Bella St Regis Oceanfront, North Topsail Island, Carolina del Nord

Hi folks. We are Tom and Lorraine. We discovered Topsail Island in 2006 while visiting relatives in the area. We are both prior military with a combined 47 years of service in the army/army reserves. We've traveled the world, seen many beaches and North Topsail beach tops them all. Lorraine is originally from Connecticut having spent all free summer days on the beaches of Long Island sound. She considers herself an ocean connoisseur. Tom is an avid skier and pheasant hunter, retired and will never leave the cold climate of the Midwest. But if Lorraine had it her way, she’d move to North Topsail Beach tomorrow.

The St Regis resort is built out of concrete which is a solid foundation. It has survived very well since it was built, where other complexes have not. The V shape of the building allows for a very private feel on the deck. In this particular unit, you won’t be looking at other people on their decks looking at you, but rather the ocean. This is just a wonderful view. You are looking at a long stretch of the ocean.... and it feels so private. The lot next door is empty, so the view is the best. Even better - the sun reaches the deck at around 9am so you can feel the warmth of the deck all day long. You can also be in the shade if you wish not to soak up the sun. And there is more - you can a front row seat to sunsets. All this from the deck. We love this view.
There are many units, that don't feel as private and are in the shade a greater part of the day. This is a bright and sunny unit.
We like being on the 2nd floor, which is really the 3rd floor. It’s just high enough so you have a nice view of the ocean and the beach - yet not too intimidating as a fifth-floor unit would be. You also have the option of using the stairs without getting worn out. There are elevators conveniently located everywhere. This level feels nice and cozy.
Inside, the condo had a nice beachie feel. We liked the tile flooring. It feels clean and is so much easier to keep clean.
The St Regis has many amenities not found at other complexes such as an indoor pool, weight room, sauna, outdoor pool, business internet room, video arcade, outdoor pools, a great restaurant and so much more.
All these made it an easier choice for us to pick the St Regis resort.
