This cabin was a great winter getaway. We enjoyed the beautiful view and spending time out on the beach. The ferry dock is super easy to get to and if you don’t mind the hill even walking into town for coffee was easy to do.
The house on the beach has a real cabin feel which was just what we were looking for in our winter getaway. We found the heat on but the cabin was cold when we arrived. No surprise - it was near 40F outside. There is a mini-split in the open living space and electric wall heaters in each bedroom, in the laundry room, and a heater in the bathroom. It took a while to warm the place up and we were quite comfortable once the chill in the cabin was gone.We tried using the wood burning fireplace insert but we couldn’t get it to draw well and it started seeping smoke into the room. So we just aired out the cabin and gave up on the fireplace since we didn’t want to risk more smoke. I suggest some clear written instructions for how best to get the fireplace to draw so it doesn’t smoke (open the flue [indicate which way is open], window cracked, get a good blaze going, and only then close the door). That was our only hiccup. Not really a problem in the summer time but a fire would have been nice on those cold winter nights. The kitchen is a dream. It is well equipped with everything you need to cook meals indoors. The beds are comfortable and there are ample blankets/duvets and pillows. Check out instructions are posted on the wall behind the front door rather than in the VRBO instructions. The view is what one would want at the beach - Logs and sand, water, and ferries going by. It just felt like our childhood spent vacationing on this beach. Wonderful! We will stay again
Stayed here with family over Christmas. The bedrooms are small but the place is clean and the kitchen is well appointed. You can't beat being able to sit and watch the ferries go by.
The beach house had everything we needed for a relaxing, comfortable getaway. Our family especially enjoyed the easy beach access, the fire pit, and watching the ferries come and go.
We were their for my grandson's graduation. The VRBO was basically just a place to sleep. It was very adequate for our purpose and although we did not cook their it was well appointed for that purpose. We were quite comfortable there and I liked seeing the ferries come and go.
This is a great property for 2-5 folks, right on the Beach, great views of the sound with the Ferry crossing all day.. Well appointed house, very warm and comfortable..
Will def be back..
Great location near the ferry dock, very clean, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and bathroom. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the beach. Beautiful views of the passing ferries. We would definitely return in the future.
We had a fantastic stay in Clinton! Once we figured out that the Mr. Cool was also a heater (thank you, Larry!), we spent a lot of time cozied up on the couch reading our books and watching the ferries come and go. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and pots/pans. The individual room heaters were fantastic for those of us who run hot or cold. Great water pressure in the shower. The place was sparkling clean upon arrival. We loved being so close to the water, close to the ferry terminal, and the house is a true gem. We'd love to come back and stay again!
Bed was amazing! Kitchen was well supplied. Easy access right off car ferry. We had some difficulty with television and trying to get local channels. My only complaint is that the toilet stall was narrow. Difficult for a large person to wipe themselves
This pace was perfect for our stay, walkable to the ferry if needed, even better views of the ferry going in and out all day, the sunrise was unreal. The home is exactly as portrayed in the photos and worked well for our group of 3 adults. Amenities worked and the check out process was simple. The lawn and beach access are the highlight, great space for activities! As someone who grew up going to Whidbey on other parts of the island this was a new highlight, so close Langley and new spots to check out in Clinton!
We had such a blast - the house was just the right fit for us. Comfortable and casual. We are no fuss kind of girls, and everything about our stay was easy breezy...except the fact I totally thought I was renting a place in Port Townsend. Haha, my bad; but it all worked out for the best. Happy trails!
We enjoyed having our little slice of beach to explore when the others were packed on the holiday weekend. Neighbors were friendly, the house is close to great amenities, and watching the ferries was an added bonus. Thank you for a great place and stay!
