Amazing beach house only a short walk from the ocean! A great location at a great North Carolina beach! The neighborhood is charming and quiet and the neighbors are friendly. The beach is gorgeous and just a straight walk or drive down the road. We can hear the ocean waves at night. Generous front porch with rocking chairs and table. Large master bedroom with gorgeous bath. Coffee ready to go, a library, cable TV in living room. Please note that there is a main road to cross - E. Oak Island Dr. - to get to the beach. It gets busy during rush hour and high season. It’s better to take a right there and then a left on 73rd St. to avoid waiting. Parents will need to accompany children if walking.

Everything was nice, but the TV. that is the pits when the weather is too cold to be at the beach and you can't even watch the news. NO basic cable. Other than that it was very nice.
Fantastic location with easy access to all the restaurants nearby and the beach! Host was courteous and easy to get a hold of with any questions and issues. Will stay again when in the area!
We enjoyed our stay! The location is great! It may be a little old and needs some maintenance but one can tell that it’s filled with memories and love of the owners, which gives you a “home” feel rather than a rental. Thank you for hosting us Mike!
It was easy to get to the beach, which was key for us. The owner was thoughtful and responded right away. The only thing that was slightly inconvenient, was both toilets had to be watched after flushing because the water would continue to run if you didn’t get the handle back to the right place. Easy fix though. Thanks for a relaxing weekend!

oak island
It definitely had nice amenities, however there was some things that needed repair..ie. faucet in kitchen and hall bathroom shower only one fan on the porch worked. its a cute house.
We booked a two-night stay at Oak Island and found a real gem. This 3 bedroom home is located near everything you want at the beach! It is clean, very comfortable, great AC, close to numerous beach access points and fun restaurants. We recommend this VRBO home with enthusiasm and can tell you from experience that you will enjoy your stay here!
Me and my friends had such an amazing time at Oak Island. The house was so cozy and comfortable and we didn’t have to go out for any toilet paper, towels, beach equipment, etc., because it was all provided! Mike is super great and kept in touch leading up to the stay, during, and after. I would definitely stay here again!
When walking up to the house the first thing you notice is all the extra beach supply’s left for you to use. Chairs, sand toys, tall wagon. I thought that was so thoughtful. However, when you walk up the steps you realize the steps are not attached to the house. Our older guests had to really take their time when they went up or down the stairs,( the back steps are the same) that was the biggest concern for us. Inside it was very welcoming, (we loved the guest book). It was perfect for what we needed. I would recommend some maintenance( steps, microwave only a few buttons work). Other than that I would stay here again.

Beautiful beach
We had a little trouble checking in but later the property manager solved our problem. We had a wonderful time, the house is great, has everything you need, and is in a nice neighborhood.
My BF and I stayed for 7 days, May 11-18. Overall we had a nice stay, just a few things to mention. There is no ice maker, ice trays were provided. The park style grill didn’t look like anything we wanted to cook on, so we didn’t grill anything. The ceiling fans on the front porch didn’t work and made a horrible noise when we tried to turn them on, with the sun beating down in the afternoons the porch isn’t shaded. Beds were comfy, We did cook a few meals, all the cookware and spices were provided. Enjoyed the Keurig and the ability to make a full pot of coffee. The beach was a little further away than we thought it would be. Oak Island is beautiful and wasn’t busy when we went, we also enjoyed Southport and spent a lot of time there. Bottom line the rental was okay and mostly comfortable, but next time I would definitely stay right on the beach and not have to worry about where to park.
This is a lovely home tucked away in a residental area of Oak Island with surprising views! Standing on the covered porch if you look right you have a view of the Intercoastal Waterway, to the left ocean views.
The home is spacious and clean with 3 bedrooms, plenty of drawers and good size closets to accommodate lengthy stays.
Kitchen is well equipped with small appliances, cookware, utensils and spices/condiments. We were pleasantly surprised by the well stocked pantry of seasonings and sugar.
Backyard is welcoming with seating and a firepit for cooler evenings.
Located 3 minutes from grocery stores and resturants.
Communication with host was friendly and prompt.
Our family of 4 enjoyed our short stay. This will be our first choice for future stays.
Thank yall again!
We came to the beach for just a quick get-away. The weather wasn't working with us too well but a rainy day at the beach is ALWAYS better than a day at work! The home is as described and better. We had everything we needed plus more. I was please to find that they had all the extras like a Splenda packet for my morning coffee (i forgot to bring) and cleaning supplies for our use incase they were needed. Tons of books and board games and multiple TV's. Just perfect.
Good location. Quiet neighborhood. This is an older house showing some wear but the home was clean and comfortable. (Wear examples: handle on main bedroom shower coming off, porch wobbly).
Pros: living room furniture comfy. Washer and dryer available in home. Plenty of stuff you’d need like toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, etc. Even coffee filters.
Beds were comfy. All lighting and appliances were in good condition.
Easy check in/communication and same for check out.
3-4 minute walk to the beach.
Good size home for 2-6 people.
This home was very lovely and cozy. The host communicated in a timely manner and the location was great. It was really close to the beach and stores. My family and I enjoyed walking on the beach and fishing during our stay. We were also able to cook with all of the utensils, seasonings, and pans provided. 10/10 home
Great place. It was just what I was looking for. Close to everything Oak Island!
Very comfortable, felt like home!

About the host
Hosted by Mike Hause
We love to host people and we love the beach! We have always taken our kids on beach vacations and Oak Island is one we've kept coming back to. It's a place where we can recharge from our very busy lives. It's amazing what a day on the beach can do for one's perspectives on just about everything. That's why we always come back to the beauty, the surf and sunshine. We hope you enjoy your experience as much as we have.
Why they chose this property
It's new, clean, large for a family, fairly inexpensive and right near the beach. Get your groceries from the Food Lion (don't worry about bringing a cooler full of stuff from home!). Great seafood at the local restaurants or buy some from the local fish outlet and cook it on the outdoor grill in the back yard. Close to the beach enough to take a short walk. See the turtles hatch in August!
What makes this property unique
We are a walk to the beach and a walk to the waterway. The beach is visible from the road and a great location (74th st Access area) with parking. We throw our chairs in the truck or car and in 3 blocks we are there. If you bring a boat just take it down to the public landing on 55th St and head out for a spin or sail on the waterway or even out to the ocean. Rentals are everywhere. Great restaurants nearby.
Get your own food from Food Lion less than a mile down the road! Bring your bikes - super place for a morning ride and no traffic. Mornings on the porch are delightful - bring your coffee and a good book. Visit Southport town in the evening - beautiful quaint old town with great restaurants and seafood - try Provisions or theFrying Pan for some great crab cakes!
Want to do some skydiving? Just a couple of miles up the road there's a small airport that specializes in them.
