About this property
Juniper Cottage is a 2 bedroom cosy grade ll listed property with white wooden-clad.
The cottage is perfect for winter breaks, snuggling up by the log burner with a good book or for summer breaks, relaxing in the wild garden with a cold drink or gently strolling through the town to the beach.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
The house is only a 2 minute stroll to the town centre and just a further few minutes to the beach near The Neptune pub directly on the beach - perfect for sun-downers whilst watching Whitstable's famous sunsets.
The Duncan Downs nature reserve is close by with lots to explore from woodlands to ponds. Such a wonderful walk to listen to the birds or frogs in the spring.
The Crab and Winkle Line has a cycle and trekking route taking you through beautiful woodlands, passing the pond, as far as Canterbury. It is within easy walking distance of Whitstable Station if you arrive by train and a leisurely walk to the historic Whitstable Castle for picnics and a play in the park.
You have access to all areas in the property apart from the wall cupboards in the bedrooms and the attic bedroom.
Walk through the door into the snug living room, light the log burner and relax on the sofas with a game or 2. Past the staircase you will find a fully equipped kitchen/diner with varnished wooden worktops, a butler sink, electric oven & hob and a dishwasher to clean the dirty dishes for you! At the back of the house downstairs is a large bathroom with a WC, basin and bath with overhead shower, decorated with an ambient feel. In the warmer months, enjoy the country garden with a coffee on the decking in the morning. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms, both with comfortable iron framed beds, decorated with earthy tones to help you drift off.
There is free street parking on the roads to the rear of Canterbury Road such as Swanfield Road and Belmont Road but directly outside the property there are double yellow lines. The nearest paid parking is Shaftesbury Road car park and on the weekends and school holidays there is a charity car park Whitstable Primary School along Oxford Street. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable. The nearest car park you can reserve on Just Park is the Co-op, directly opposite the house.
There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
There are also Taxi services available for short fares or airport runs. The nearest airport is in London and the Ferry port is in Dover.
No smoking.
Please keep a noise to a minimum after 10pm to respect the neighbours.
Please put the garden seating cushions away in the boiler cupboard opposite the back door once you have finished using them.
Please note: As the property is old and on a main road, some traffic noise may be heard in the front bedroom. However there is a white noise machine you can use if you are a light sleeper, that eliminates some of the noise.
