Ways to Explore Dog-Friendly Franklin with Your Pup:
Dog-friendly hikes in the Smoky Mountains:
No visit to the Smoky Mountains is complete without a hike! Most trails are pet-friendly so long as your furry friend is leashed and cleaned up after. If you’re not sure how much of the trail your dog can manage, we suggest starting with a shorter hike like the one-mile Rufus Morgan trail, Cliffside, Whiteside, or (if you’re looking for a bit more of a challenge) the four-mile Bartram trail.
Dog-friendly restaurants:
Motor Company Grill—not only will you relish the old-timey diner’s burgers and shakes, but Fido also gets a menu of his own on the pet-friendly patio!
The Lazy Hiker and Currahee Brewing—which have large patios for you to kick back with a beer and some food-truck nachos to share.
Dog parks for leash-free romps:
Franklin has a brand-new dog park on Phillips Street, just down the hill from Main Street. It features separate spaces for big and small dogs, public restrooms, and even a walking trail around the exterior for those who’d like to stroll during the walk.

Here is some local feedback.
Tellico trout farm and Andy’s trout farm. For catch and pay. And the rivers of course. The other side of Wayah Rd is always full of fly fishermen. And Cherokee has the cheap day licenses and stock the river every week, not sure which day they stock it but it’s never good the day they stock it, they’re not hungry yet. Also have always caught fish at the KOA campground ponds in Cherokee.
