Villan nås via en grindig ingång, en konkret körning tar dig till parkeringsområdet (för 2 fordon) där du kommer in i villan genom en avskild matterrass som har fantastisk utsikt över nationalparken.

En kort stig leder ner genom mogna trädgårdar till en privat pool (8m x 4m) och terrass med fantastisk utsikt över nationalparken. Nationalparken och dess vandringsleder är direkt tillgängliga till fots från Villa.

Den ljusa och luftiga loungen har luftkonditionering och en vedspis för vintermånaderna. Det finns flera dubbeldörrar som leder ut till matterrassen. Det moderna köket är fullt utrustat och utrustat. Det finns en separat men angränsande matsal också med tillgång genom dubbla dörrar till en ytterligare terrass och grillplats.

Det finns två dubbelrum med luftkonditionering, varav ett är på övervåningen i tornet och ytterligare två tvåbäddsrum med fläktar.

Fantastic holiday location to return to and made even better by the high standard of accommodation. Everything as described in the listing, if you choose to visit the only surprise will be that the property, the area and communication are all far above expectation. We would love to re visit.

Pure tranquility

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful villa. It’s a little piece of heaven with everything one needs. The pool is lovely and the outdoor space & views are exceptional. Close enough to Nerja & Cómpeta, there are a huge variety of excellent eateries to choose from, and the food we ordered from Keri was sublime! A little piece of paradise that I’d highly recommend.

Fabulous family holiday

We had a really great family week at Villa Carlota - it was very relaxing and we all enjoyed the gorgeous weather, the pool and the beautiful views and going into Competa … and not much else, though we braved the slightly hairy drive to the Lost Village & had a delicious meal at Canillas de Albaida and El Cortijo in Competa ! The Villa is very well equipped with everything you need and comfortable - it was all very easy - highly recommend and thank you Liz and Ceri! Hasta luego!

Home comforts in the sun

We stayed at Villa Carlota for 10 nights as a group of 7 and found it to have all the comforts of home and large enough so that we didn't feel on top of one another. The communication with Liz before and after was brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate to recomend this Villa to anyone looking for a completely relaxing holiday away from it all but within a short drive of Competa with its many bars and restaurants.

Fantastic villa in a beautiful mountain location

Villa was wonderful, really clean and spacious. Villa manager was very helpful. Pool was perfect and not overlooked. A very relaxing holiday and the views can't be beaten in this part of Andalucia. Can't recommend Villa Carlota enough. Can't think of one fault. Thank you.

Wonderful Villa that has everything including stunning views!

Would highly recommend Villa Carlota! It has everything you could possibly need - comfy beds, soft towels, fully fitted kitchen and is tastefully furnished. Outside terrace areas and the pool area are fantastic and the views really are amazing! Liz has been wonderful to deal with and most helpful with recommendations. Also should point out that Christine and Malcolm who meet and greet were very welcoming!

PERFECT HOUSE FOR 2 FAMILIES

Villa Competa is a perfect house for a holiday for 2 families. The house is beautifully situated in the mountains, with a short distance to Competa, the beach, Frigiliana and Malaga. There is an excellent kitchen with all the equipment you could ask for, and also a lovely pool in the garden. We can recommend the winery (Bentomiz) nearby, and not to forget Alhambra of Granada. My family and I had a fantastic holiday in October, and would love to come back at some time.

Room with a View

An out of the way location which suited us perfectly. Nearby villages and attractions within easy reach. Spectacular views across the mountain range with neighbours a mere dot on the horizon. Access track beyond the villa not for the faint hearted but practice makes perfect. Well equipped Villa but twin bedrooms would benefit from integral air con as fans and stand alone units have little impact...but don't be put off...like us, you'll want to return!

Beautiful, comfortable, relaxing... Heaven!

Spent a week here over Christmas as a family of 8 (grandparents, parents, teens and littles) and couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing, rejuvenating vacation. The views from Villa Carlota were incredible, the gated pool (we paid extra to have it heated—SO worth it) provided hours of entertainment for our younger kids, the home was comfortable and large enough for all of us to have space, WiFi was strong for the teens, the woodburning stove created warmth and ambience, the kitchen was so well-equipped we made almost all our meals there... The list goes on and on!

Wonderful break in the mountains of Andalusia

We as a family of five had a wonderful stay in this lovely villa! The conversation with the owner and the housekeeper was prompt and straightforward, the sorrounding is beautiful and the place itself very clean an well kept, the kitchen has everything you need. It´s a reasonable drive away from the beach and the next town with a good amount of restaurants and shops. The only "problem" we had was to convince the children not just to spend the whole time in the pool but do some cultural excursions (Granada ist just one and half hour away)! Thank you Liz and Ceri for the opportunity of such a nice and sunny break after all the months of Corona trouble!

Still perfect!

I stayed at Villa Carlota with the same group of girlfriends around 6 years ago and it was just as, if not more, wonderful as the last time! The Villa is pristine and everything you need is to hand. The pool and views are perfect. Sunrise is a real treat with a morning coffee, and we sat and watched the ISS go over on a coupe of evenings. Competa, which is very pretty, is just a few km's away and has a couple of small supermarkets and a few cafe and a restaurant or two. Liz is lovely to deal with and the villa is obviously a much loved home from home for her family. Can't wait to return again in the not too distant future. Thank you Liz

A complete gem

What a relief, after the crazy sweaty and crowded coast to find ourselves in the beautiful villa. The view is truly stunning, the pool a delight and every aspect of the property lovingly maintained. Separate towels for pool and shower? of course. Towels soft and inviting? yup! Fully equipped, clean and charming, with the A/C providing relief during the insane heat (rising to 37). The village (Competa) is beautiful, welcoming and the food excellent- try Oscar's for a meal you won't forget!

Perfect villa

Everything about our holiday was perfect. Liz's communication before we arrived was brilliant, we were met and taken to the villa which was great as finding it for the first time might be tricky, and the welcome pack in the fridge was a real bonus. The villa itself was beautiful, it felt so homely and everything we could have possibly needed was supplied. The view was stunning, and we had the privilege of watching some amazing sunrises. We'd paid for the pool to be heated which was well worth it. It was so warm, so we spent a lot of time in it, it was my daughter's favourite part of the holiday. We didn't venture far as the weather was so amazing that all we wanted to do was relax by the pool, but we had great days out to Nerja and a few trips up to Compete to visit the amazing ice cream parlour! We will definitely return to Villa Carlota if we return to the area.

I would go back

The bad first, when they tell you to use there directions they provide do exactly that. We used Google maps and it got us to a different location with an identical pool, where there secret code also worked on the lock of the wrong place. Contact on Virbo is in UK, not local. Local contact can only be reached by WhatsApp. If you do not have WhatsApp, you will need it to communicate with them. Pool was not heated as we paid for in advance but the owner immideatly credited us back when I brought it up. Local contact was extremely nice and helped us get over the initial check in issue but no cell service at location made it challenging. House itself was great. Very clean, also had option of pre buying grocery’s which was a wonderful addition. Overall great place and they were very polite dealing with our frustration upon checking. Follow there driving directions and make sure you have “WhatsApp” for communication and it will go smoothly. Place itself was plenty of room and everything worked. Well stocked kitchen with cooking equipment and being a little out in the country was very peaceful. Just enough of a dirt road to make you appreciate being off the beaten path without any real driving issues. Nice place, I would recommend it.

What a tonic!

I stayed at Villa Carlota with 4 girlfriends and we had an absolute ball. Between us we have 11 children and 7 dogs and felt we were due a rest! Apart from a couple of short outings, we stayed at the villa and sunbathed, swam, read, ate, drank and had a daily siesta. The villa was perfect for us. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, the beds were very comfy and we had everything we needed for our stay. Throughly recommended for families too as the pool is secure. My only regret is that we didn't 'have time' to have a good look around the area. We vaguely mooted the idea of visiting the lost village but couldn't summon the energy!! That will keep for another trip in the cooler months. We ate out at El Pilon in Competa which was fantastic (ask for a table on the Terrace), lovely friendly waiters/waitresses and great food. They even gave us a free shot as we left, which set us up nicely of the rest of the evening! We telephoned for a taxi (can't remember the name but the card is in the folder) when we ate at El Pilon and a lovely chap collected us, with 15 minutes notice. He refused our offer to pay on arrival and just said to call when we had finished eating so he could collect us and we could pay then. I'm not sure that would happen in the UK! It truly couldn't have been better and Liz was fantastic at getting back to me with any questions prior to our visit.

We hebben het weer heerlijk gehad

Voor de tweede keer hebben we weer genoten van de heerlijke villa. Alles was weer super naar wens. De omgeving is prachtig. We komen graag nog een keer terug!

Wonderful stay at Villa Carlota

Thank you again to Ceri and Liz for our wonderful stay att Villa Carlota. Villa is very clean, comfortable and modern. Ceri was very attentive to the questions we had. Check-in was quick and flexible. Pool area is nice and the patio/terrace area sunny - the views are superb. Beds are comfortable, although nights can be cool i october so extra blankets would have been good. The only minus for the villa is maybe that you can't get anywhere on foot, the main road to Competa is narrow and there aren't any service or restaurants nearby, you need to take the car. Tried to go to rest. Pavo Real one day on foot over the hill with googles help and and ended up on a narrow alley and were chased by a big and furious guard dog, so watch out! But all i all, a lovely stay. Would definitely like be back in near future. Thank you x

Words are not enough

Cant praise Villa Carlota, owner Liz and villa manager Ceri enough. The villa is absolutely perfect in every way, location, ( walking into the natural park to Acebuchal etc is awesome) view ( from the panoramic windows is stunning), quality of the villa and a fantastic pool everything has been thought of ( even eggcups 😀). Cant recommend this villa enough. Communication with Liz and Ceri has been faultless. Other VRBO owners could learn things from them If ever staying near Competa again, I'll be trying to book Villa Carlota, thats for certain.

Return visit to this beautiful villa in a stunning location, which is still as perfect and relaxing as our first visit 4 years ago! Liz, the host, has thought of everything you could need on holiday, all of which is fantastic quality and I would definitely recommend purchasing the essentials package and also ordering some of Ceri's delicious homemade food. Beautiful, well presented property with plenty of flexibility for family.

This is our second time renting Carlotta and we are never disappointed. With everything you need for a relaxing stay, the property has a well equipped kitchen complete with all the pots and utensils whether eating in or taking out (I particularly like the sandwich boxes and ice packs). We are a family of 4 and this was the perfect property for us to enjoy family time with the beautiful pool, views and excellent WiFi!! Well located for visiting Competa, Torox, Nerja, Frigliana and the surrounding areas. Brilliant booking experience and check in was seamless with regular contact from both the property owner, Liz and Ceri who looked after us for check in and during our stay. We’ll be back again soon! Thank you for letting us share your beautiful property.

We are a family of four who enjoy holidays in the sun with a variety of activities nearby to keep us all entertained ! Given that we live in West Yorkshire, where a summer wardrobe is not really necessary, we have been looking for a holiday home with a warm climate and something for us all to enjoy. We are delighted to have bought Villa Carlota and find it has everything we wanted and more!

Varför värden valde detta boende

Villa Carlota is different to the other properties we have stayed in or looked at in Competa it has a comfortable and unique feel about it with the bedroom in the tower ! We love the fact that it is only 3 hours on a plane to get to a brilliant climate and that the Villa is within an hours drive of Malaga airport. We find the privacy of the Villa relaxing but with easy access to the village with all its facilities and the sea which we love.

Competa which has been called the pearl of the Axarquia is in the foothills of the Sierra Tejeda and Almijara mountain ranges and therefore enjoys stunning views
not only of the Mountains but the Mediterranean too. It is a diverse community of nearly 4000 inhabitants and is known for it locally produced muscatel wines and has a great range of shops and facilities including a chemist, banks, newsagent , small super markets a Saturday market and even an Ice cream parlour !
