We had a great stay for 1 week and I hope we could have stayed longer! Very, very comfortable and cozy house owned by lovely couple and nice children. Our kids were happy to feed the animal at the farm! Everything is very clean and the whole cottage is great quality! Thank you very much!

We spent a lot of time researching and couldn’t be happier with our choice. The kids said the beds were very comfy and they loved the dvds and games. Perfectly located for the places we wanted to visit. Loved the home made scones and enjoyed feeding the animals. Will definitely be coming back, the perfect holiday for us :)
We had an amazing stay at this cottage, every detail was well attended to. The cottage is spacious, and is set in a quiet location, perfect for a weekend retreat. We will be back for sure.
We stayed for a few nights in early June. The cottage was outstanding! It was in a perfect location (once you get used to the back roads). It was clean, full of everything you need for a family stay. We used the bbq and the kitchen it was perfect. Our little one particularly loved going to feed the donkeys and goats and he was happy on his bike around the cottage.
It was quite difficult to locate the cottage at first, maybe a ‘what three words’ location might be good for future :).
Thank you for having us, we enjoyed every minute and would certainly return.
Great Cottage - Central for North and South Coasts
Really great stay - a very quiet area - no traffic noise, but within 30mins of the north and south Cornwall coasts. Also about an hour from Lands End. Try star-gazing outside on a clear night!
The property itself was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is kitted out fine for cooking meals. In summer you can sit outside with a south-facing view and have a BBQ. In cooler days you have central heating and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm.
Comfortable beds. Bath/shower rooms all fine, slightly on the small side, but no real problem for us - it is a cottage after all!
Overall, well recommended!
Thank you to Charmion for the lovely welcome. Really appreciated the milk, homemade scones, jam and cream which were very well received. Barn stay was immaculate and had all the amenities that we needed for our stay. Very enjoyable holiday, ideal location to explore Cornwall.
We have just had the most fantastic two weeks at the cottage. Such a good location for exploring a bit further afield as nothing is much more than 30 mins (except the far west of Cornwall). We have 3 young children, the cottage catered for them really well. The donkeys and goats on site were enjoyed. It’s so peaceful and quiet and really comfortable. The WiFi isn’t brilliant and we had no signal but apart from when we were trying to get Google maps up we enjoyed being quite disconnected for our holiday. The roads approaching the cottage aren’t for the nervous but you get used to them quite quickly and it didn’t phase us at all. Overall a brilliant holiday and our children were so upset we had to leave! Thank you!!!
What an absolutely fabulous place. Welsummer cottage was beautiful, so clean, well equipped, homely , & comfortable- everything we could have wished for!
Bosneives Mill is in a lovely location , but not far from anywhere.
Being able to feed the donkeys & goats was a lovely thing to do and Donk & Ponk are adorable.
Charmion ( the owner) was very friendly & welcoming ,
We cant wait to visit again 🙂
We had a lovely stay in this delightful cottage which was spotlessly clean & situated in a perfect position to explore all parts of Cornwall. Would highly recommend.
Attention to detail is paramount for us and the guys obviously want to give their guests their full attention and to.
The cottage was very well appointed and we wanted for nothing.
Although the roads are narrow there is very little traffic so getting about is very easy.
There is a lot to do in the area from national trust properties beaches and of course Rick stein in padstow.
We will be back thank you
Our little stay in the cottage was perfect, exactly what we needed. It was clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and so peaceful. Idyllic sums it up perfectly.
Fresh made scones on arrival were exactly what we needed after a 5hr drive and so delicious.
The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, loved seeing the animals on their farm too.
Just an all round perfect escape from daily life and we loved every second of our stay. Thank you for having us!
We were so impressed with this charming barn conversion. Charmion and Charles have done this property to a wonderful standard, and we found it clean and tidy, with everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay (including some delicious homemade scones with jam and cream). The location is brilliant, in short driving distance from towns such as Wadebridge, Padstow and Rock. Would highly recommend and hope to return for another stay some day.
We had a wonderful stay at Welsummer cottage. It was beautifully clean. Fantastic open space to be as a family with games and dvds for entertainment.
The donkeys and goats were a huge hit with our daughter (and us adults)
Could not fault the place.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
My daughter and I celebrated my birthday weekend at this lovely property. We were close to Padstow, the Eden project, we found beautiful walks and beaches all within 30 min drive and would have enjoyed a couple of National trust houses had they been open.
The property was beautifully clean, gorgeous interior and well equipped, just like home. If I could have changed anything I would have brought a blanket or two as it was the beginning of April and even though there was central heating and a log burner, the property didn't warm up until the day we left after the 3rd night. Maybe the heating just needed to be ran on a low temperature a few days before we arrived.
The double bed was lovely but I would have appreciated a topper as I could feel the springs.
We found the property with the owners directions given the day before we arrived and were met with a warm welcome from their lovely cat. They gave us complete privacy and were very pleasant when we had interaction as were their lovely children Ethan and Ellie, who were helping feed the geese, goats and gorgeous miniature donkeys Donk and Ponk....adorable. I'd definitely stay there again.
Lovely and comfortable, nice fresh bedding and towels, nice comfy beds, it was an ideal location to explore all the major towns in Cornwall. The donkeys and goats were lovely and it was nice to visit them. It was great lying in bed at night listening to the owls and other wildlife.
However..........
Before we had even unloaded the car on arrival I had to go round with the hoover as there were dead flies everywhere, including on the beds, but I appreciate it is set deep in the countryside and these things are always going to be rife, but seeing as someone had obviously been in the property on the day of arrival to leave us fresh scones with clotted cream and jam (which was very much appreciated!), you'd have thought they might have just done a quick scan round to check these things, not a massive problem, just a little bit irritating as I was supposed to be away for a few days to escape these things :)
There is a beautiful log burner in the property but yet no companion set! Those of us with log burners know that you can't attain a nice fire without poking it! We asked for a poker and was promptly provided with one, but then we had a visit from (we can only assume) the host, who told us we weren't really allowed a poker as we might break the tiles at the back of the fire, after my husband assured him that we have log burners in all our properties and are quite competent in using not only a poker, but a log burner, he allowed us to keep it. Having said that, we had to scrub the glass door of said log burner before use as it looks like it had never been cleaned and you couldn't see through the blackened glass, but once it was clean and we had a poker, we soon had a lovely fire going to keep us nice and cosy!
There were at least 6 light bulbs that need replacing, just worth a mention for replacement for future guests.
There was a beautiful set of non-stick pans provided in the kitchen yet only stainless steel utensils so after many uses, the non-stick coating is non existent!
There is a knife block in the kitchen, however, all of the knives either need sharpening or replacing with new ones, we struggled to chop or cut anything with them.
Future guests may benefit if there was a whisk and toast rack provided.
Please note, we had a lovely stay and these are by no means meant to be complaints, just feedback for future guests to enjoy the property as it should be enjoyed!
Beautiful cottage - needs careful driving to access property!
We had difficulty finding the property because we hadn’t received clear directions prior to travelling. However, once we knew the best route (via very narrow lanes) we loved everything at the cottage. It was clean, very comfortable & had everything we needed. The owner was lovely, very friendly & helpful.
The property is well equipped, clean and in a great central location to explore the surrounding area. Hosts were really helpful, both prior to and during our stay. Would recommend.
Quiet cottage ideally located for Cornwall sight-seeing
The cottage is very quaint and pretty. There's a lovely open plan kitchen and living room which is great for socializing. Outside there are some seating and a BBQ for guests to make use of. Best of all, there are some donkeys and goats that are housed nearby and we were allowed to feed them. My daughter loved it!
The bedrooms are nicely decorated and the beds are very comfortable. The cottage is very peaceful and quiet. It's ideally located for people who want to explore Cornwall. Padstow is 25 minutes away by car and the Eden Project is 25 minutes in the opposite direction, both are well worth a visit.
I highly recommend staying at this property. Ideal for a family with toddlers / kids.
