Clean and well equipped property. The proximity to the shuttle stop was awesome. The rooms, all of the amenities and the host were top notch. I would definitely choose this rental again.

Great over all

We had a great stay here and basically only wish was that property was closer to the lifts, obviously the owners can’t change that and keystone makes it hard to use anything but the buses to get around. (The buses are free at least.) The pool was nice but there was only one small hot tub and it was out of order, once again was not directly on the owners but that is what you get with this building.Everything was very clean and fairly well stocked. We liked how they labeled the cupboards so we could actually use the kitchen without it being so hard to find stuff. The condo and building is definitely older but they did a good job of remodeling and keeping it functional.

Great Layout!

This is a fantastic condo with a great layout for families with young adult kids. The kitchen is nicely furnished. The bus stop is super convenient. The living area is perfect for everyone to lounge and visit. We had planned to eat out every night but once we got in the condo we decided to cook in since the space was so perfect. That saved us a lot of money. Check in was easy but only one key was left for our group so we had to make multiple stops by the office to get more keys and towels which was inconvenient. Load in and out is a bit of a chore as it is an interior building with keyed access and stairs. But, it was worth it and we would stay again. Very odd, body bag sized laundry bags in the downstairs bedroom -- perhaps those were left over from the previous guest? These are all just minor inconveniences for an overall great stay. I misunderstood that you had to leave the keys behind in the lock box for the next guest (which would explain perhaps why only one key was left for us) so I got a note from the owner that the next guest was not able to check in. I feel badly about that! Seems to be an unsafe practice of reusing electronic keys - I would think the management company would reset and place new keys each time. It also seems a bit burdensome to rely on your previous guests for your future guest's arrival experience.Truly though, I only provide these small items as an FYI to be helpful to others. This is a must stay property overall.

Wine in the Pines event

We attended the 40th Wine in the Pines event with 8 family adult members and the condo was perfect. Plenty of room for all and the short walk to the conference center made our trip convenient. Condo was well stocked and beds were comfortable. We will be back! Penny was extremely responsive.

Good location

We spent two weeks at this condo. Well stocked kitchen. Beds were also very comfortable. Main TV system in living room was difficult to navigate. We just stopped trying to use it. Interaction with host could have been better. First question took a few days for response. We prob would not book upper level of condo again if you have small children. It’s generally tougher to manage family life on an upper floor.

PERFECT FAMILY RETREAT!

This condo was ideal for our family with 6 adults and two children spanning 3 generations. The condo itself was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Plenty of pots, pans and dishes in the kitchen. Games, puzzles, and children’s toys available. In-unit laundry was a plus with small children. Host was responsive to questions before our trip. Directions for check-in and check-out were clear and things are well labeled within the unit. Lakeside Village was quiet as we were there at the beginning of “shoulder season.” Few people and very little activity in the complex. Coffee shop, pizza place and shop with Keystone merchandise a short walk from condo. We also saw a black bear roaming the parking lot one night as we returned from dinner (our headlights sent him/her scurrying away!)

Very large, great location

We stayed with several family members and were impressed with how large this unit was. The condo is close to the bike/ walking trails which was great since we brought our e-bikes. There is a small lake/pond where the grandkids rented paddle boats which they enjoyed. They also took advantage of the indoor pool a few times. Since we were coming from several states, we had 4 cars. That was a bit inconvenient as had to park at the River Run parking lot which was the nearest free lot. The North parking lot across the highway was not available for free parking (I asked a Keystone worker) but I imagine in the winter, it may be available. The conference center lot is $25 if staying overnight there. But we made it work with some self-shuttling. Overall, highly recommend. p.s., we even saw a black bear out the lower bedroom window that made its way towards the ski area.

Great Condo!

Amazing condo so close to fun! Bigger than the pictures let on. Check in was a little tricky and there was only one parking pass for 10 people, but the free lot is just over the main road. Would stay again.

Great Ski Vacation Location

This property is a fantastic place for your ski vacation. 100 feet from the shuttle that is on time every 20 minutes. Place was clean. Beds were comfortable. Indoor heated pool and hot tub just a short walk away. Ski locker was great downstairs too. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering a perfect place for a Keystone ski trip. -Brian M.

Family Ski Trip

The property is nice and close to the ski resort, just a short car ride away. We chose not to use the shuttles with trying to move kids. It was clean and spacious. We really enjoyed our time there together. The only issue we had was that we brought up a third car and found out the parking at the conference center wasn't free. The host rectified the situation and was very responsive. Thanks for a great stay!

Great place, great location, difficult directions

This property was clean and comfortable and met our needs for a friends ski trip over a long weekend. For skiers, the shuttle stop is very close or walk to Keystone lifts in about 10 minutes. My only complaint is the owner/manager didn't provide clear check-in directions in regards to finding the unit. Future renters should know there are no numbers on the building, but clearly marked "Decatur" on the building, which is much more useful. Also, laundry is not available in the unit if you have a longer stay. Other than check-in frustration, a very pleasant stay.

About the host

Hosted by Penny McDill

Host profile image
Mike and Penny are the owners and celebrating 50 years of marriage. We have four grown and married children and eight grandchildren ages 23 to 1. We love to ski and mountain bike. The photo is of a recent Leadville 100 race where our son and daughter competed. Another daughter and son-in-law as well as Penny and Mike went along as support. And of course five of our grand children.

Why they chose this property

We see this property as a great find for both our family and as a VRBO property. It is large enough for large groups with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. No one need sleep on a fold out couch. We purchased the property January 30, 2019.
The property is within a close walk to Keystone Lake and shops as well as the ski area. You can hop on the free shuttle or take a short walk. The lake area has all kinds of fun activities and of course the skiing at Keystone is fantastic.

What makes this property unique

Our property is personally managed by us. We live nearby in Glenwood Springs, CO and check on our property frequently.
The wall of windows in the front room provide and amazing mountain view and the location is near all the action.
