Adorable 2 Bed, 2 Bath Cottage in Historic Beaufort
30 Day Minimum Stay
This house was originally built on the Marine base at Parris Island. Moved to Pigeon Point Road in the 50's and then moved again in 2001 to it's present location on Laudonniere St. It was just 14' by 42' (a shotgun house) . We added two bedrooms & two baths. In 2008 we added a fireplace bay and a dinning bay in the living room and two walk-in closets in the bedrooms +made a coat closet in the hallway. It is now a full functioning house with cathedral ceilings and fans throughout, heart pine flooring and even a claw-foot bathtub. Most people who walk in the front door for the first time fall in love with it.

This is a wonderful house. Full of books and charming little things. We stayed a week and enjoyed every day. An old house, but well maintained. New appliances throughout, everything was clean and working.
Property was adorable, clean, and was in prime location.
Anything and Everything needed was provided in house!
Hosts were helpful and easy to work with! Great find!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The home is well appointed with nice furnishings. Eric and Jan were responsive and helpful. I certainly recommend other guests to stay here.
My husband and I found this house very peaceful and comfortable, have enjoyed our stay, would love to come back. The kitchen is set up well, we found everything we needed made several meals while we were here. Little touches throughout the home enhance the stay: a basket of items people tend to forget, small lamps for warm light around the home, makeup wash cloth, small vases of flowers. There is the claw foot tub, that I enjoyed, the shower is also enjoyable with good water pressure and plenty of room. The beds are firm. Though the house is on the smaller side, it never feels small. The high ceilings, two bay areas, lots of windows all feel light and airy. Enjoyed the history of the house (relocated from Parris Island), and also the photographs on the walls, many taken by one of the owners who is a professional photographer. There are plenty of books, some by Pat Conroy who lived in the area (we were inspired to watch “The Great Santini” while here). All together our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and peaceful. Just what we needed.

About the host
Hosted by Eric or Jan
I had a long career as a commercial advertising photographer working in the resort marketing segment. In 2009 I semi-retired as a wildlife photographer and guide and still have clients who join me for wildlife adventures in South Carolina, Georgia Florida, Costa Rica, Montana, Virginia, and Maine. My wife Jan and I met at Hilton Head Island in 1990. Jan is a multi talented wife, mother artist, writer, marketing and business manager, organic gardener and cook.
Why they chose this property
The 1106 cottage has been a labor of love since we hauled the 14 x 42' Marine base building to the lot in 1999. After two major renovations it is the cute little cottage you see today, built strong with heart pine materials back in the early 50's. Considered small at just 1,100 sq. ft. this little home lives large with it's high ceilings, hardwood floors, ceiling fans and porches out all doors. It is equipped for long term living with full functioning kitchen and laundry room plus an antique claw-foot bathtub in one bath and full shower in the other.
What makes this property unique
Close to historic downtown, shopping, Hunting Island State Park - swimming beaches, hiking & biking trails. Walking distance to town, shopping, public tennis courts and Tennis pro, national cemetery.
