We all needed a quick get-a-way for the weekend and this fit the bill. It was on the lake so the family could fish! It was close to Nisswa so mom could shop! It was great to have a firepit to roast marshmallows. Overall a great weekend!

Lake stay
It was ok but needs some work. We had stayed at some of the other places at good ol days and this was low in comparison to the other good ol days cabins or rooms.
Pictures do not give an accurate portrayal. You pass all these nice “cottages” and then there is the Benedict house that was dirty, run down, and not at all what I thought we were getting. Very disappointing.
I can’t say enough good things about this property. The house is perfect - new appliances and kitchen “stuff”: dishes, flatware, utensils, pot & pans, all of it. Super clean. Comfy king sized bed. Right on the water. Very roomy. Awesome windows all around. I just loved it and can’t wait to go back ... again and again and again!
We enjoyed our stay at Benedict House aka #15. It sits right on the water and includes beautiful lake views from the many windows. The house is right next to a shared dock and beach. This was at times an asset and at times a negative. There was a large family staying in the neighboring town houses and their presence was a little overwhelming at times. We felt like we were interlopers. The house doesn’t have a deck or any private sitting area. I believe that the listing said gas grill included, but the house had a charcoal grill so we had to buy some charcoal. Not a big deal, just something to know. Our favorite part of the property was the bikes and kayaks that we could rent to explore the trail and the lake. We really enjoyed pedaling into Nisswa for ice cream one evening and for dinner another evening. Overall, this is a solid rental!

Location was great!
The location of this property is outstanding! You are steps from the lake or the Paul Bunyan bike trail. Also, 1 mile from the Chocolate Ox (our favorite ice cream shop) in Nisswa. The property is basically connected with the Good Ol' Days resort, which for us was fabulous as we had family staying there. The lake is beautiful, so clear and great for fishing. Our kids spent hours on the dock fishing. The beach near the house is also a plus. Shallow waters, only waist deep quite a bit out (do bring water shoes to mitigate cuts from zebra mussels). For those bringing a boat...please note that it is quite shallow near the dock.
The cabin itself is just that, an older lake cabin. The space provided is ample, however, it is a little on the rustic side. Kitchen appliances were updated, which was a plus. The bathroom could use a little upkeep. The water heats up nicely but please do know that the water is rusty.
The view of the lake from the cabin is spectacular, so that is a plus as well!
Overall, okay place to stay. We didn't spend much time in the cabin itself, so it met our needs for the week. The location to lake and the bike trail made up for some shortfalls in the actual housing.

Would not stay there again.
Even in a cheap motel guests are provided with a hair dryer. Not here. We knew it was going to snow, so we planned to bake. No measuring cups, no measuring spoons. Very limited in terms of kitchen utensils and pots and pans. After going to store to buy measuring cups/spoons, we baked. Some baking soda spilled. NO BROOM & DUSTPAN to clean it up, or hand vac or anything. I used wet paper towels to get it up, and they came up black with dirt! (We don't wear shoes inside, and this was our first morning there! Yuck.) There were broken blinds, shabby cabinets, and an overall cheap feel, but we paid plenty to stay there! I imagine it would be fine for a few guys who want to fish or hunt in the area, but it definitely didn't seem family friendly. NO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ANYWHERE EITHER! Nice, wood-burning fireplace, but no fireplace tools to use.
I owned a 3 br. 2 1/2 bathroom log cabin in TN with a lovely mountain views and a hot tub on the back deck! I didn't charge any more than we paid for the cabin in Nisswa. However, my guests didn't want for anything, and I had 2 fire extinguishers on site. Each full bathroom had a hair dryer. I provided dishwasher soap and liquid soap, and you can be sure I stocked more than 2 rolls of TP for my guests. There were 3 of us staying at the Bentley cabin, and there were only 2 rolls of TP!
Yeah, not impressed.
We spent a weekend in Nisswa and enjoyed our stay here. The cabin was clean and we loved the vintage feel! The cabin was close to downtown and right off the bike trail. The cabin had all the essentials you’d need and the kitchen has nicely updated appliances.
This is an older house adjacent to new resort cabin structures. The house was clean with a fully functioning kitchen and bath. The spacious living room has several windows that look out over the lake. In the morning the sunrise is stunning. The check in process was smooth and staff were friendly and responsive. One night the temperature dropped and I turned on the furnace switch. It turned out the pilot wasn't lit, which the maintenance staff took care of the following day after I mentioned it. There is ample storage in the master bedroom and bath. The older home has its quirks. The layout of the bathroom only being accessible through the kitchen wasn't a problem for just two adults. If anyone was staying in the second bedroom, there are no closets but that wasn't an issue for us. The overhead light in the kitchen would come on several minutes after flipping the switch. Fortunately, there was other lighting available in the kitchen so that wasn't an issue. The house has the Paul Bunyan bicycle trail running right by it, and the town of Nisswa is a short drive away or it is walkable. The Wi-Fi worked well and the dishwasher was a convenient amenity. One small suggestion I have would be for management to add a set of measuring cups and spoons to the kitchen, since there weren't any. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and I would consider returning in the future.

More like a resort
Cabin property is part of the neighboring resort. Everything is shared; dock, fire pit, beach.
Beautiful view of Lake Cullen at this rental! We had an amazing time and will be back again! Great view, amenities, close to state trail, pet friendly and close to town.
We had a great weekend in Nisswa and staying at the house. Kitchen was stocked with all the utensils we needed to cook our own meals. The space has a great view of the lake and open feel. Only issues we had was that the floor was dirty and extra paper towel, sheets, and pillows were not found in the house. Awesome time overall!
Our family enjoyed our 4-night stay in this mostly-updated, roomy cabin. The new grill & fire pit were used every night! Just a 10 minute walk to Nisswa on the Paul Bunyan trail.
Overall this place was very comfortable and had a beautiful location with great lake access. Firepit was not was not directly located at cabin but in front of some condos nearby. Made for uncomfortable situation of having to walk in front of rental condos and them sitting at a firepit in front of someone else's condo.
Cabin was excellent, just what one would expect for a lakeside cabin in Nisswa. Very cozy and homey. The dock is great if you have a boat. The Paul Bunyan trail is right next door and provides convenient biking/walking access to Nisswa. The property could use a new grill though as the one on site was about 1,000 years old. A fire ring would be great too. Note to swimmers – beware of Zebra mussels. You WILL get cut if you don’t wear water shoes or foot protection. Great place all around though!!!
The cabin was great but the listing was misleading in regards to how private it was. This cabin is actually connected to a resort and you share amenities with some of their other cottages. This came as quite a surprise to us and the group beside us was very large so it was a little overwhelming for parking, dock use, etc. The location is also very difficult to find because gps does not take you directly to cabin—if you have an iPhone you will not get to the correct location using their maps app. Positives were that the lake is great and you are very close to the bike trail and downtown nisswa.
Great rustic cottage! If you prefer an old time cottage feel this place is great! Beautiful view of the lake, very close to water and long deck. The water is crystal clear, shallow and sandy. Great for water activities. The cottage is located at the tail end of Good Ol Days resort so not very private.
Spent a weekend here with 3 of my girlfriends. We were so pleasantly surprised by the beauty and state of the cabin and the grounds. The place was clean and cozy and the location was an easy walk to town. The lake was beautiful! Would go back for sure!
