Gullane Golf Trip

Very pleasant place to stay

This 3 bedroom cottage with open plan living dining and kitchen space was the perfect place for me to stay and invite family members for meals and to stay occasionally. The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. I would certainly recommend and will without any doubt return.

Family long weekend

The property was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Bonus for my husband was having all the sports channels to watch the champions league final! The property is locate in a small housing estate and was easy enough to find. The weather was fantastic which made our stay even better! There isn’t a garden or outdoor space which we definitely would have used given the weather but the beach is within walking distance.

Wonderful cottage in amazing location

Very well appointed, clean and comfortable cottage conveniently located to local amenities, beach and golf courses. Craig, the owner has been very helpful throughout the check in and after. We will definitely be back.

Muirfield steading

Beautifully furnished cottage in a stunning area of Scotland. Very comfortable and TV in bathroom great fun. Coffee machine a bonus although I seemed to have spent a lot of money on the chocolate pods. Cottage in a quiet cul de sac with very friendly and helpful neighbours. Owner always on hand to deal with problems although we had none. Lots of golfing and too many courses to choose from. You can hire bikes at Archerfield wall garden. Good farm shop there as well. Easy and reasonable to get into Edinburgh by train so visited the festival. Also did a long trip out to Blair Atholl 2 hours but make sure you avoid Edinburgh rush hour. North Berwick lovely and would recommend Ice cream parlour (well deserved awards) and Zittos excellent as pasta dishes come in 3 sizes. Weather was also good but if wet cottage comfortable to stay in.

A great holiday house in an ideal location

I stayed here for a week in April with my hubby,our two boys aged 13 and 10 and my mum aged 78. It was perfect for our needs, being on a small, quiet estate, and only 15 minutes walk to the town centre, and similar distance to the fabulous beach. What we liked best was there are so many nice places to cycle to - along the John Muir Way, and therefore totally traffic- free.:) We only used the car once all week. Self catering was easy in the house, but we also ate out a couple of times, which was positive both times. The bedrooms in the house are small, but the beds are very comfy. We enjoyed the novelty of a TV in the bathroom, and the shower in the ensuite is lovely too.The living room / kitchen is compact, though cooking was easily managed. We are tall people, and used all the space. Had we been 6 adults we might have felt a bit cramped at times, but if there are kids in your party you will be fine for space. Would definitely return and happy to recommend.

Excellent property, well maintained, like home from home.

A lovely bungalow on the edge of Gullane, with all essentials and plenty more besides, the coffee machine in the kitchen was an excellent bonus. The property is about a mile from the centre of Gullane which has a good selection of pubs, restaurants and a great fish and chip shop! The golf in the surrounding area is outstanding and plenty of choice to satisfy all levels of the game. The North Berwick coast is beautiful with great walks and if fine then lovely sunsets across the Forth estuary. Well worth going back again.

Perfect location , wonderful cottage .

We have enjoyed the cottage for a four nights stay , absolutely perfect for three couples . The cottage in is very good shape , modern kitchen and great beds . I hope to come back , and shall certainly recommend it to my friends . Craig the owner was ready to help immediately if needed , it is perfect for golfers , Muirfield and Gullane GC within walking distance .

Fabby cottage

I stayed at this fantastic cottage with 5 friends. It had everything you would need, set in a quiet location on the edge of Gullane. We stayed 4 nights, eating in the village on the Friday, eating in on the Saturday but with the meal being prepared, cooked and served by the chef owner! Definitely worth doing. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

First rate with everything a group of golfers require

The property is in immaculate condition and was exceptionally clean on arrival. The local information provided was useful and the recommendations, some of which our group followed, up to a high standard. The Old Clubhouse in Gullane is excellent and I would recommend the food and selection of wine/beers. Also first rate service. We were fortunate with the weather which added to our enjoyment and, should we decide to golf in this area again, Craig's property will be our choice of accomodation.

PERFECT ACCOMODATION IN GULLANE

Stay week 29th Match till 1st April and it was absolutely fantastic. The cottage was spotlessly clean and finished to a very high standard. My mother, wife and I were later joined by my brother and sister in law and the accomodation space was plentiful. The beds and linen were very comfortable. Plenty hot water and the central heating was very easy to operate.All the kitchen appliances are very modern as is the decor and a TV (SKY) in every room, including bathroom!! Craig ( the owner) is only a phone call away which is very reassuring. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay and will definately be going back.The town of Gullane has ample bars/restaurants/coffee shops etc. Anyone wishing a stay in Gullane should not hesitate to book these premises as you will not be disappointed.

Modern, comfortable and everything you need home.

We enjoyed our stay very much , the home had everything you needed and the owner Craig would be on hand if you needed something that was not there , the shops are within walking distance and North Berwick itself is a lovely little town with some nice shops, cafe's , bars and restaurants and who would have thought we would have been able to stroll down to the beach in January all in all would highly recommend it.

Simply outstanding.

A perfectly clean and modern holiday home. Craig was outstanding with the service he gave, nothing was too much trouble. He made our family feel so welcome and even offered his catering service. We used Craig Woods Catering for a delicious Christmas meal. The home is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. From a washing machine to TVs in every room. A short walk to the sea with outstanding views. As a growing family of five we will be back. Such a lovely home I'd love it for my own ! A*

My name is Craig Wood. I have owned Gullane Steading Holiday Home since 2009 and was my home until 2015. I grew up in Aberlady, which is a small village a mere 2.5 miles from Gullane. I own a catering company called Craig Wood Catering, which provides mainly marquee weddings at our own venue, The Seton Garden. I live with my wife Lisa and our sons Josh and Clark in Aberlady. My hobbies are Golf (a must if you live in this area) and playing the bagpipes. I take great pride in everything that I do and I will always do my best to ensure that your stay is exactly what you are looking for.

Why they chose this property

Muirfield Steading is a remarkably unique converted Steading (or barn) which is approximatly 30 years old. It still has the old stone facings on the outside and remarkably modern on the inside. It has been finished to a very high standard of which I am sure you will enjoy as much as I have for so many years. It's location on the edge of the famous village of Gullane, makes it far enough away from any noise but close enough to walk to all that the village has to offer, including bars, restaurants, shops, coffee shops, Golf courses, beach etc

What makes this property unique

Definitely the old stone building, with open plan, spacious living area to enjoy everyones company whilst watching television, dining, cooking or simply reading a magazine after a hard days activities.
