Got a present on arrival for no reason :-)Fully fitted out apartment on a quiet street with hustle bustle just around the corner,Supermarket is 1 minute away.Next time hope the cycles work.
The place was great. Pretty central and close to a lot of things to do. Also close to the tram to get around. Lots of space and a nice little courtyard.
Your place suited our needs very well. It's well located for one to easily get around the city sites.
Would certainly come back again.
Thanks for helping to make our visit to Amsterdam one to remember.

I would not stay here again.
Paul, the owner of the house was very accommodating and let us in early. The location of the place was excellent.
The cleanliness of the place was poor.verpppoor. The place is outdated
My adult son, my adult daughter, and I stayed in this ground floor flat in Amsterdam. The flat was spacious, the master bedding was luxurious, and there was plenty of natural light. The kitchen had all the amenities to store and prepare food and dine at the dining room table. The best feature of all was the location right in the general Amsterdam Central area. There was a grocery store and plenty of restaurants and bars within close walking distance. On the downside, some of the furnishings were old and/or a bit beat up and the bathroom grout and metal cabinet need cleaning and new paint.

Great location!
I was so excited upon arrival that I didn’t look closely at the unit until after the owner left. I was shocked at the overall presence of the unit, but downplayed my disappointment since a place to sleep and shower were my true priorities. The items of concern were, but not limited to: dishwasher full of dirty dishes, unemptied (and full) bathroom trash can, unsafe sopping wet unit floor, old broken items such as lamps, dining room table, and a desk laden with graffiti. Disheveled linens in bedroom closet, unattractive bed/bedspread, old bikes, unkempt kitchen, old furnishings, entertainment equipment, and overall decor & artwork. Extreme mold on shower curtain and grimy walls throughout.
This unit has great potential, as it’s in a wonderful location. If the owner put $$ into the unit, replaced outdated furnishings, cleaned & painted walls, etc, it would be desirable and pleasant. I understand canal homes are old and may lack modern amenities - that’s the charm travelers enjoy! This should not affect the unit’s overall look & feel.
My husband and I are property managers, so our expectations may be different than a traveler who doesn’t look at a unit in a specific manner. I have high hopes for this unit as it, again, has potential to be wonderful.
This apartment is in a great location! Paul was very easy to work with. If you are looking for an updated apartment with modern furnishings, this is not the place for you. The apartment was very functional and met our needs. Very close to a grocery store and easy to get to the main tourist areas from this location. Enjoyed our stay.
The property needed some cleaning, decluttering some fixing up and paint. But was in a good neighborhood, had what we needed. Property had low price compared to what was around it.
The apartment is as pictured, but larger than it appears to be. Very accessible to everywhere in the city, and in a quiet neighborhood. The ad says it is wheelchair accessible, but in the true meaning of the phrase- it isnt for anyone that cant walk up a step. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, but there is a step up into the bathroom and again into the shower. It is suitable for a child or someone that is dependent on assistance, as there is plenty of room to help up the step.. A chair can move freely thru the apartment otherwise. Paul is a great host, and always available for questions, directions and problems. I would definitely stay here again.
Great host in a great location. Only reason I’m not giving it a 5 is because it was a bit dusty. Bathroom for sure needs some work but it was doable for 3 guys.
Pros: spacious apartment; great location; neighborhood has many restaurants, cafes and 2 grocery stores; Host Paul is very responsive
Cons: bathroom and kitchen are in rough shape
Amazing location and good basic accommodations in the Jordaan. We enjoyed hearing the church bells in our little patio. The bathroom is beat up but perfectly functional. For this price and location we were pleasantly surprised with the full kitchen including a dishwasher. Great stay and I would come back,
Communication with the owner was very good. When we came the flat was not ready, because we were early, but the owner let us leave our luggage there. The flat is well equipped, kitchen and bathroom are quite nice. Overall our impression was very good.
For the most part we liked this apartment. The location was easy to find and in a mostly quiet neighborhood. It wasn’t a bad walk to get to the locations we wanted to see and there is a grocery store about a minutes walk away. Paul was easy to contact and a very good host. Even gave us a bottle of wine which was very much appreciated after spending all day traveling. The apartment itself could use some work. Repaint the walls, replace caulking around the bathtub, get new towels for the bathroom. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The location and the owner were great. The place is falling apart.wires and cobwebs drape the ceiling, cracks in walls and floors, serious mold in bath tiles. BUT the location is perfect, and it is very large. Owner Paul is very responsive and nice.

About the host
Hosted by pbieshaar
I'm living here now for almost 30 years. I saw this area rising to the nicest area in Amsterdam. I live here now with my family upstairs. The plan is in the future to live at the basement as well. It is a beautifull place with a beautifull patio. I put a new bathroom and kitchen in it at the end of 2012 because of two reviews. Because I'm living upstairs I don't want any complaints.
Why they chose this property
It is still a quiet apartment in the middle of the centre. For me it is the best neighbourhood of Amsterdam.
What makes this property unique
You can walk/cycle to every part in the centre within 10-15 minutes. Lot of restaurants and bars. Markets and good shops. Within 10 minutes in a park. In fact everything is available.
