Home was very clean. Maid must have forgotten to put pillow cases in one of the bedrooms, but we all make mistakes. Had a great visit with family from 4 different states. Would rent again if going to that area. Maybe next time I'll be used to the high mats by the stove and sink. (I kept tripping on them). They were very comfortable to stand on.
My siblings and I gathered for a family wedding in Shinglehouse and this property was a great location for us to spend a few days together! The house was large enough for the 6 of us- and could easily have accommodated more. The kitchen was well furnished with plenty of eating and cooking supplies. The oven did not work, but we contacted the host and it should be fixed for the next renters.
The location was quiet and in the middle of a Christmas tree farm!
We appreciated having a spot in a "remote" location so that we could gather from Michigan, Arizona, Tennessee and New York states.
The house was large and well-equipped! The bedrooms were all large and the beds were comfortable! The setting was wonderful in the middle of a Christmas tree farm.
4 siblings and spouses met to attend a family wedding and spend a few more days together.
The oven in the main house did not work, but it was resolved. The house is not new, but everything except the oven worked well. The property was large and there was plenty of easy parking.
It worked wonderfully for our gathering!
Enjoy a short pleasant stay. Perfect for our needs

Barking dogs, windows won't stay open
Two days before we were supposed to arrive, I had asked a couple of questions of the owner and he said "you do know that there is a full time tenant in the basement" which. was a surprise to me. He said she works and is very quiet. None of the four of us saw that in the specifications when we made the reservation. The owner had edited his description after we made the reservation to make that statement become more prominant. I said we would try it out and went with a positive attitude.
When we arrived, there were two dogs barking in the basement and after back and forth with the owner, someone came to be with the dogs so they would not bark. Then there were internet and connectivity issues and we went back and forth on that. An unvaccinated person came in to reset the internet and we pleasantly asked them to wear a mask or leave the room.
When the tenant returned from work at 11:30 PM, she was having an hour long conversation which was loud enough to be heard above her in my bedroom. The owner did offer to give us our money back that first day and mentioned a nearby motel that had space. We had a refrigerator full of food that would have been wasted and one of our party is disabled so we decided to stay.
There were fans available, both ceiling and window, but many of the bedroom windows would not stay open and needed to be repaired. The oven was filthy and the dishes on the shelves were all grimy and needed to be washed before use. It is not clear that all bedding besides the sheets is washed between uses, and the blankets and bedspreads did not smell clean. The tenant and the owner were pleasant during interactions, but this is not worth the money that was charged.
several of the originally planned travelers didnt go so it was probably more house than we needed. We were wanting tobe together so seperate hotel rooms didnt appeal to us and we were able to be together with plenty of room to share. Instructions said to furnish our own towels and paper products which we did but it was a tight fit to pack everyone/luggage in the car and when we arrived found there was a plentiful supply of tp. The beds werre comfortable and we slept well and had breakfast together in our PJs
we stayed the weekend at this property and was so happy woth the space for our group and cleanliness of the property.
the house is just a little ways out of town and a great base of operations for all the great places to visit in the area.
will definetly be returning - thank you for a great weekend!!
This house was perfect for our little PA getaway. It was close to everything we wanted to do. Perfect for families.

Bring your own AC unit and toilet brush
We made our journey to this VRBO home in search of a resting place during my groups annual Cherry Springs star gazing trip. The house is in a decent location, it’s about 15-20 minutes from town where the grocery store and liquor store is. Additionally there was plenty of space for our group. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning, and it gets quite warm - additionally many of the windows don’t stay open, have no bug screen, or simply won’t budge(with no knowledge of this we had a lot of guess work) We were able to find comfort after sundown by setting up window fans we found in the closets, but this was not our initial expectation. We even scrubbed thick caked on dust from some of the fan units. The kitchen was mostly stocked with cookwear but did not have any paper products. What’s worse is the BATHROOMS HAD NO TOILET PAPER... after a trip that was several hours in a car we couldn’t relieve ourselves until after a journey to the super market. There are also no towels on the premises, so remember to bring your own.
After our trip we spent the morning before our departure cleaning up after ourselves, sweeping, mopping, putting away dishes. I was greated by a very aggressive message from the owner telling me we left the house filthy. Imagine my surprise... 8 GUESTS spent their last day of a relaxing trip cleaning your home. Maybe we should have scrubbed your toilets too... unfortunately the property owner has yet to reach out and let me know what was left in poor condition. Based on the rude treatment and warm-semi uncomfortable conditions my group and I will not be returning.
The 4 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath ranch layout allows adequate space for family gatherings in a convenient Potter County location. The owner Rob is attentive in responding to guest's needs and in addressing concerns. I'd recommend this property to anyone needing practical accommodations in the area for families and small groups.
