Wonderful place to stay on the ground floor half of a double house.
Direct next to Sarphatipark. The place is very complete, with a fully equipped​ kitchen, a bathroom with tub / shower.
Piano, TV and WIFI all available.
Breakfast is NOT available from us.

Public transport: Near crossing of Tram 4 and tram 3.
Tram 4 runs between Amsterdam Centraal Station and Amsterdam RAI Station, both of them have a direct connection to AMS Schiphol Airport. Tram 3 connects to Amsterdam Amstel Station and runs along many mayor sites, such as Van Gogh museum, Rijksmuseum, Royal Concert hall​ and near Anne Frank's museum.
The inner city is at 500 meters distance, yet this place is very cozy​ and quiet.

Wonderful stay in central Amsterdam

Loved our stay at sven & claire’s place. The place is exactly as described. Not very big but that is to be expected in central amsterdam. We had everything we needed and whenever we had questions, our hosts were super attentive and helpful. Def recommend! ;)

A quirky apartment in a great location

The apartment is in a great location for walking in Amsterdam. The check-in process was quite cumbersome. The kitchen was nice and spacious. The living was a bit cramped but we were able to get comfortable. The second bedroom with the two twin beds is very small and should really only be listed for one adult. There is no place to store luggage there or put clothes. Laundry was great!

Nice, quiet retreat from downtown

This is an apartment on the bottom floor. It is peaceful and away from the hubbub of downtown but close to a huge park with a dog park and to restaurant and public transportation.

Great Hosts

We arrived at the apartment around 10am. Our hosts were very accommodating and let us check in early since the apartment was vacant and cleaned. This made our first day in Amsterdam so much better. The apartment was clean, beds very comfortable and the location was convenient. Enjoyable stay.

The apartment is in a fun part of town near a wonderful daily outdoor market that is many streets long, many cafes, restaurants, and bars. We walked all over from there and loved the location. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. The bath was wonderful - very deep. We cooked a bit. Sven was helpful and came down to answer our questions the first day. He was very laid back. There is a musty smell as others have mentioned. The couch is also not that big or comfortable but we were not hanging out there a lot so it didn’t really matter. There are large windows to the front but they don’t open. It’s fun to people watch though. You can open the door to the back from the bedroom but we didn’t since it was a bit damp outside. The apartment stayed naturally cool and we used one of the standing fans at night which worked well to keep us extra cool. It was just my spouse and me and that was perfect. We used the 2nd bedroom as our closet. It has 2 beds but they are not side by side. It’s crowded. I wouldn’t have 2 couples stay in the apartment but one couple with one or two children is probably fine.

Home away from home!

A very well equipped, comfortable ground floor apartment in a fantastic neighborhood! The host is very accommodating. Everything you need to have a great stay is provided. There are markets, a large street market & lots of restaurants within walking distance. We would definitely recommend it.

Nice property/Nice location

Property is in a nice location but small. We had 3 adults staying. Bathroom very clean. Supermarket nearby. A few blocks from the street market that is open in the morning until about 5:00 pm. There was a glitch with the reservation but that was my error and the host was accommodating which resulted in too short of a stay. :( Will definitely love to come back to explore further.

My husband and I were on a several day Amsterdam stop with our young adult child. This was the perfect place to stay. Everything was clean. We had everything we needed. Claire gave us helpful tips when we asked. There is a book of recommendations as well. I also appreciate that extras from other guests are allowed to remain. That helped us out on a short visit. Lastly, Claire was great to interact with regarding our arrival. Thanks for a great stay! And one last thing - we loved the benches out front and easy access to a park. Great bonuses in a more urban setting.

Lovely home, perfect location

We enjoyed our brief trip to Amsterdam and this home made it even more enjoyable. It is a comfortable place in a great location and we were very happy that there were no stairs to climb! I would definitely recommend this home to anyone.

A great place to stay and everything needed to cook and eat in. Also a lot of local dining options as well as a beautiful park to picnic at or just walk. Lovely quiet neighborhood close to the trams and museums.

Wonderful family stay

My husband, our 4-year-old daughter, and I had a wonderful stay at Sven and Claire's apartment. It was exactly as listed. Claire and Sven warmly welcomed us when we arrived and were helpful throughout our stay. The apartment is in a great neighborhood and next to a beautiful park. I would absolutely recommend staying here when visiting Amsterdam, especially with a small family.

A fantastic place

This is a charming little place in a great neighborhood with a large park just outside the door. It felt like home right away and we were sad to leave afterv only four days. The hosts are kind and helpful throughout the entire process, and all the property details where provided. If we are ever lucky enough to come back to Amsterdam we would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable flat. Great location

The flat was perfect for our family of four. Our bed was large and very comfortable, and Our sons each had their own bed in a separate room. The flat was well appointed. The location was great. The street was quiet, and in a great location three blocks from the Albert Cuyp market (a great place to spend a few hours) and close to a fantastic gelato store (Massimo Gelato). Walkable distance to many great sites. We would definitely rent here again.

In a heartbeat

The apartment became our home. We were able to settle in and relax. The location was easy, tram and bakery at the end of the block, and a great organic grocery down the street. We were close to town but not in the touristy center. My husband and I take baths and, without a doubt the apartment had the best bathtub we have ever experienced. My feet were floating! Heaven. Oh, a washer and dryer. Was it perfect? No. It was a little worn and being on the quiet street level people could see in but I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

What a lovely place this is! A gem right in Amsterdam. Quiet, convenient, park next door, easy access to trams. Kitchen was perfect - all that one needs. We used washer and dryer - after some Google translation - it was a snap. Bathroom was great. I wanted to take a bath in that lovely deep bath, but didn't have time. Contrary to other comments about it being musty - I had absolutely no sensation of this - even on rainy and cold days. I highly recommend this adorable little nook in a big bustling city.

Nice apartment— fantastic location!

Wonderful small suite. Close to the hosts but quite private. It’s small, but very well laid out and has everything you will need. But the best thing is the location— steps from Saphati Park and several tram lines, convenient everything.

Absolute wonderful stay

We stayed in de pijp at Claire’s home for one week. It was perfect. Plenty of space, tools for cooking, blankets to stay warm, it was an all around excellent experience. And the location is perfect. 4 min walk to local tram, 10 minutes to the metro.

Dated but Convenient

In general, the place was a good one to stay in. The location is fantastic - easy walks to restaurants, the tram, the park, grocery store and more. Getting into the city centre from the location was easy. Communication with the hosts was easy - Sven met us in the flat and walked us through it and they checked in the next day to make sure we had what we needed. You do hear them chatting and walking above your head, though, which was awkward. The flat itself, as others have said, is musty and dated. The floor had patches that looked like they'd gone through repair without matching the existing floor, the walls need a coat of paint, there was a section of wall missing around the radiator in the smaller bedroom. The window in the main bedroom had a crack in it. There's not really a good place for luggage if you're not staying long enough to justify unpacking - especially if you're traveling with larger bags. I was able to keep mine squeezed in between the wall and the bed, but my friend had to keep hers in the living room as there was nowhere for it in the second room. Bathroom is a good size with lots of storage. Water pressure is great. Nothing but towels is provided, so make sure to bring your own. Kitchen seemed to be functional, though we didn't use anything other than the microwave, dishwasher and tea kettle. The listing advertised a washer/dryer, but we looked throughout and didn't find either.
