Harlech Holiday Cottage with Spectacular Views | Sarn-Badrig
Location, location, location! If you're looking to spend your holiday in a beautiful coastal property then this historic Harlech holiday cottage with spectacular views could be the one. Originally built by the Bournville chocolate company for employee holidays, Sarn Badrig sits at the southern end of Harlech's four mile long sandy beach and enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted sea views and direct access to the beach via a path at the bottom of the garden.
The coastal town of Harlech is just a ten minute walk from the cottage. Known for its mediaeval castle and impressive golf course, Harlech is a small, friendly town with a variety of independent shops and cafes scattered along its picturesque high street.
Sleeping up to ten guests in five bedrooms, Sarn Badrig enjoys impressive sea views from almost every room. A real mix of old and new, this historic Harlech holiday cottage with spectacular views has retained many original features including wooden latch doors and slate flooring which add to its character, while a modern extension and wraparound glass balcony create a spacious, contemporary feel and make the most of the picture perfect location.
On the ground floor is a country style kitchen with views over the rear garden. Off the kitchen a hallway leads to three bedrooms; a bunk room, perfect for children with colourful beach themed curtains; a twin with vintage bed frames dressed with cosy Welsh blankets, and a double with subtle coastal themed decor, a feature vintage style bed and wonderful views. At the end of the hall is a shower room, as well as a bathroom with an original deep, sit-up bath that's surprisingly practical for bathing sandy children after a busy day at the beach!
Also on the ground floor is a spacious living-dining room with huge patio doors which flood the room with light. The large farmhouse style dining table and two comfy seating areas make this the ideal space for sociable family get-togethers.
Stairs lead off the living room to the lower ground floor where you will find a further two double bedrooms, one with ensuite shower room. These light, bright bedrooms feature another statement bed and a further large picture window and patio door leading directly into the garden.
The extensive gardens are simply stunning with multiple seating areas. Off the living room is a large wraparound veranda with a glass balcony designed to make the most of the uninterrupted sea views; to the side of the house a pleasant paved patio with outdoor furniture makes a perfect breakfast spot, while a second patio area boasts a large dining table, along with a built-in BBQ and a chiminea to ward off chilly evenings. Soak up the sun on the garden loungers, or relax under the shade of the mature trees, the choice is yours.
With parking for three cars, a spacious living area and plenty of outside space this Harlech holiday cottage with spectacular views is ideal for extended families or friends sharing, offering ample space to socialise both indoors and out.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
This Harlech holiday cottage with spectacular views is located at the end of a beautiful four mile long, sandy beach, a little over a mile from the centre of the town and within easy walking distance. With extensive gardens and direct access to the beach you could easily spend your whole holiday at Sarn Badrig itself, but if you prefer to get out and about there is plenty to do in the local area.
Harlech is known for its impressive clifftop castle; built in the 13th Century, the castle was once surrounded by the sea, today it is a UNESCO world heritage site and sits in the centre of this attractive little town. With a new visitor centre and Caffi Castell Harlech is well worth a visit and makes a fun day out for kids and adults alike. Combine a visit to the castle with a wander along Harlech's picturesque high street where you'll find a small selection of independent shops and cafes and a tempting ice cream parlour. Take a walk up Ffordd Pen Llech, one of the world's steepest streets, follow Meirion's trail, a series of carved ‘storytelling chairs', through the town, or enjoy the Harlech Nature Trail, a short round walk which winds it way through a pleasant woodland area.
Golfers may want to play the renowned Royal St David's course which sits below the castle, or visit nearby Porthmadog Golf Club. Children will enjoy a trip to Harlech leisure centre for a splash in the pool or to have a go on the climbing wall, and younger children will love a visit to nearby Llanfair Farm Park where they can get up close to a variety of small animals or have fun on the outdoor playground. Also in Llanfair the Slate Caverns provide the perfect wet weather activity; explore the underground tunnels with a self-guided tour through the man made caverns in one of the oldest slate mines in the world.
A short drive south will take you to the coastal town of Barmouth which is well worth a visit, or drive approximately 20 minutes north to the quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion, or a few minutes further to neighbouring Porthmadog, home of the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway; a further 10 minutes will take you to Criccieth where you can visit the ruined castle or enjoy lunch at Dylan's on the seafront.
