Spacious and super comfortable!

The beds here were very comfortable, (especially the awesome pillows) we loved the large bedrooms and cozy vintage feel! The views, large windows and big open rooms were perfect for hanging out and sharing meals. The oven was a little tricky but still worked well once we got it going. The fence around the house made us feel secure at night, (wish my car could have been inside a fence also, but it was totally fine on the street). We would stay here again! It's a great spot for a girls weekend.

Fun old house!

This house was fun to stay in with all the nooks and crannies! It was also the perfect location for the rowing event we were there to watch. My daughters want to stay here again!

Old Eureka House

Very unique old home in downtown. Close to many attractions you can walk to. Location is a little noisy because it’s downtown, but the house was exactly as stated. Bedrooms are charming, beds were very comfortable and sheets and towels clean.

Nice place

The location was good but a number of homeless around. They did not bother you. Need better lighting in the rooms, but the fire stick worked great. It is 100 years old, so comes with the issues associated with that.

Historic Eureka House

The house is a little quirky and my girls said a little creepy at night but it was very clean and comfortable. It is old and kinda fun seeing all the old switches and all the little storage closets and cubbies everywhere.

Cool house at the right price

Really interesting layout, well stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, good heating system. There was some activity outside at night since this is a downtown location, but it was all within reason. Walkable to many destinations in Eureka and to the water. Would stay here again

Not Family Friendly

House was as advertised, was very quaint and clean but smells musty. Neighborhood and town of Eureka was very questionable. This Location is the hotspot for prostitutes and homeless. Very sad to see this much homelessness in the small of a town. Our family felt very unsafe every day and night. This is a very sketchy part of town even with being located on the edge of the historic downtown area. I would not recommend this house mainly because of the neighborhood.

Enjoyed a lovely weekend here

we spent the weekend here, its a lovely house that sleeps quite a few people. it is clean and has a lovely dining room. a modest but very clean kitchen. this is an older home and the rooms and baths are on the small side. the area does get a little busy (noisy) late night, but it tones down after a while and is manageable. the lack of off street parking kind of bothered us but we found the street parking to be safe, but i wouldnt leave anything in your car here.. jus sayin'.. The park nearby is a real treat and overall we enjoyed our stay enough to say we will be back next year. thankyou so much for the wonderful accommodations. We will be back next year!!

Great House, Great Location, Iffy Neighborhood

This is a really cool, funky house with a lot of character and pretty good space for a gathering. Pluses are: great location for access to Old Town, great beds and bedding, nice rooms with awesome natural light, well-stocked linens and towels. Minuses: the alarm was broken; no outdoor space/patio to hang out on; mixed bag neighborhood -- interesting homes and shops, but also a (non-threatening) transient population in the immediate area. Maybe not the best neighborhood for nighttime strolls alone or for folks with kids. That said, we never felt unsafe and we had a great time at the house.

Shabby

This property is old and shabby. It is in a bad neighborhood. Homeless and druggies all around. Spiders in the bed. The place really needs to be go through and refurbished. The place needs to have security or the police need to clear out the riff raff. Could be really nice with some love and care along with police presence or security.

The house is wonderful, it’s just time for a little TLC to maintain its beauty.

Love the house it just needs some love and upkeep. The neighborhood is rough, so many homeless. Don’t leave anything in your car! Bring a sound machiene for sleep.... windows are beautiful but due to age of home they are single panel so when the homeless argue at night you hear it all. No dishwasher and the kitchen isn’t stocked real well so just pre plan! With all that said we still enjoyed the stay.

We like it.

We loved this old house. We felt safe even when we arrived at 10 pm both nights. During the day you do see a few homeless people but California is known for it. We didn’t have any issues with our vehicle, the homeless people, or the house. We slept good, used the showers and bathrooms, and refrigerator. No issues. We can tell there’s a roof leak but it didn’t rain when we were there. Someone patched the ceiling but they didn’t fix the roof leak. I’m assuming they know it’s a rental and the owners are not aware of this.

The Old Campton House

Interesting, fun place to stay for a few days. All of the Vacasa hosts I communicated with were very nice and accommodating. With that said, the house is very old and requires many renovations. A few things (such as the shower curtains, sinks, some flooring, piping) are broken or falling apart. Some windows were unable to be opened for a breeze and most of the windows could use curtains for some privacy and to block out the sun in the morning. The lack of toilet paper quickly became an issue, so we had to buy some of our own and resupply the bathrooms. The water pressure was also too high in the pink shower and the cold and hot faucet were reversed in the other shower. We tried our best to help preserve the nice wooden furniture, but had to improvise with paper towels due to no coasters being available. It was nice they had some spices for us to use and a full kitchen so we could do some cooking. The stove and oven were very confusing at first and limited in functionality, but we managed to figure them out enough for our cooking and baking needs. We appreciate the stay, but quite a few unexpected compromises had to be made throughout our overall nice visit to Eureka. Thanks for listening!

Not a good neighborhood, at all - very scary

The house was very roomy, nice and clean, although it was laid out kind of odd. Some of the light switches were confusing, and didn't seem to work right--but that could be expected in an old home. We had some hiccups checking in, such as getting through the double locked gate and front door, and figuring out where we were supposed to park our car (the driveway was fenced off, so you cannot park there). Unfortunately, there is only on-street parking, which we found out to be a bit of a problem, as there were people doing drugs behind our car, and several of the same cars kept driving around the block (over and over) for whatever reasons. It seems like all of the neighboring businesses, hotels, and apartments have high security fences, gates, keypads, and even "armed guards," according to several posted signs--but not this place. Ultimately, our kids were very scared from all of the yelling and screaming, coming from outside, all night long. This was made worse, with the fact that there are no blinds in the dining room, front room, and most of the sitting areas. After the first "sleepless night," we decided to walk away from the rest of the reservation, and stay somewhere else during our trip. The host wasn't any help on this, and ultimately blamed us for "not contacting the police." Walking away turned out to be the right thing to do - as according to the local police department, there was a shooting just a few houses away, from this rental. Naturally, we won't be back.
