We have stayed at many villas and rentals in the Caribbean as well as in Europe, and this one is one of the best. If you like to get away from the touristy areas, and take things at your own pace, the location is awesome, with the beautiful Caribbean literally at your feet, a bus stop less than 100 yds away, and a grocery store just around the corner. It is also a very safe place to stay, and the people living around made us feel very welcome.
We did most of our grocery shopping at Moontown, just around the corner, and bought take out food at the little "deli" counter just outside it, to eat at home. The Fishpot, an excellent restaurant with very friendly and efficient service, was just a five minute walk away. We even walked to Speightstown from the villa, about half an hour. It is worth the visit, with its restaurants and bars along the beach.
We never needed a car, but did rent one for one day to do some sightseeing, and to purchase some more of the gorgeous pottery at Earthworks. Although this was our fourth visit to Barbados, there were still things we had never seen, such as the Wildlife Reserve https://www.barbadoswildlifereserve.com/ , the North Point Restaurant on the cliffs at the north end of the island, and the Atlantis, near Bathsheba.
Linda and Les are excellent hosts. They called us often just to see how we were getting on. Their property manager, Valdez, couldn't have been nicer, and was always available when needed. Linda, Les and Valdez were always keen to hear our suggestions, and would act on them when possible. For example, we mentioned to Valdez that it would be nice to have a lounge chair on the upper level, where we stayed, and within half an hour, had brought us one!
A small note; if you are planning to listen to music on your iPhone, you will need to bring an adaptor, as the sound system there uses the docking pad from an older model iPod. But, the sound of the waves was usually music enough for us!
We would definitely come back to the Sea Spray, and we would bring our whole family, too!
