When you enter this newly renovated, luxury, oceanfront, penthouse condo on the Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head border, the view of the Atlantic Ocean is breathtaking. Turtle Tides is the ultimate getaway – ideal for a couple looking to relax and enjoy the gorgeous oceanfront that this retreat has to offer. Perfectly located with direct beach access, this oceanfront gem is just steps away from multitudes of dining options that are sure to tempt your taste buds. Not to be overlooked is the beautiful, in-ground swimming pool just outside your door and an eclectic mix of shops and family-friendly events for all to enjoy within a few minutes drive from Turtle Tides. Unwind as you start each day watching the sunrise from the balcony while sipping your coffee, watch the dolphins frolic and play, listen to the seagulls overhead and at the end of a fun-filled day drift off to sleep listening to the waves gently washing upon the shore.

Turtle Tides can comfortably sleep two (one queen bed). The kitchen is stocked with appliances and cooking utensils that are sure to please any short-order cook or chef.

Wonderful winter time get away

We had such a relaxing time staying at Turtle Tides. Nothing can beat the view and the sound of the ocean waves from the deck. The hosts had a lot of great information available for us - many great restaurant recommendations. Off season at the beach is so magical. I really enjoy the quiet time to reflect at the end of the year.

Great place on the ocean and centrally located

The condo is decorated so nicely in the beach/turtle theme and is a very pleasant place to stay! We loved having coffee in the morning on the deck while watching the sunrise over the ocean and being able to walk right out onto the beach. The view is wonderful. The location is centrally located to explore both North and South parts of the outer banks and within walking distance to many restaurants. The owner was very responsive, and checked in several times over our short 3 days to to be sure all was perfect for our stay. We can't wait to bring family back next time! Be aware that the there are a fair amount of stairs to climb to get in, so those with mobility issues may have trouble

Home away from home

Turtle Tides was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful views and a amazing place to stay. Wonderful communication with the owner. We were very happy with location and private access to the beach. Would 100% recommend to anyone wishing to live the coastal lifestyle for your vacation.

Great week long retreat from the grind of life!

Turtle Tides is a great 3rd floor penthouse for two. We enjoyed the full kitchen, direct beach access from our private deck and the great views. No need to walk down the stairs to the beach, just walk out and enjoy a hot cup of tea listening to the ocean waves from the balcony. Also Gene’s picks for places to eat are spot on! Will be going back for sure!

Great location, centrally located so short drive either way to all the sights you want to see. Fantastic hosts, well maintained, well stocked, right on the beach. Beautiful sunrises, would definitely stay again.

Great couples get away

If you need that get away weekend for two, you will be hard pressed to find a better place. My wife and I celebrated our 37 years together and this place was perfect for the two of us. Clean and from the deck the view was fantastic.

Great little getaway

Wonderful location for a OBX getaway. Property is quiet, clean, and comfortable. The view on the private porch is spectacular. Owners were helpful and responsive. Definitely would like to return!

Turtle Tide is very cozy. Great view, clean and comfy. Perfect place to catch the morning dolphin show. Thanks to Gene and his wife for allowing our stay and the souvenir cups were a great touch! Would love another stay.

Excellent vacation spot

My wife and I stayed in this vacation rental while we ran the OBX marathon. Absolutely beautiful get away spot. Perfectly located for great dining. While recovering from the race we enjoyed watching movies with the ocean in view from the couch. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy the outer banks.

Great location

Perfect spot, right on the KDH / NH line. Direct beach access from the balcony is amazing. Place was as advertised and very clean upon arrival. Gene even hooked us up with some Turtle Tides coffee mugs, a great subnet to remember the great time our family had!

Good, clean

It was clean and the living area was spacious. It was not "5 star" though - the countertop in the kitchen is peeling; the frig is pitted/stained. Doesn't affect the use, but not nice looking. TV service was spotty; internet went down for several hours. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay.

Spectacular Experience

The condo was beautifully decorated, clean, and the views were spectacular. The whole rental process from start to finish was seamless. The sheets and towels that were provided were an added bonus! The only thing I would suggest to enhance the experience would be either a larger bed (we are tall) or a more comfortable mattress. We will definitely be going back to stay there again!

Turtle Tides Lifts The Human Spirit

Had a great time at Turtle Tides and we will definitely return. The beach was just steps away from the property. Conveniently located with privacy and quiet. Watched the sunrise most mornings from the property deck. Great place for a couple. For those wanting a change of pace from the ocean, the on site pool is a great addition. Unit is nicely furnished and decorated. Kitchen well equipped. Grocery stores and shopping nearby. Communication with Gene was excellent.

Awesome vacation!

Our vacation was everything I had hoped for. The condo was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and clean. The views from the deck are amazing. We watched dolphins swimming in the ocean from our deck. Gene, the host, did an excellent job of preparing us for our visit by providing clear instructions, great recommendations and was available if we needed anything. This was my first time using VRBO as we always used hotels on vacation. I am sold, the warm home environment and thoughtful preparation of the condo beats a hotel. We will be back!
