Situated 20 mins from Wellsford SH1 or if you prefer the scenic SH16 drive from Auckland through Kaukapakapa, only 1 hour 10 mins.

Orongo Point offers the ultimate getaway experience with 200 acres of private farmland and 3 kms of pristine forested coastline to explore, with access to its own private and magnificent white sandy beach.

Orongo Point bach provides simple kiwi style bach accommodation and is the perfect base to explore this amazing part of New Zealand.

The bach is a rustic-styled, 2 bedroom timber hut with adjoining outdoor deck to enjoy the views of Lemon Tree Bay. Inside there is a master bedroom - with a luxurious queen size bed. The second bedroom offers bunk accommodation with two single beds. The kitchen is modern and well appointed with plenty of fridge space.

Timber lining gives the bach a rustic, natural charm which is surrounded by a mature garden and fruit orchard. The interior decor is cosy, but contemporary.

Pets are welcome. We get a lot of visitors bringing their dogs with them. They love the freedom and space to run around too.

There is plenty of room around the bach to put tents up too.

Please remember to bring your own linen and towels. We have plenty of duvets, blankets and throws to keep you warm and cosy.

We love our special part of New Zealand and encourage you to take your rubbish with you.

Easy break

Our family loved our stay at this bach. We were after a break away from Auckland and this didn’t disappoint. Lots of space for the kids and dog to run wild and we really enjoyed being able to explore back beach. A really easy stress free break.

A great little escape!

Linda's a fantastic host. The little property was absolutely perfect and was everything we'd hoped for. Peaceful and quiet & surrounded by farm life with a little view of the ocean. Perfect off the grid holiday

I loved every minute of my holiday. A beautiful location to relax, unwind and get in touch with nature. Get for pets. Kaiya loved the freedom and the long walks to the beach. The best place to recharge and re-centre. Cant wait to go back.

Tapora and oysters on the beaches

the property is large with free range over the farm. the bach itself is small to accommodate more than 2 if forced to stay inside. the deck and tables / chairs are just perfect when the weather is nice. lots of oysters - small rock variety - so a bit of work to collect enough for a feed. Beware the sucky mud when walking on some areas of the beaches. Gran and Gandad for a week great. Mum Dad and two preschoolers for a night = ok. plenty of toys and games.

Great views lovely and peaceful place to rest Fabulous for my dogs .beach walks and beach was nice Highlight was sitting around the fire pit on the last night Tried to cut some kindling but the hitch it was blunt so we were only out there for a light while Location of key to the Bach was easy to find ,easy entry and easy to look up 😃👍

We had a enjoyable time staying at the Tapora Bach, the Bach was cozy and was very well equipped! The back beach was beautiful and secluded, a great place to sit and ponder. The farmers were very friendly and we liked watching the goings on around the farm, as we were ex dairy farmers! Just the relaxing break we needed! Many thanks! 😊

Lovely setting

Was everything I was hoping for. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. The back beach was beautiful with great fishing. And our dogs loved it. Highly recommend this property.

Enjoyable Stay

My stay was for work purposes so was looking for a comfortable place to rest at the end of each day. This worked out really well, extremely peaceful and all the necessary ammenities available. Easy check in, and communication from Linda was great throughout. A picturesque area with very friendly locals. For these reasons I would highly recommend to anyone.

Something/ somewhere different! Access to the beach although a wee bit of walk was well worth it, private with lovely warm water, nice and shallow for the kids. We all enjoyed our stay including the pooch.
