Step back in time in this lovely historic cottage in Elsah, Illinois. You will have entire private use of an upstairs apartment above a ladies' clothing boutique. The unit features high ceilings, bead board paneling, old wavy glass windows, a full kitchen with dishwasher, stove, microwave, and refrigerator & in unit laundry, 2 bedrooms (one full and one queen) and 2 twin beds in the living room (daybed and trundle). Wifi and TV are provided. The location is just on the main village road. Linens, dishes, towels provided. Not suitable for children under 10 or those with limited mobility as the apartment is on the upper floor and the main stairway leads directly into the apartment.

Such a quaint, comfortable apartment in beautiful Elsa’s. Julia was a perfect host and gave us an excellent restaurant choice as well. Loved our anniversary weekend there.

Cozy little appartement in Elsah

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy little Elsah apartment. Elsah is a neat little town with a lot of history. We enjoyed walking around the town. The upstairs apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend getaway

I booked this property for my birthday weekend. It was so cute and decorated in a French style. It was fully stocked and very cozy. It’s close to Grafton and Alton. The town of Elsah alone is worth the stay. Thank you for a great stay.

We loved our stay at Suite Jane. The building and the inside were charming. Everything was decorated beautifully and was clean as could be. There were even items left for us to use; s&p, oil, coffee/tea, body soap and more. Thank you!

Awesome All-Around

This place was perfect! The care that the owners have taken to restore the property to a lovely historical apartment is apparent. In addition to being beautiful, the apartment was impeccably clean and provided easy access to both the nearby nature trails and St. Louis. For people who like having a quiet place to stay in the evening and easy access to a variety of things to do during the day, you can't ask for a better spot.

Bridal suite beauty

Found this charming dollhouse of a property for our bridal suite for our September wedding! The apartment is absolutely charming and beautiful! Our bridesmaids got ready here and had a great time soaking in all the frills and adorable theming. It felt like stepping into a vintage dollhouse. It is surprisingly spacy, even with 10 girls we did not feel cramped at all when getting ready! The owner was so kind and left us a little surprise for our wedding! We cannot wait to see the amazing photos!

Lovely place, lovely setting!

My daughters and I came here for a conference at Lewis and Clark College which was hosting some of our favorite authors. The home is located in Elsah, a little burg about 40 minutes west of St. Louis and just a skip away from the Mississippi River. The place is too cute and had everything we needed. We ate out most nights but the kitchen was well-equipped, so we had breakfast and a few dinners in. We enjoyed going to the Botanical Gardens and the St. Louis Archway during our stay, and we also spent time shopping, antiquing, and seeing the sights in nearby Godfrey and Alton. We all had such a great time and hope we can stay in the Suite Jane again. It was just perfect!

Loved this charming property!

I just left this morning after staying 5 days. A friend and I stayed together while we were attending our college reunion at Principia. It was peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed the break from all of the reunion festivities. I appreciated all of the extra little touches that were included. When I've rented properties before I've had to provide things such as soap, tissues, shampoo, a sponge, and dish soap. It was nice to have all of those provided. The apartment was charming and had many interesting design elements. We were still discovering things we hadn't noticed this morning. I would recommend this property!

We love Elsah and the river road and visit both every time we come to Alton to see family. This time we were delighted to find this quaint and distinctive apartment to stay in atop a fabulous clothing store located in the main area of Elsah. Staying there gave us a chance to have an intimate visit with a few family members, play board games and take pictures of ourselves in the lovely attire we purchased in the fun store downstairs amidst the French country decor! We highly recommend and will no doubt return!
