Lovely home in Normandy

While this property was lovely in space and size, including outdoor area, and it was very central to Normandy beaches and all D-day museums & cemeteries, but my problem was the listing on this property was not upfront. Additional fees for linens and towels as well as an incorrect price on VRBO from the beginning made it significantly more than I was hoping for. We had a great time, and the house suited us well. There also was very little stocked in the house in terms of oil, coffee, tea, spices, salt/pepper, toilet paper, laundry soup, hand soap, etc. These things provided, as well as accurate all-inclusive pricing, would have made this a 5 star experience. Owner does not communicate in English, but we muddled through and did email through Google translate. I can't fault her for that but it is good to know in advance.

Fantastic house which is well equipped and very clean. The patio was a sun trap and garden was great

This is a great house. It is big and roomy and well equipped. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The garden was fantastic with BBQ table tennis and large seating area. The kids all loved the large grass garden and play frame. The location was great - beatiful bayeaux and some great beaches very close by and all the historical sites from d-day.

Great house for large group

We have just come back from a stay here as a group of 13. This is a great house in a great location. Close to Omaha beach and Bayeux, and within easy reach of the other D-Day beaches and beyond. We were 7 adults and 6 children (aged 3 - 17). The bedrooms were large and spacious, as was the kitchen/dining area. There was also a large garden with swings and a slide to keep the kids entertained! The only downside was that there was only one WC upstairs between 11 of us, although there were another 2 toilets downstairs so not a big issue. The bathrooms, WCs, Kitchen and bedrooms were nice and clean, although some areas of the house could have a bit more attention to detail (for example there were dead flies on the window sill in the dining room) and the crockery, utensils and towels were a bit tired. However, we were overall happy with everything. This is a great house and is reasonably priced, and I would recommend to anybody, and would consider staying here again.

Familienhaus in guter Lage

Das Haus ist gut gelegen, ruhig an einer Landstraße, 1,2 km nah zum Dorf mit Mini-Supermarkt, Bäcker etc., private Parkplätze sind vor der Tür. Die Landungsstrände der Normandie liegen 15-30 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt, soweit in etwa auch die nächste, größere Stadt/Supermarkt. Hinter dem Haus ist ein Garten mit Walnussbaum und Liegewiese. Die Sitzmöbel draußen könnten gepflegter sein, auch haben wir Sitzkissen und Auflagen für die in die Jahre gekommenen Liegen vermisst. Die Tischtennisplatte ist gut erhalten, der Petanque-Platz bräuchte definitiv etwas Pflege und neue Kugeln. Die Einrichtung des Hauses ist eher praktisch gehalten, statt hochwertig…aber es war für unseren 1 wöchigen Aufenthalt mit 2 Familien völlig in Ordnung. Einige Sitzmöbeln im Haus (z.B. die Barhocker) müssten bald ersetzt werden, da unbequem und wackelig. Das Haus wurde vor einigen Jahren renoviert/saniert, insbesondere die Bäder und die vielen Schlafzimmer haben einen guten Eindruck hinterlassen. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist in Ordnung, aber es gab leider weder Gewürze, Öl/Essig, noch ausreichend Spülmittel, Küchenrolle oder Tabs für die Spülmaschine. Wünschenswert wären Fliegennetze an den Fenstern, denn es gab sehr viele Mücken abends in den Räumen. Der Kontakt zu Béatrice (ausschließlich Mail, kein persönlicher Kontakt) war freundlich und nicht zu beanstanden. Die Schlüsselübergabe und Bezahlung der Wäschepauschale wurden problemlos über einen Schlüsselsafe abgewickelt.

Une semaine en Normandie

Nous avions choisi le gite de Béatrice : * pour la prestation décrite (5ch - 3 salles de bains -grand séjour - et salon ). le gite est très propre. * Pour son emplacement entre la pointe du Hoc et Ouistréham. Près de Lisieux et pas loin de Caen. Aussi nous avons pu visiter Omaha beach, lisieux, le mémorial de Caen, Arromanche etc. Et une immersion dans l'arrière pays . En plus du Beau temps donc une excellent semaine dans un gite excellent.

Absolutely first rate

The property is superb. My friends and I, 5 of us on motorcycles, had a wonderful stay. Important for us was the secure parking round the back of the property out of site of the main road. The location was perfect for our needs with most of the D-Day sites we wished to visit within easy distance. The property itself is light and airy, the rooms comfortable and spacious with communal spaces if required. Very well maintained. None of us had any complaints. Recommended.

Summer Holiday

Lovely big property just outside the village. The house is very spacious and had everything we needed. Safe securely fenced garden for the children to play out with no worries. We enjoyed local walks and trips to the local sights.

Superb accommodation in amazing location.

A lovely house that catered well for our family of 12 ranging from 6-62. The spacious garden and ping pong table kept the children well entertained, the bbq was a hit and the sleeping arrangements were perfect. Lovely decor throughout the house - almost wish the weather wasn’t great just to use the fire - and a well equipped kitchen. Perfect location for the Bayeux Tapestry and the D-Day landings giving us plenty of opportunity to explore and learn. Would be more than happy to stay there again in the future. The host was great to communicate with and the option of the end of stay clean helped to take some pressure of us at the end.
