Blue Mountain Vacation Home Palmerton PA 47 Acres Hiking Trails Pickleball Court

Over 1.5 miles of private trails make our Pocono vacation home a great getaway from it all for you, friends/family and your dogs. Leave the leashes at home! Pet-friendly 3BR, 2 Bath house with huge deck and a patio and fire pit facing the sunset and Blue Mountain in southern Poconos. The Valley Lodge of Blue Mountain Ski Resort is just 2 miles away, making for mountain biking, festivals and events and those attending weddings.

Sports Court for Pickleball, Basketball and outdoor fun was upgraded in 2023. The court offers a beautiful setting for your competitive side (net paddles and balls provided). Two new couches in living room, bigger TV and new sofa bed in the basement were also added in 2023. In 2024 we're adding a Tesla Charger and more trails and a remote picnic grove.

House comfortably sleeps 8 people (2 queens, 2 full and a pullout queen in the basement.) Crib and high chair are provided. Dog door onto the deck lets dogs run in and out if you'd like, you can block them from leaving the deck.

Open concept kitchen with newer appliances, dining area and living room connect to the deck for great gatherings and an awesome view. Finished basement with game room (pool table, glow in the dark air hockey and big screen TV). The house has central air conditioning and high-speed Internet with WiFi.

The house is set back from the road and surrounded by 47 acres of land and 1.5 mile of grass covered and gravel private walking/hiking trails. Hike up to the top of Stony Ridge and see for miles.

STAY LONGER: 12% discount is automatically applied to full week rentals, 20% for a full month.

Nearby you will find Blue Mountain Ski Resort (all-year adventure), the Appalachian Trail, Beltzville State Park, Lehigh River Gap and Jim Thorpe which has several river outfitters that offer kayaking, rafting and tubing down the Lehigh River. You can also rent bikes in Jim Thorpe or Lehighton to ride along the D&L Trail (next to the river). Beltzville Lake State Park has a nice beach and a marina to rent boats. The town of Palmerton has a nice grocery, restaurants and shops. Not too far away is Country Junction, billed as the world's largest General Store and no visit is complete without a visit to Becky's Drive-in movie theater in Cherryville.

We have high-speed Internet, broadband through the local cable company. Speed is up to 100Mbps Download / 8Mbps Upload. WiFi reaches throughout the house, the deck, the patio and even cars in the driveway for those work calls.

Best holiday stay ever!!!

I received a prompt email from the property owners with information about our stay. This property had everything. We have 4 young boys, and they had their choice of every kid-friendly amenity. Games, pool table, air hockey, Nintendo, and every sporting good you can imagine.The property was clean and centrally located to the ski slopes and other local attractions.The property provided everything we needed for our stay.We will absolutely be booking this property again for our next visit to Blue Mountain.

Fantastic time

My family fully enjoyed the home and all the space that comes with it. We walked the trails with our dogs who also loved the open space. Everything we needed was in the home. The town is minutes away and everyone is super friendly. Country Junction is a must visit place. Best baked goods around hands down.

Perfect Place!

We came here to celebrate Sukkot with our family and friends. Anything we may have needed was provided. The house was very cozy and the area where we camped out was absolutely beautiful, not to mention the hiking trails on the property were amazing! We were very happy to have chosen this place and would love to stay here again!

Amazing place with tons of features

It was amazing. There's so much to do at the house and on the property and there were a lot of hikes a short drive away. Beltzville State Park is nearby and is a great place to go onto the water.

Relaxing, fun vacation

House was clean, decorated well and had everything we needed. Space enough for 6 people, dogs, and a baby. Grounds were well kept and spacious. We played pool, air hockey and took a relaxing ride down the Lehigh River on tubes. Town is very close. Owner was quick to respond to questions and very helpful. Overall great vacation!

Perfect Weekend Getaway

The entire property is beautiful! The trail and the pickleball court made the entire stay so much more fun! I was so relieved that Mark allowed me to bring my senior pet rabbit into the home. It was a much needed getaway and I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful Blue Mountain Vacation Home in Palmerton, PA

The property was beautifully landscaped and well maintained with flowers, a well manicured lawn and neatly trimmed shrubs. Inside, the house was neat, fresh and clean with a wonderful game room with an air hockey table, a pool table, and many games. The deck and patio were great and we enjoyed sitting there in the evenings and mornings. There was a nice hiking trail as well. It was a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely recommend it to anyone. The Beltzville Lake and Marina are nearby for swimming, boating and fishing. Jim Thorpe is a great place to visit and we road the train after enjoying a delicious breakfast at the Inn's restaurant. Palmerton had a nice park with a playground. We visited Allentown and the America on Wheels Museum as well as the Science Museum. We also visited the Quiet Valley Living History Farm, hiked on the Hawk Trail to a lovely waterfall, and had a great time watching an Iron Pigs baseball game. There is a lot to do but you will enjoy it if all you do is have coffee or a cool drink on the patio or deck. Mr. Mark Shay was absolutely wonderful and quickly responded to any questions we had and made us feel quite welcome. If you and your family or friends choose this home, you will absolutely not regret it! Thank you, Blue Mountain Vacation Home!

4th of July Getaway

The property was as advertised. The house is clean and well stocked. Plenty of space both inside and outside. Our family loved it. Our teenagers kept themselves busy playing pickle ball and air hockey. Would definitely rebook.

Secluded, peaceful, comfortable

My family and our dogs spent a week here and we loved it. The house was clean and there was plenty of space for 5 adults and 3 dogs. The basement is huge so if you have kids or there's some of your group that want a separate space it is perfect. The deck is also huge and has a great view up and down the valley. The house is very secluded so we did not see or hear anyone during our stay. The dogs loved using the doggie door onto the deck and had fun walking the trails with us. Overall this house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We felt very much at home. Even though you are secluded, you are still just a 5 minute drive to town. The house would be a great base for lake activities or skiing or just relaxing in a quiet place. Highly recommended!

Winter home away from home

The house and property are everything you see and more. House has all amenities you could possibly need. Super clean. Property is amazing, wonderful hiking trails, basketball, pickle ball, corn horn, grass areas, fire pit, firewood, views and sunsets. Ultra private but close to Blue Mountain and Jim Thorpe, Appalachian trail and other carbon county destinations. 5 stars all the way.

Well-appointed and off the beaten path

The house was very well stocked with essentially anything we needed in the kitchen (we did a ton of cooking), the property was wonderful as advertised. We brought all of our dogs and I spent a lot of time outside. We stayed over Christmas and it was very nice to have some small Christmas decorations in the house when we arrived! On a nice day, sitting outside on the deck is very relaxing.

Great Weekend Vacay

We live about 2 hours away in NJ. The house and area were exactly what we were looking for to spending some time in nature and enjoy the beautiful foliage. The house is nicely stocked with essentials and even a plethora of games. It was four adults (myself, my husband, my brother and his girlfriend) + my two rescue pups. Everyone had a great time, enjoying the privacy of the property while still being close to a lot of activities.

Family vacation

Why they chose this property

I grew-up in the Philadelphia area and always loved the mountains. I got started skiing in high school and I got hooked. I wanted a house by a ski area for my kids and I was fortunate enough to be able to afford a second home right by Blue Mountain. This kids are older, scattered about and we've now opened the house up to renters.

What makes this property unique

The setting is private. Just a few minutes to the Valley Lodge of Blue Mountain Ski Resort, close to the Appalachian Trail, Lehigh River and Beltzville State Park. We're close to the Poconos, but not so close that you feel like you're in a tourist trap. Palmerton is a nice town, if you want touristy things, go to nearby Jim Thorpe. River outfitters along the Lehigh River Gap provide great day trips and we have 4 kayaks available to guests who want to DIY on the river.
