Our ski club originated 43 years ago in Stowe, Vermont. We lost our swank chalet many years back, and since then we have searched for a replacement with that reflects the spirit, grit, moxy, and fun of The U.V. Ski Club. Kelly has provided our sanctuary of brotherhood. The heartfelt chat filled evenings around the the big fireplace our cherished. The 4 full bathrooms Are fully enjoyed. We have skied every thing Tahoe has to offer from Kirkwood to Sugar Bowl., and we come home to Dollar Point, to our Tahoe Home. Thank you Kelly!
We stayed for a family Christmas trip, overall it was great. We barely noticed not having a TV. Here are my pro’s and consPros Owner was very responsive to questions and very very nice Location was great Lots of spaces indoor and out to get a some peace and quite time which was great when your whole family is there :) Extra lot next store was wonderful for sledding Nice house with lots of room for everyone Lots of games and puzzles to keep everyone occupied Beds & furniture were comfortableCons No washer and dryer was a bummer but we knew that before we came. It would be much more convenient if there was one in the house instead of working out time to hang out at a laundromat Shower in loft never did get hot, but there were three other showers so not a big deal oven took over an hour to preheat, not a big deal but inconvenient a few cobwebs over some of the bedsNone of these were a big deal, we never brought them up to the owner as they were easily worked around. We had a great time and would definitely stay again
It was great staying in the cabin! Kelly was very responsive when booking cabin information. The cabin was nice it had the things needed for our stay. Only downside was there was a bear roaming the area and went inside some cars however nothing of damage. We thought of using the bear horn in the house but it didn't work. We did report the bear sighting. Overall the cabin is very nice. I would definitely recommend the stay here just bring your own bear horn if its not winter time due to bears not hibernating yet.
Maternal cousins gathering annually last nine years. This place was fantastic for our group of 8. Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, large kitchen living dining, well equipped. We really like that there were 3 different sleeping areas , lots of privacy and quiet when needed. It’s actually felt bigger than pics. Steady & convenient.
The owner was excellent to communicate with.
Highly recommend .
Property was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. We would stay again. The furnishings were comfortable. It was obvious the decor was collected over time, so fun! It felt lived in, in the best possible way.
Overall happy with the cabin and the host! Description is accurate, and we chose this home for the cabin vibe. Nobody missed TV. Our older family members were happy to have bedrooms and bathroom on the main floor, which is street level, so no steps to navigate. The several downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms are only accessibly via a steep spiral staircase, so our least-mobile never went to that part of the cabin. Two frustrations: 1) the loft bedroom was dusty and bedsheets/blanket/spread were quite aged and pilled; 2) no clothes washer/dryer was frustrating with a large group who traveled from far and wide and needed to do laundry. Aside from those, it really is a charming and unique cabin, with many custom features. The family truly enjoyed the stay there. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, and the large round table with lazy suzan, next to the wonderful gas fire feature in the living room were a big hit. Great place for family meals and games. The quiet neighborhood is beautiful, and the location is perfect for access to so many north shore sights.
Property was nice and roomy lots of things to do withe the family the only thing is the bear box was broken and we had a visit from the mom bear and her cubs and she knows how to open it might want to get new ones but we loved the cabin
Birthday celebration for youngest daughter abd brother in law
Had a great time. Had all the comforts of home. There was plenty of room for everyone. Eould totally book again and recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Tahoe.
Our extended family stayed at this older, classic Tahoe cabin from June 21-25. We found the cabin to be better than the pictures. It was clean, in good working condition and nicely decorated with a woodsy theme. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with peek views of the lake. You only see pine trees out the windows, not the side of someone’s house. It felt private and serene. With our group of 13 adults and 5 kids (ages 1 to 7), the arrangement of the rooms was ideal. The downstairs bunk room worked really well with the older kids. The adults all had a comfortable bed with a bathroom nearby. Mattresses had a soft memory type topper that made for comfy sleeping. The kitchen was very nice with newer appliances and good supply of gadgets/kitchen equipment. As someone else stated, it wasn’t a problem not having a washer/dryer. We all enjoyed our time together. I felt lucky to have found this place. Highly recommend.
The house really lends itself for a family gathering. The great room, back deck and rear grounds provided ample room for all the age groups. We had 19 people in the house and six other relatives who had other accommodations. The great room easily held all of us in the evenings. However, there are some maintenance and safety issues on the exterior that need to be addressed. A number of posts that hold up the roof on the side decks have rotted and are propped up by 2x4s and blocks. The same side roofs look like they’re in bad shape. The gap between the lower rail and the deck is wide enough that a small toddler could roll thru it and fall two levels. There needs to be another rail installed. These items detract from an otherwise great place and caused the overall evaluation above to be 4 stars.
We had an amazing time at this property. We rented it to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. We all got plenty of snow for skiing, snowshoeing a few blocks away and sledding next to the house (the house came with plenty of sleds and shovels). The best part about the house was the central gathering space with the fireplace. There were so many places for groups to get together and play games or talk etc. Everyone had an amazing time. We’ll definitely be back again!
We had a great stay at this property--with a large group including 5 couples and our children ranging from ages 4-16.
The highlight truly was the sledding hill next door; our kids basically sledded all morning, came in for lunch, went back out until dinner, then even did "night time sledding" after dinner. They LOVED it, and we (the grownups) didn't need to entertain them which was fantastic.
We were originally concerned about the lack of washer/dryer (with wet snow clothes), but we put all the wet clothing around the fireplace and it dried promptly.
One thing to know: The house is pretty noisy; if you are sleeping downstairs you can hear everyone moving around upstairs, and if you are sleeping in the loft you can hear the conversations happening around the fireplace. Bring earplugs or a noise machine.
We are hoping to come back with the same group next year.
Great Stay. We had several families together for the Thanksgiving weekend. (also other houses) This was the main house and the cooking spot. There were many amenities that went unused. There was plenty of spread out space.. and multiple extra sleeping spots. (only downside some were in pass through areas) The meeting areas were spread out enough to allow for multiple activities to be going on at once.. Highly reccomend
The cabin is beautiful, spacious and what we were looking for. The property grew on us throughout the duration of the stay and we quite enjoyed the visit. Only thing we had any criticisms on was that the house is in desperate need of a thorough deep cleaning. Someone found fake eyelashes in their bedding, a little bit of garbage on the floor and then all of the light fixtures were covered in cobwebs
Aside from the cleaning aspect, the cabin was perfect and everyone enjoyed it.
The location is really convenient to get around in, the neighbor is quiet and you're close enough to the lake to walk down and close enough to a few trails that you can go on a quick and easy hike right down the road.
Had not visited with small children before and was pleasantly surprised to find baby gates and booster seats available for the 18 month old. Each time we visit there is another improvement - this time it was the outside deck which was great to BBQ and hang out on!

Why they chose this property
Our father built this cabin in 1967 and we have been updating and adding space ever since. All the bathrooms have been remodeled but in deference to our father we have kept the cabin TV free. He wanted it to be a cabin for families and time together and we have tried to abide by his wishes. We own the lot next door that our guests use as a sled run in the winter.
