We were originally looking in the Greenport area, but couldn't find a place with the right sleeping accommodations in our price range. I saw this place but thought it might be too far away. I was wrong! It's only 10 minutes away from Greenport without the throngs of people and associated noise. The house is very cute and has a beautiful yard with a huge back deck and the price is right!
Now there is the issue of occasional noise from the railroad line which passes by behind the house, but they are few and just a fact of life for many out on the North Fork!
Carl, the owner and caretaker, is very cordial and lives over the garage. You may see him working out in the yard from time to time. He has put a great deal of effort into this place and is very proud of it. I mentioned a few things that I thought would improve the experience and convenience of the place and he seemed very receptive to the ideas.
In conclusion, me and my family would certainly stay there again.
My wife and I spent 4 nights over Labor Day Weekend at this home super-conveniently located in Southold. It was like stepping back in time with calming nostalgia. We were joined for a couple of nights by another couple, and we had plenty of room to spare. What some may say the house lacks in décor, it gains in space, function, and an ideal location. The back deck overlooks a massive backyard where we watched a doe with two fawns come around at dusk each day, eating around the edges of the garden. We used the kitchen to cook a big meal and enjoyed watching the US Open on a brand new big screen TV. The host is gracious and was quick to respond when we needed a hand. Thank you!
Carl was extremely helpful with answering our questions about the area. The home exceeded expectations and was perfect for for my friends and I. The house was spotless and had a nice yard and back deck for hanging out, and is located in an excellent part of Southold for getting to nearby beaches and night life.
Carl was extremely responsive and very nice throughout entire stay. Lovely house with a hammock outside, and a big yard. Easily accessible to North Fork attractions.
Carl is great and very responsive. The property is located in an ideal central location to the Southold Village (you can walk there), wineries and beaches. The house is hospitable and the property is spacious. It was my 3-year old daughter, wife and myself so we had plenty of room. We then had family over to visit and bbq. The kids had a blast and the adults enjoyed both the outside and the very/amazingly cool indoors when the humidity and heat became a bit much.
Neat house in a centrally-located neighborhood in Southold. The owner Carl was very nice and responsive. Check-in process was easy and everything was taken care of. Would recommend!
