About this property

East Sooke Escape. Something for everyone fishing, hiking, kayaking or relaxing

Beautiful oceanfront, completely private one bedroom suite with king bed and fully equipped kitchen. Very tranquil, relaxing atmosphere in this brand new suite including quality furnishings and linens, with cleanliness and disinfecting our top priority. With a keyed entry you can arrive whenever it suits you. We live upstairs but your suite is completely separate, no access to the rest of our home. We have done a lot of soundproofing so you will hear very little noise from above. We will say Hi initially but you will have privacy during your stay.

Enjoy the amazing waterfront views from your private front yard. Watch the boats go by right out front or the sunsets at night. Private deck area with BBQ and table setting for outdoor lounging. Washer & dryer available so you can stay as long as you like.

Please Note: Our dock is ready with access to the water and boat moorage available on request.

We live in a beautiful part of South Vancouver Island, East Sooke is rural yet only 20 minutes to Sooke or 50 minutes to Victoria.

THINGS TO DO: There is so much to explore!

Surrounded by natural beauty with fishing grounds only 20 minutes away by boat , you can fish for sockeye, spring salmon, coho, pink or halibut.

East Sooke Park with it's great beaches and miles of hiking trails is right in our backyard! Golfing, kayak rentals at Rush Adventures, zip-lining at Adrenaline located at the historic 17 mile pub and swimming at Lake Matheson are all very close by. The Galloping Goose Trail is great for cycling as it is an old rail line so fairly level. It is 60 km long and runs from historic Leech Town in Sooke right into Victoria at the Johnson Street bridge.

THINGS TO NOTE:

Please bring your own groceries, If you do forget something, there is a local store is 10 minutes down the road and Sooke is only 20 minutes away.

There are several stairs to get into the suite so please be aware of mobility issues.

We live a quiet life and prefer non-partiers, sorry.

Wonderful property!

The beautiful accommodations are exactly as advertised. Super clean and well stocked! The grounds are magical and the view spectacular! We were even visited by a family of deer one morning! The hosts are there if needed otherwise your privacy is respected. Thank you so much Sharon! It was nice meeting you! Florence and Matt

Peaceful and wonderful

We stayed for 4 nights and it was just as-advertised. Clean, very well appointed, organized and responsive communication, great kitchen, very comfortable bed, private, nice outdoor spaces. Highly recommend. Beautiful beaches and hikes. My only advice to others is to make sure to get gas in Victoria or Sooke-- nothing else in between or up the coast until Port Renfrew and that one closes very early!

A Great Stay in East Sooke

Two of us stayed here at the beginning of July. Our two weeks here were very pleasant: The extremely clean lodging was stocked with all the kitchen supplies one could need for cooking. The location was near a variety of walking options as well as the East Sooke Grocer and General Store, and its outside food trucks. Furthermore, the view over the Sooke Basin was endlessly relaxing and entertaining. Thank you, Sharon and Joe!

Wow. Perfect spot

What a location. Water and peacefulness abound. The accommodations were very comfortable (and the coffee excellent). But the view of the water and the dock and lovely Sharon and Joe were the highlight. Highly recommend for an unplug vacation.

East Sooke Escape

We two were here for 10 days at the end of June. We enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment was perfect for us: - well-located for walking and exploring - immaculately clean - kitchen stocked with what you’ll need if you cook your meals - very quiet: insulated from any upstairs noise - view of the water right out your front window / patio The hosts, Sharon and Joe, are welcoming and pleasant. Should you prefer, access can be contactless.

Spectacular quiet getaway space..

I wish we'd had another day to just enjoy the property. The pictures are accurate - that view, the dock, the spacious living area are totally as described. We didn't get to meet the hosts, but Sharon was quick to respond to our enquiries. I recommend this rental whole heartedly. Also, it felt very clean - high on the priority list in this time of Covid.

Great place to relax in East Sooke

My wife and I stayed at this property for 3 nights after a couple days in Victoria. This was the perfect place to unwind after staying in the city! The property is picture perfect, and sitting on the dock enjoying our morning coffee was a great way to start the day. Would definitely stay here again.

Relax on the Dock With a Glass of Wine

Beautiful place! Inside and out! This is a very relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of Victoria. Nice to sit on the dock at night with a glass of wine and watch the boats go by.

East Sooke Escape - A little piece of heaven

This gorgeous suite, located steps from the water, was home base during our exploration of the lovely Victoria, BC area. The location is heavenly, and the suite has everything you need: well-appointed kitchen, full bath, washer and dryer, and the large windows in the bedroom offer breathtaking views of the bay. My husband loves boats and the water and spent hours on the private dock, watching the boats go out and return from a day at sea, while I enjoyed spotting jellyfish, starfish and crabs. Sunsets were amazing! The suite is stylish, cozy, and peaceful East Sooke was absolutely picturesque. Perfect place to get away and truly relax. Our hosts, Sharon and Joe, were wonderful! We can't recommend this place enough and will definitely be back!

Amazing Escape

This was just a excellent home away from home. I would stay here for the peacefulness and beauty of wildlife and ocean access. We will be back and next time for longer. The property was so private and beautiful and had all the necessities to cooking.

Wonderful escape

Beautiful house and location. Everything inside was spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed. The view from the windows was gorgeous and we frequently enjoyed the deer, bunnies, and quail wandering across the yard. Hiking and kayaking and whale watching are all available nearby and everyone we met were extremely nice. Even in the middle of summer, Sooke did not seem crowded. Loved the whole experience!

East Sooke Suite

Can't say enough good things about our wonderful stay in this spacious, modern and very clean waterside suite. We enjoyed beautiful vistas, wildlife and quiet isolation. We photographed a sea otter enjoying breakfast on the bank , an amusing display of clams squirting water and abundant sea life clinging to the dock at low tide. The location afforded easy access to East Sooke Regional Park which is breathtakingly beautiful. Sharon and Joe were very accommodating and were nice enough to lend us a tide schedule so we could visit Botanical Beach at low tide.

Perfect couple’s getaway in nature

We came to Sooke on a “Babymoon” to have some time together and away from home before the arrival of our first child. It was the perfect getaway: quiet, surrounded by nature, and somehow both cozy and spacious. Sharon and Joe were welcoming hosts, but also respectful of our time together - we really appreciated the gift of a fresh zucchini from their garden that awaited us when we returned home one day! We appreciated how clean everything was, with just the right amount of amenities (with extra snacks in the fridge when we arrived!) but enough space for us to unpack our things and relax. The surrounding area has a lot of rolling hill roads through forest, and just about any kind of hike you might be looking for. We were taking it easy, and enjoyed walking around Ayrland Farm as well as the Pike Road trails in East Sooke Park. The books and maps provided by our hosts were especially helpful in navigating all our options, including a book of secret lakes that led us to some other short hikes. We also enjoyed begin visited by deer, bunnies, a seal that swam around the dock every morning and a kingfisher! Can’t wait to come back when the dock is finished to get closer to the water. All in all, the perfect retreat for us, we hope to come back with our little one soon!

Beautiful new suite with gorgeous ocean view!

From the minute we arrived at this lovely suite we were met with wall to wall windows and amazing views. Sharon had stocked the fridge with eggs, bread, yogurt and fresh fruit, with fresh flowers on the table. This suite is very spacious and everything is clean and new. We knew we had found a true hidden gem. The kitchen has everything you could imagine, the bedroom continues with the views and the laundry room is better than my one at home. The bed sheets are luxuriously soft. Outside has great chairs to enjoy the morning sun and watch the boats go by and in the evening there is a wonderful spot with table and chairs that catches the sun till late in the evening. We saw seals swim by and a mom deer and baby fawn right outside the livingroom window. Sharon left a zucchini from her garden for us for supper and joined us for a glass of wine one night. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful place this is to stay and what a lovely couple Sharon and her husband are. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise!

East Sooke Away

Lovely spot. Great property. Away from it all….literally. Partial ocean view unfortunately given the vastness available of the basin. Peer takes away a bit of the view that is there but being able to access it is a plus.

Clean and cozy

The property is exactly as the pictures show. No issues with check in and finding the property. We did encounter 2 issues: 1. The post noted breakfast items (bread, fruit, yogurt) were to be provided daily but to also bring ones own groceries. After communication with Sharon I was told there was an error in the post and breakfast would not be provided (A small compensation for this would have been appreciated). 2. There was only 1 roll of bathroom tissue and 1 roll of paper towels. After contacting Sharon regarding the bathroom tissue she immediately brought us another roll. Other than those issues, all was worthwhile. Particularly, the views and sunsets were spectacular. I would stay here again.

Fantastic Stay

Exceptional vacation rental, exactly as pictured, well outfitted, and ideally located to some of the best hiking and biking trails. East Sooke is a fair distance from restaurant, grocery options so ensure you stock up before you arrive. The area is quiet and peaceful. Had a wonderful stay.

About the host

Host profile image
My husband Joe and I welcome guests to our beautiful oceanfront home. We feel blessed to live in East Sooke with it's natural beauty and wildlife and love to share it. Our kids are all grown up now so we converted their rooms into a separate completely private suite, it is brand new! My spare time is spent gardening, with flower gardens and a large vegetable garden which suits my other love of cooking as organically as possible. I also work as a bookkeeper right down the road in a great non-profit organization Royal Canadian Marine Search & Rescue.

Why they chose this property

When we were looking to purchase property we wanted waterfront, who doesn't! When we landed in East Sooke it was a fabulous May weekend and we fell in love with the natural beauty and serenity of the area. We can't imagine living anywhere else. If you love the outdoors this is the spot for you.

What makes this property unique

Amazing waterfront views from every window, relax and watch the wildlife!
