Donna and Robert have such a great retreat in a secluded location. The stay was great, we appreciated being able to bring a pet and use the boat dock daily! Donna gave great tips for staying in the area and the cabin worked perfectly for our get away! We will be back!!

Honeymoon cottage
We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a great time! The cottage is beautiful, has just about everything you need....all you need is your towels & groceries and is very clean, maintained!! The surrounding area is very scenic...close to state parks, Macinaw City is close, saw salmon jumping out of the water at the dam. You can do as little as you like, or find plenty to do nearby.
Donna is a great resource for what is in the area and has great recommendations.
We are talking about going back next time with family. Very spacious for 2 people, plenty of room for a group of 6 -8.
Hope to come back next time with a boat to explore more! Highly recommend a stay here!
We arrived and someone else was inside the house we had rented for June 29-July 6th. I went and talk to a women named Donna but she seemed confused and had no idea we were suppose to be renting a house on her property. I talked to her for about 3 mins and I had to go check on my kids and tell my mother and husband that we no longer have a house. My kids were all screaming bc we had been in the car for the last 6 hours and I just got in my car and left because I had to find a place to stay at least for a night so we all could get out of the car. However, I kept getting a call from Florida after a few hours and didn’t answer right away because again 3 kids needing to eat and get some energy out after the drive and a place to stay. I finally call him back around 8 pm and he just gave me the ick. When he answered he says, I was going to fix the problem but you didn’t answer any of my calls and kinda chuckled about it. That’s when I was like no I do not want to rent your house nor do I want to even go back to that awkward situation. I still have not received a refund or a check and it’s been about 2 weeks. I wasn’t even going to review or waste my time but I’m starting to think I won’t be getting the money.

Deceiving
The cabin was very cozy and it was great to have wood for the fire pit and a washer and dryer available. What was so very disappointing was that the overhead pic of the property shows the owners house which is literally a stones throw away from the cabin you rent AND in order to access the waterfront, you need to go through their yard. It was uncomfortable. The site reads there was a pontoon available but that wasn't there either. It includes a fireplace which the owner said someone melted a plastic bottle on but apon a better look, it need to be hooked up to propane. We were looking for a nice quiet getaway and the one of the owners came and left on a motorcycle often. If you don't mind all of the above, it was a nice cabin to stay in. It DEFINITELY wasn't what we thought we were getting. We left 3 days early and found another cabin that met our needs.
Everything we needed. Don't forget to bring your own towels. Donna and Bob were friendly and helpful. Property seems secluded but minutes to shopping. We brought our boat and the Cheyboygen River and Mullet Lake were nice. Drove boat down to Lake Huron from the river. You can dock your boat at owner's house which is next door. Loved the covered porch. Water is a bit smelly but not a big deal.
Checked in, cabin was dirty. Hadn’t been used in awhile. Wi-Fi was barely existent. Donna, lady running the place, was rude to my sister and her dog, didn’t stay two days before getting a lodge for a week. Person needs to understand it’s 2022, some things are just mandatory at this day and age. Very underwhelming, almost feel like we got scammed. Was not worth the money, PLEASE don’t go to this cabin.
Great location, quiet but close to the town and the river. Enjoyed evening campfire, sitting on the porch and cooking meals in the cabin. The host is friendly and helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Glass bottom boat ride in Cheybogen was great. Close to several area activities or just relax at the cabin. We did both for having a great vacation. Will return again.
The owner Donna was an adorable person and very hospitable. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed campfires at night and boat rides and fishing during the day. The dock was perfect for our 18 foot Lund. Cabin is a short boat ride to Mullet lake. We highly recommend this and would consider booking again in the future.
This was an ideal home for the sight-seeing day trips we made, including Petoskey, Sault Ste Marie, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinaw City, and so on. The home is very well equipped. Due to Covid we cooked and ate at the cabin and had everything we needed. We enjoyed bonfires with our kids at the fire pit. The kids loved the outdoor games like corn hole and a rope toss. The beds were comfortable and we slept great with the quiet surroundings. The dock is perfect, no concerns with depth for my boat or motor. The owner and her son were very friendly and Donna gave us very useful local tips.
Very nice property. This cottage is located behind the owners place which is located on the Cheboygan River. Probably 50 yard walk from cottage to the river. Dock on river was provided for our Tritoon. It’s about a 10 min boat ride up the river to Mullett Lake. Cottage was clean and had all the utensils you need. Good fridge with ice maker. Owner, Donna, was very nice and helpful with questions. Our dog loved it. Fire pit and firewood provided and we used it several nights. Charcoal grill also provided. We took advantage of that also a few nights. Would definitely recommend this property to others.
Spent a week long summer vacation at the Waterway cottage and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The wrap around porch was a favorite gathering spot along with the fire pit and seating area just off the porch. Donna and Robert were very gracious and friendly hosts.

Quiet Space
We loved the porch area and the owner Donna, however there were a few things less then perfect for the amount of money we paid. We were hoping to find a place where we could book for next year, but this was not the place.
The cottage was very well stocked with everything you need except bring your own towels. Location was great and on a quiet private road. The cottage sits behind the owners house on a creek that flows into the beautiful Cheboygan River and only about a half to 3/4 of a mile from Mullett Lake. The owner was very nice and accommodating giving us access to the river through the owners yard and the use of 2 kayaks. We already have plans to return next year. Can’t wait!
Most enjoyable week at the cottage! Very quiet and well stocked with everything needed for the week. Donna, is a wonderful host, we will stay there again. Oh by the way the location on the river is perfect for getting into Mullett Lake or just cruising the river. The dock easily accommodated our tri toon.
Good time as advertised. Dog friendly. Close to all northern Michigan has to offer. Boat access to Cheboygan River and Mullet Lake. Plenty of room for family of four and two dogs.

A wnderful place!
If you want a great cottage, stocked with everything you need, this is the place. It is very clean and in a beautiful location. We did not have small children but if you do, this place has a porta crib and high chair and a cozy loft for older kids and guests. The appliances are new, the fride even has an icemaker. The kitchen has everything you would need. The main bedroom was cozy and comforable. Loved the wrap aorund porch, fire pit worked well, wood was provided and has a grill attached plus a charcoal grill available. The creek that ran by the cottage was serene. The river was a short distance away and this is a great cottage if you have a boat or kayaks/ canoes. The host Donna is friendly, and knows much about the area and made sure we had all we needed and everything was fine with our stay. The cottage is in a great location for day trips ot Mackinaw Island, Mackinac City, The UP, Drummomd Island, Petosky and Traverse City. Cheboygan and the area lakes are fun to explore.
We highly recommend this cottage, and plan on returning. Thanks to Donna for a wonderful stay.

A peaceful location in northern Michigan
Nice central location in the upper part of the lower peninsula. Just south and outside of Cheboygan, remote but easy access to grocery stores or restaurants. Location was perfect for day trips to Mackinaw City (18 miles), Petosky (45 mins.), Indian River (20 mins.). Great outdoor porch area and fire pit for the evenings....right on the Cheboygan River (nice spot for evening cruises on the water way if you have access to a boat). Interior of the cabin is a typical northern Michigan cabin....plus the necessary amenities (washer/dryer, internet). Small galley kitchen had everything we needed. Main bedroom on the main floor was small and comfortable. Our temperatures were in the mid 70s to a low of 55...windows were open the entire time....there was fan for the evenings when the temps were warm.
The cabin met all of our expectations!
