This 1600 sq ft apartment resides in the larger 4800 sq ft. Alva Scoville Mansion. Built in 1905 and restored in 2015. This space blends historic details like exposed stone foundations and original wood beams with more modern finishes like stainless appliances and concrete counters as well as a modern custom shower juxtaposed with an original claw foot tub. The lofted space is located on the basement level (which is why it has those castle-like stone walls) but has its own entrance. Located just off Historic Jefferson and a short walk to the bustling restaurants, bars and nightlife of Historic 25th Street.

My husband and I (50+ YO) stayed at the Scoville Mansion basement loft for a month (Feb-Mar). We loved it…it was very charming inside and had every amenity you could ask for - our host, Jared, was awesome and very responsive when contacted. The location was excellent as you could walk to several restaurants, shops, and bars -great variety of food and entertainment. There are 3 ski resorts within 20-30 minutes and we had excellent time at all three - Powder Mountain was our favorite but the others were also great. We definitely would recommend this place and when we are back in Ogden we will definitely be staying here or in one of Jared’s other locations…you can’t go wrong with this property.
We’ve never been to Utah and we had a wonderful time Jared tallest places to go
Jared was a wonderful host,
Who’s our pleasure to stay at his house it was close to everything and he was very helpful on things to do because we’ve never been to Utah thanks again Jared
Very nice place for a long weekend in Ogden. The host Jared was very responsive and was nice enough to let us check in early once the apartment was ready. The apartment itself was spacious, clean and well stocked. Very unique and well decorated in a historic home close to the main drag and lots of bars and restaurants. Would absolutely stay again if we are back in Ogden and highly recommend!
We loved our stay in downtown Ogden. Close to many shops and restaurants in a fun area. The unit was clean, comfortable and had everything that we needed. Beds were very comfortable and we slept great. It is in a busy area so I would note that there was some weekend noise, but not that it affected our sleep. We would definitely stay again when we visit again.

Comfortable and close to downtown
It has a unique modern/industrial style that’s very well done and comfortable. It gets a bit cold due to it being a basement level unit. And if you have young children, as we do, be aware that the floor and walls are made of original foundation stone and concrete. It looks great. But you’ll need to keep an eye on your kids if they tend to trip or fall. Overall a fantastic rental. It’s close to downtown and is very comfortable. We had a great time.

Unique and Fun
Jared was a great and responsive host with whimsical taste.
You’ll feel like you are living in a cave. Lots of exposed rock and brick, stained concrete floor. Entry a challenge for tall people. Only clerestory windows so it’s dark.
But the beds are comfortable (if you like firm mattresses) , the kitchen copious and well equipped, the TV large, the decor kitschy. There’s a reel to reel tape recorder, a commercial popcorn machine and a manual typewriter in the living area.
Super-convenient parking right in front of the unit entrance.
The only thing that kept it from 5 stars is that occupants have no control of the heat. It wasn’t quite as warm as we would have preferred.
