland. We have spent 2023 renovating the cottage bringing it up to modern standards.

The property is a wonderful retreat and ideally located for walks and as a base to explore the New Forest and Dorset. In 2023 we transformed the interior including new kitchen, living space, bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms, and landscaped the gardens to provide private lawn area and Forest Views.

An authentic Finnish log cabin, with Hot Tub, ample terraces for eating and sitting outside, private forest and garden views. The property is ideally located for Forest walks and as a base to explore the New Forest, Dorset and the many Bournemouth beaches.
