Beautiful Spot

We very much enjoyed this location and spot for camping close to Blueridge. The Covered Porch was a great spot for cooking and staying out of the wind and weather. Would definintely recceomend and return again if we went back to Blueridge, very close drive to town.

Great camping spot near Blue Ridge

We had a great time staying here. The only issue we had was the neighbors dog kept wandering over freaking our dogs out. The neighbors dog also got in our trash while we were out one time.

Wonderful camping experience, fun for the whole family!

We had a great family time with our three children and two dogs! The area was secluded and the little pavilion was very helpful! The neighbors dogs did tend to wander into the property but that was the only negative! The location was also very close to hiking and rivers and the lovely downtown!

Perfect relaxed camping

I'm not used to having a roofed hut to retreat to when it's raining but this was awesome because it did rain the first night we stayed there. We brought battery operated twinkle lights and put the tent up on the deck. It was really sweet and lovely. Highly recommend for groups who have different levels of camping experience among them.

Beautiful property, great customer service

We actually didn’t end up staying here as planned but the host was really responsive and accommodating. Long story short: we rescheduled our trip from last fall to this spring because of a conflict, the conflict happened again. Again, the host is friendly and from the photos the place is beautiful! I’ll try again for sure!

Great little spot!

Beautiful, quiet spot! Fairly close to town, which offers so much. The shelter was perfect, fire pit lovely, and plenty of places to hang a hammock! ;) The only feedback I have is: -There isn’t room for more than 2 tents -One of our tents was larger & there wasn’t a flat spot large enough, so we had to put it on SLIGHTLY uneven ground (not a big deal at all, we had sleeping pads) -We were thinking the river was closer. It’s a drive away. -There is someone that lives right next to the community area. They didn’t seem thrilled that we were there, it made their dogs bark constantly and they kept yelling for them to shut up. It made us feel bad for disrupting their peace, so we didn’t stay long. Overall, it was a lovely spot! I’d just go as a family of 3 next time instead of bringing friends, due to the lack of good tent space.

Camping getaway

Our trip was incredible! Beautiful, quiet, peaceful spot to camp. The shelter kept us dry from the rain. Mr. Gibbs provided dry firewood for us and affordable price. George was a pleasure to meet answered all questions we had about any fishing restrictions/rules of the community where the property is located. There are two designated fishing areas for communal use please make sure to ask George for specifics. We enjoyed bbq and fishing by the community access on the Toccoa River, caught a few trout even. Our dogs had space to roam without leashes and play together. The neighbor has two dogs off leash so just make sure if your dogs are off a leash they do not stray too far and play well with other dogs. Neighbor was very nice. Bring your hiking shoes it’s at mountaintop so you will have to walk a ways to get to fishing access/community access points. We will definitely be back it was a wonderful camping experience, first time with our pups! So good, we decided to stay an extra day! Thank you George!

Great family camping experience

Great family camping experience! Shortly after we arrived, George came To the property and introduced himself. He was very friendly and shared the back story on his properties. He let us know if we needed anything To send him a message. The property is tucked in the woods off of a subdivision. The Shelter is great. It is very similar to some of the shelters found along the AT. There was plenty of room for our dogs to run Without having to worry about them bothering other people or going to someone else's campsite. There are stores nearby in Mineral Bluff and in Blue Ridge if you forget something or need to restock. Typically I prefer backpacking But this spot was a great alternative. It is similar to car camping except There are no other people around and you have to hike your stuff in a very short distance but there is a wagon to help with that. Perfect spot for my 5 y/o daughter and two dogs that are too much trouble for a traditional state park type campground.

Nice camping trip

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and the shelter was great for a rainy camping trip. It was larger than expected and fit our tent underneath easily with room to spare. The location was great, very close to Lake Blue Ridge.

Absolutely Wonderful

We booked this site when we were unable to find a campsite in our normal parks, and we're so glad we did. It was easy to get to, very clean, and so nice. The shelter is large and has shelves to store your stuff on, a table, several chairs, and even a broom to keep it tidy. People had left a few things behind, so we did the same to add to the "pantry." The site is so private we didn't even set up a tent. I would recommend bringing a thick sleeping pad, though, as the shelter floor is harder than the ground. Our dog enjoyed exploring the area. Definitely take advantage of the included carts to tote your stuff up the hill from your car. It's fairly close to restaurants, stores, hiking, and fishing. Only downsides were having to take our trash back home with us and the fact that you can't park right at the shelter (we are used to car camping). Can't wait to go back!

I rented this site for my husband as a birthday/anniversary trip, he needed a few days away from reality. He couldn't thank me enough, he loved everything about it. He said he would go back every weekend if he could.
