We loved the lake house, being able to just walk outside and go fishing, canoeing or kayaking was amazing!
Came to Glenwood for our annual visit and once again stayed at the Giant Oak Cabin. Such a great place to gather with family! Already looking forward to our next stay!
Surprising large cabin on peninsula, so very private
Roomy cabin, super clean and quiet. Loved the 8 track player with tapes, it brought back fond memories. Well stocked kitchen and comfy beds. Canoes kayaks and life vests available to use. Sadly it rained so we will have to come back to give those a try.
Wonderful vacation home! We enjoyed the convenient kitchen, the book shelf and nice chairs, the piano to sing around in the evening and the comfortable beds to sleep in. We have many happy mrmories.
The aging Camper Girls decided to Glamp this year and what a great spot we found. Gorgeous lake views, a fire ring for our camper pies and s'mores, a bed for all and running water! We loved it.
We enjoyed watching and hearing the martins in the backyard, we saw pelicans on the lake when we were kayaking (happy to have 3 provided), we played games on the game table and enjoyed hiking, disc golf and wineries in the area. It was a great get-away location!
Had lots of room in this cabin. Outdoor space was nice fur a bonfire and taking out the canoe. There is no Wi-Fi or TV in this cabin so be sure to have enough for kids to do.
We stayed for 4 days- a family of 5 ages 21 to 90 years of age. The property was delightful. We enjoyed the views both inside and outside. Beds were extremely comfortable. We took the canoe on the lake, barbecued meals, and overall just had a great experience. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our time. The cabin fit our needs. Who needs television and Wi-Fi! There was so much to enjoy: the lake, the kayaks and canoes, the fire pit, the books, the games, the stunning sunrises and moon over the lake and the privacy of a clean, well maintained cabin.
Family of 3 enjoyed this beautifully secluded cottage for a long summer weekend. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen contained everything we needed for the weekend. Communication with the owner couldn’t have been smoother or easier. The location was excellent with expansive views of the lake from several rooms. The canoe/kayak equipment was excellent and gave us the opportunity to tour the lake.
Cabin was nice with a beautiful view of the lake out 3 sides. I would consider the cabin a "true cabin", meaning there wasn't a lot of luxury, but what we had did keep us comfortable, clean and dry. It felt like staying at grandma's cabin (in a good way). They had an eight track player with a variety of tapes to play, that was a blast from the past. Fun to see the pelicans on the lake in the evening, saw a deer wonder through one morning. Fishing was good right off the dock, but was nice to have a boat there also.
All in all this is nice place to stay and would come back for another weekend stay.
We rented the Giant Oak Cabin for a guys weekend get together and it couldnt have been more perfect. The process went very smoothly with the owners being good communicators. We arrived and although definately an older home, it was good sized with plenty of room. Now if you want TV or Wifi, this isnt for you but if you want a place that is surrounded by water on three sides with lots of room for outdoor games, then this is perfect! As a group we just wanted to hang out by the lake, grill out, play some bags and have a campfire. This property checked all those boxes. The large dining room table was perfect for cards at night as well as was large enough for 7 of us to eat meals together there. The views of the lake are fantastic! The only negatives were that the water was definately "lake water" and the cabin smelled like an older cabin, but neither of those are deal breakers, you are staying at the lake, its what we expected.
We would definately stay again!
This property was very peaceful and calming. It's at the end of a road in a point. It has neighbors but, you can't see them or hear them from this place. The house is a little dated, but well kept. No TV or WiFi, just nature and family. We really enjoyed our stay. We saw so many turtles, from snappers to painted, lots of fish, good fishing off the dock, even see carp spawning right on the shoreline of this place. The bird house was full of baby birds, lots of pelicans, geese and goslings, and even a green heron. The kayaks and conoes were a big hit with the family as well. It's nice to not have to bring our own to fully enjoy this lake. The house has everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Kitchen was pretty well stocked with what we needed to cook with. Nice charcoal grill. The beds were nice and comfortable. The hosts were very prompt and courteous. We had a coffee pot stop working and they were there within 20 with another one. All in all, if you want a peaceful place to enjoy nature and relax, this is a great place to stay. We really hope we can stay here again next year when we come to this area.
The view and location is beautiful. The cabin is spacious and clean. The furniture is dated but honestly it added to the charm of a real lake cabin vs some rentals full of ikea furniture. If we're in the area we would 100% stay again.
The cabin is at the end of the road so felt very private with great views of the lake. Hoping to bring the grandkids maybe next summer.

Why they chose this property
We looked at many properties and were so excited when we found this particular space. It is almost 3 acres, at the end of a quiet road and the lake front is very private.
