The house property and owners are awesome. Everything is very clean and house smells fresh. It has everything you need to enjoy your stay. It’s not the first time I’ve stayed here and definitely won’t be the last.
Wolf Hollow is the perfect place to get away and relax in nature. The house is super spacious. Relatively secluded and private but amazing grounds with a pond, bridge and creek nearby. Close to hiking trails and shops in nearby Andes or Margaretville. My friends and I have been coming back for years now and always have a fantastic experience. Highly recommended!
Super peaceful stay, exactly as advertised. Loved it!
We stayed a weekend which happened to be just past peak fall foliage, so the views were stunning with color, and dramatic from fall rain storms. We stayed inside mostly, enjoying the huge fire place, comfy couches, games, and many rounds of tea. The place is secluded on a small, rural road and sits on a hill side with a great view off the front porch - it was easy to find, even in the dark. It is easily big enough for 4+ people and a pet or two. Just plan ahead (know the door code before you get there, haha), as there is no cell service, only wifi (as advertised). The gas station at the top of Wolf hollow rd is a real gem and has phone service/wifi. The house has lots of fun details and doodads that lend it personality. The bedrooms and bed were super comfy and we all slept really well. Looking forward to next time!
My extended family stayed here for a weekend to attend wedding nearby. The house was comfortable and fit all of us (6 adults, 4 kids and a toddler in a pack n play). I would suggest the beds in the loft are probably not for kids because the height of the beds are basically level with the railing that overlooks the living room, and the end of the beds are only a few feet away from the railing. Two couples slept there, which was fine for our short stay but may not be ideal for everyone. One of the previous reviews mentioned sulfur water, but we drank and showered in the water and it was not sulfur smelling/tasting so I don’t know what they were talking about. That reviewer also seem to be unfamiliar with old houses in the country. The house was clean. The water pressure/temp was good in the shower, plenty of towels. Downstairs bathroom looks newly updated. We did not use the stove (we had lunch/dinner plans and brought easy breakfast foods). The fridge is a bit old but we barely used it. We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the morning. We walked around the yard and over to the bridge by the creek and it was very pretty. The little pond had some frogs that the kids enjoyed looking for. Not really good for swimming, but we didn’t have time for that. There were 2 boats sitting there but again, we didn’t have time to use them. This was a great spot to stay for our uses.

Not what we expected…
We were very disappointed in our stay at Wolf Hollow Farm. A previous review states it was “spotless” and it was far from even being clean; it was filthy. We spent the first day of our stay wiping off counters, floors, dust bunnies, cob webs, and the outside porch was covered in dirt and pollen. The house is in desperate need of a thorough deep clean. Just walking around the house, your feet would be brown.
It was extremely warm outside and there isn’t any AC, not a big deal, but we had to open the windows and the window sills were covered in dirt and dead bugs.
The house was very musty. I know it’s an older home, but it was clear it hadn’t been opened or used in probably over a month.
The well water had such a high sulfur and iron content it was undrinkable. They did offer a Brita water filter but that didn’t help. We had to purchase our own bottled drinking water.
The gazebo is unusable and in complete disrepair. The foundation is rotted away and unsafe.
The refrigerator needs to be replaced, the seal is covered in black mold and inside there is a lot of rust.
There were used ziplock plastic food bags in the cabinets. Not one, many. One had food still in it. I’m sure someone left this and it went unnoticed, but it was gross.
I provided this information to one of the owners and all they offered was 10% off a future stay. We will never be staying here again and would encourage others to look elsewhere.
Our stay at Wolf Hollow Farm was great! The views and property were amazing and the house was spacious and comfortable. Lots of stuff to do in the area and just hanging out at the house was wonderful and relaxing. Highly recommended. Would love to come back again.
Great location. Lots of room for large groups. Really liked the view and the stream running through the property.
However, there was a strong musty smell coming from the cellar. This was difficult for those of with allergies.
Covering the floor registers helped with the smell.
The area around the property is very rural. This was perfect for us as we like to hike and to chase down covered bridges. We found 8 in the area.
Splashtastic!!

We will recommend your home to all our friends and family
This is our second trip to the Fenwick's Wolf Hollow Farm and it was another magical experience. The property is uniquely isolated and just what we were looking for on our recent vacation. A week of listening to birds sing, the sound of the babbling brook and swimming in the pond was the peace and serenity we dreamed about since our previous visit. The towns of Andes and Margaretville have more than enough shops and restaurants if you want to get out and poke around. However, nothing beats the mists clouds lifting over the hills as the sun rises on a beautiful morning at Wolf Hollow Farm. Thank you Christibeth for sharing your special home with us! What a wonderful house. The location was outstanding and everything was perfect. Communication was fantastic and the wrap around porch with the screened in eating/sitting area was awesome. Everything you didn't know you needed was made available. Will definitely come up here again.
This is our second time here. It is a farmhouse which is perfect for a family. The house is clean, comfortable and has a sweet decor. What makes it truly special are the grounds and the porch area - that is where we have spent most of our time. Gorgeous vistas, beautiful bird sounds. I wish we could have stayed there longer and can’t wait to be back. Margaretville is nearby and is a cute town.
The house was amazing. Super clean and spacious. Very private but near all kinds of trails and downtown Margaretville etc. The view from the porch was excellent. The grounds were really cool also. Right by a creek, pond and an old barn. Highly recommend this place. We’ll be back for sure.
This cozy cabin was the perfect place to host my mom and her best friend for my mom’s birthday getaway! We most loved the wrap around porch and fireplace, which made it so easy to stay in and enjoy time together vs going into town. The views of the Catskills and the property itself were 2 gorgeous perks!
The house had everything we needed–well equipped kitchen, outdoor dining area, spacious rooms…. We enjoyed so much the pond, the porch, and the stream–which we could listen to from the master bedroom. And also watching at the stars, at night. Looking forward to come back!
This property had it all! Cozy home with everything we could ask for, even a coffee grinder. The porch was my favorite place and will bring us back. My 3 year old son loved the creek, the bunk beds, and the closet full of toys.
The location was absolutely stellar! Since the weather for our weekend stay was perfect, we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit every evening, surrounded by the mountains, waiting for the stars to appear. It was nice to be away from a city environment during Covid. We appreciated the very prompt attention of the homeowner regarding some concerns we had..
Has lots of quirks. One old cheap shower. Two toilets. One upstairs.
Tv is 20 years old at least.
Fireplace is great.
Light switches again quirky. Lots of little beds.
We had the most amazing weekend! I was raised on an dairy farm and it was nice to see the old barns, pastures, etc. We needed a much needed and quiet getaway and this was the perfect place. I am a photographer and bee enthusiast and found a very rare bumble bee (Bombus fervid) Golden Northern Bumble bee visiting the asters in the old fields. The kids loved the swings, and the paddleboat. Thank you for an amazing place.

About the host

We were originally a family of 5 when we purchased this property. We have grown to a family of 13 since then. We live at the shore year round in New Jersey and love to go up to the Catskills to get away from our daily routines.
Why they chose this property
This property was purchased over 30 years ago by my father Thomas Fenwick because it reminded him of his roots. Since then we have made it a fun place to go to with our own families to get away from technology and the hectic lives we all lead. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we have over the years.
What makes this property unique
We enjoy this property for it's views, it's wildlife, the stream, the pond and it's 60 acres of Hiking. And if you want you can just sit on the porch swing and watch the world go by.
