About this property
Beautiful Log Lakefront Lodge w/ Cove, Beach, Dock and Boathouse
Nestled in a stand of pine and birch on a secluded point overlooking Moosehead Lake in Maine. Moosehead Lodge was built over 100 years ago to be a summer residence for the Johnson and Johnson family. This magnificent 4,000 square foot lodge is used as a private residence by our family and we are pleased to make it available to families and gatherings during part of the summer and fall seasons. A vacation at the Lodge offers activities for all ages and interests: hikes on nearby wilderness trails; swimming and boating from our private dock and boathouse, wildlife photography, bird watching, antiquing, and simply enjoying the comforts of the Lodge and the pleasure of spending time with family and friends.

This is a really nice house in an awesome location. Close to town, but far enough away that it's not busy.
We even saw a moose swimming past the house one morning!!
We had a toddler and 8 adults and there was plenty of space for all. The kitchen is big and the dining room is huge! This was really a great place on the lake for a big group.
Beautifully well maintained and clean property that provided ample space for our party of six. Larger groups may want to take note of the bed sizes but for us it was plenty of sleeping accommodations. Huge decks, short, walk down to the incredible private dock. Very quiet and secluded location. The four kayaks were a great bonus! One of the best equipped kitchens of any property we have ever stayed in too!
Beautiful lodge with great views of Moosehead Lake from the wraparound deck. Well appointed kitchen. Large dock for swimming and sunning. Four kayaks. Lots of great hikes in the area. We will return.
Plenty of room for a large group and a great location on the lake yet close to town should one need. Nicely appointed with all the comforts one would expect.
We were a large group consisting of 6 adults and 4 kids between 4 and 7 years old. The property is large, very well located, and has a large dock that you will use every day for swimming and boating. The lodge is rustic, yet has updates compared to most similarly historic Maine cabins. The owner was easy to deal with and responded rapidly to any questions we had.

Great Lake house
We loved our stay at this home. It was big enough for our family of 11. The lake is beautiful, and the boathouse with dock was where we spent our days. Highly recommend this vacation house!

About the host
Hosted by Patrick Jackson
Moosehead Lodge is truly a magical place I call home. When I am away I make it available to guests to share this marvelous spot.
Why they chose this property
It is so inviting, and though spacious and accommodating to a number of guests, it is just as wonderful to be there alone. The boathouse and swimming dock provide a great place not just to swim, but to watch and listen to the loons, read a book, take a nap, visit with family, go out in the water in a kayak or canoe (provided), just enjoy all that is so special about Moosehead Lodge and Moosehead Lake.
What makes this property unique
The wilderness is at your fingertips, but the town of Greenville is only a few minutes away, with its fun places to eat and shop. So, you have the best of both worlds. The sky truly sparkles at night as there is no ambient light, so the stars are bright and the sky is truly magical to watch. Sunsets are magnificent on the lake and such fun to watch from our front porch. Gathering around the big fireplace in the living room at night is a great experience and the children love having their s'mores in the evenings.
