About this property

Best view in Georgia. Unbelievably peaceful. Amazing night sky.

20 minutes from Blue Ridge, Blairsville, and Murphy, NC. Only about 2 hours from the Atlanta metro area. Magnificent views from all 3 stories. 3 bed/3 bath plus bunk beds. 2500 sq ft - Large enough for families but cozy enough for couples.

When the sun rises you will often be treated to a giant lake of fog just below fed by Lake Nottely. At an elevation of 2,200 feet above sea level, we have a panoramic view of the tallest mountains in Georgia including Brasstown Bald and Blood Mountain.

The main floor includes a guest room with king-sized bed, full bathroom with bidet, laundry closet, open floor plan with fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, and living room with gas log fireplace. The living room has a large power reclining sofa and loveseat, 65" 4K OLED HDR Smart TV, and Blu-ray player. Internet is 50mbps+. A sliding glass door opens to a large wraparound deck that includes a covered seating area with a wood-burning fireplace and gas grill.

The top floor features a private primary suite with king-sized bed and large bathroom with bidet and separate tub and shower.

The basement features 100-year-old reclaimed wood for an accent wall and two barn doors. The bathroom features a fully tiled walk-in shower. Bunk beds are in their own semi-private space. The private bedroom on this floor has a queen-sized bed. There is a gathering space with gas log fireplace, 65" 4K Smart TV, Blu-ray Player, Xbox/PS4, and surround-sound system for a great movie or sports watching experience. You can also step out onto the lower level wrap-around deck and enjoy the views.

Our cabin is situated on a mountain ridge. Access is easy for any typical vehicle except in very rare extreme winter weather. You will be far enough away from town to not hear any traffic but within reasonable driving distance of three towns with grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and other necessities. A 20-minute drive will take you to Blue Ridge, Blairsville, or Murphy, NC.

Easy access to fishing and boating on Nottely Lake (15 minutes) or Lake Blue Ridge (20 minutes). Cherokee Nation Casino in Murphy, North Carolina is less than 30 minutes away. Plenty of hiking in the Chattahoochee National Forest, Appalachian Trail, and much more. AllTrails.com is a great resource.

A relaxing stay with fantastic views

Could not have asked for a more enjoyable stay. Communication with the owners was easy and they respond quickly. The cabin itself is so beautiful and clean. Also, an easy drive up the mountain making it easy to go into town and hiking to the waterfalls in the area. Our favorite part had to be the outdoor fireplace where we spent most of our evenings. If you're looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful views, we would definitely recommend this cabin. If you're staying at the cabin and you see

NYE Trip

This was an amazing cabin to be able to escape and enjoy time with friends to ring in the new year!!! It has plenty of room for everyone and was extremely clean! The property is secluded enough but close to plenty of places. We took a day trip to Blue Ridge and then the next day took a trip to Murphy to the casino!! We are already looking to stay again!!!

Great Escape!

This is a great cabin! Our group of ten was very comfortable. The deck and views were amazing. We spent most of our time around the outdoor fireplace. We found everything that we needed to cook, grill, and feel at home! The owners were wonderful- very friendly and quick to respond. It was a great place to escape from it all- that being said, it is kinda far from things to do. If you are looking for peace and quiet away from it all, this is the place!

Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful relaxing cabin. The view from the deck is far more beautiful than the photos posted. We spent many mornings and afternoons on the deck listening to the birds and even spotting some deer and turkey in the yard. The location for us was perfect. The cabin is situated near the top of a ridge with views on both sides and other than the sounds of nature, very quiet and peaceful. The cabin has everything and feels like a home away from home. We look forward to our next visit very soon!

Breath Taking View

It’s an amazing cabin with an incredible view...my second visit. Hope to come back in the fall. If you want to experience a relaxing and enjoyable vacation, this is the perfect cabin. We love the covered outdoor fireplace. It’s the focal point to gather after a day of exploring the area. .... I love the reclining sofas, the decor and the spaciousness of the cabin. It’s secluded yet close to all activities. Waking up to the breath taking view is the best way to start your day. The owners are attentive to any questions and most accommodating .

The cabin and view was absolutely gorgeous and very hospitable

My family and I spent the Thanksgiving holidays in Blue Ridge Ga and surrounding areas. We stayed in the Walk in the Clouds cabin in Morganton and it was everything we could ask for, plenty of room and a very homey atmosphere. We had adults we had a 9 year old and 6 year old and 17 month old children along with a 3 month old and had a very comfortable place and plenty to entertain all. We cooked our Thanksgiving dinner in a very well stocked kitchen so everyone enjoyed it just like at home except we had a spectacular view from high atop the mountain and every sunrise and every evening was something to behold. There is plenty of things to do within minutes around the area,I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away for a while.

Wonderful memories

We can boast being the first wedding at the cabin. The cabin was beautiful and we were married in front of the outdoor fireplace, with a roaring fire. It was a rainy day and the covered deck served its purpose. The cabin also served as our honeymoon destination and we were able to enjoy the start of our marriage in a beautiful place. We had a snag in the timing and the owner was so gracious in adjusting times for us. Thank you for allowing us to share this special time with our family and each other in such a beautiful place.

Stunning views!

We were initially worried that our trip would be spoiled by rainy weather, but that actually enhanced the amazing experience of the fog/clouds. The view from this cabin is only comparable to what I have seen in Wyoming and California - just breathtaking! We took all of our own food and stayed put in the cabin for the whole weekend - so peaceful. The cabin has everything you need and we spent a nice weekend away from the city just catching our breath. Due to the rain, we didn't get to see the starry night - but what a great excuse to return! :) Thank you, Chris, for sharing this amazing property!

Best View in Georgia - Even in the Rain!

We had a wonderful weekend at this house even though it was cloudy and we didn't get to see the sky - which is why we booked the place. But we will be back when the weather is better. I can only imagine what they sky will be like from the top of that mountain. I think the house was the cleanest rental I've ever seen. It is very nicely furnished and is very comfortable. We had a quick mix up on the door code and had to contact the owners. We got an immediate response. The house and location are both incredible. Since it was cloudy and we couldn't see the night sky, we spent all of the daylight hours sitting on the deck watching clouds pass through the valley and over distant mountains. When the cool wind and threat of rain chased us off the exposed deck, we went to the covered deck and built a fire. Thanks, Chuck and Christine! We will definitely book again if we can find clear weather!

Gorgeous View

We had a fabulous time at this cabin. The Mountain View was just gorgeous. The cabin was well stocked and there was plenty of room with three floors of bedrooms. We totally enjoyed the outdoor fireplace. It was a great place to gather and talk or read a book in front of a nice warm fire. We actually ran out of firewood but Chuck managed to get that restocked for us. The only issue we encountered was getting the access code for entry. We didn’t have it on the day we were supposed to check in and we had to contact Chuck to get it. I like to have the code a little more in advance just in case the cell service is spotty on the trip there and we have trouble communicating. But overall we had a great stay.

Marc H., Loganville GA,

Reaching the summit is always worth the climb!

We stayed at this beautiful home while we were in the mountains for my daughter’s Wedding in Murphy, NC. My niece’s family of five enjoyed the lower floor (the most adorable space!) to themselves, but joined us for meals on the main floor and we spilled outside to the covered deck while it rained. Another couple enjoyed the upstairs suite with its lofty bed and deep tub! We felt at home and found everything we needed, including a small stocked pantry to share. The view is everything they say and more. Also, our dog loved the bowls and cushioned bench! Just be sure to follow their directions and don’t necessarily listen to your GPS! Note: we left behind prescription glasses and a favorite child’s pillow: Chris was super prompt in responding and getting it returned to us!!!

Clean, cozy, and accommodating

Our family of 6, ages range 1-11, were very comfortable in this cozy cabin. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating. Cabin had everything we needed, but nothing cluttered which was nice for having small kids around. Kitchen was well stocked, but not much space for pantry items, so keep in mind if staying awhile and eating in. Lots of cozy blankets, easy to follow instructions for fireplaces and TVs. (We should have brought a baby gate due to staircases.) They had a great collection of games, cards, movies for all ages. Streaming movies buffered a lot, so the dvds came in handy. There are two houses on either side, but we never saw or heard anyone else on the mountain. Cabin is about a 30 minute drive to downtown blue ridge. We recommend this cabin!

Wonderful weekend getaway!

This was a return visit for us - we love this house! The view cannot be beat...but we didn't have a view this time due to rain! :( So, we did some exploring/shopping in Blue Ridge on Saturday and had a great meal at Southern Charm. We also visited the Mercier apple farm and did a cider tasting. And of course, we watched quite a bit of football! We cooked some great meals and had a great time despite the weather. We used the outdoor fireplace each night and we were amazed at how warm it could keep you even on a cold night. Beds are super comfy, furniture upstairs was plenty for the 4 of us (enjoyed the recliners!), and the house was very clean as always. The house had everything we needed except for a functioning can opener - dear owner, please purchase - both of them are broken! ;) We highly recommend this house - you can't ask for a better weekend or a more relaxing location. Thank you so much for sharing it with us!

Great place to get away from it all!

This was a wonderful house for our group of five. So spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Having living space on two levels gave us plenty of room to spread out and do our own thing. The three bedrooms, plus bunk area, were arranged so there was good privacy. And the beds were super comfortable! The house is furnished perfectly, with up-to-date appliances and all you need if you want to cook. The views from the decks are awesome and we enjoyed sitting outside quite a bit. It was quiet and pleasant. The house is "on a mountain in the woods" so getting to it is a little intimidating the first time. However, after we made a couple of trips into town, we were fine with the journey. Town is close enough and there are shops and restaurants to enjoy. Don't miss the train ride--it was very enjoyable. If you stay in to relax, satellite tv and wifi work great. Chris was great to work with and handled the one issue we had promptly. (A minor AC problem.) This was definitely one of the best places our family has stayed in our numerous years of getting away for a week together. We are already talking about making a return visit.

Perfect getaway

Yes, that view really is awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals (but bring your own spices, sugar, coffee, oil, etc.), bathrooms were clean, the bed in master bedroom was very comfortable, there was plenty propane for grill and a stack of wood for outdoor fireplace. As dumb luck would have it, we were directly in the path of the remnants of hurricane Zeta. We were aware of that possibility when we left home so we brought extra supplies, and Chuck (the owner) told us where flashlights and batteries were located. It was quite a gusty night that left us without power for almost 3 hours the next morning and again for 2 hours the following morning. Chuck checked in on us early and stayed in touch via texts sending us info about the power outage. While outside, we spoke with neighbors from down the road who offered to store some of our cold food in case the power was out for a long time. Chainsaws could be heard as soon as it got light (there were several large trees that had apparently fallen and blocked the road). We were impressed by the quick response from everyone! And thanks to the well-supplied cabin, we were able to heat the water kettle on the side burner of the grill and use the French press to make fresh coffee. The gas fireplace took the chill out of the air. All was good! We took a few short excursions every day (both the paved and dirt roads are well maintained) but spent most of our time just enjoying the deck, fresh air and beautiful view. The home is great, and the owners are very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. We definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back some day. Note: The front door has a timed/auto-lock so make sure you remember the code when you go outside because the door will lock itself after a few minutes.

Soul Soothing.

The pictures do not lie - the views are breathtaking. We traveled from Florida and we were not disappointed. July in the Blue Ridge Mountains is amazing. The weather was in the 80's but the cool mountain air makes it enjoyable and the nights were around 68, perfect sleeping weather! The views change with the time of day but are amazing all the same! Your eyes will never tire at seeing the amazing views not only from the deck but through the glass sliding doors visible from both the Living Room and Kitchen. This house is on top of the mountain with access by a narrow road, so this is not for the faint of heart, height fearing Phobiac. However, the initial fear of the road fades after a couple of days. The house is beautiful and roomy. The top floor, the Master Suite w/King Main Level, 2nd BR w/Queen Lower Level, 2nd Deck, Bunk Beds, Queen Bed, 2nd LR w/pull out Couch. Recommendations. Games. Previous comments stated the house had Board Games, so we didn't pack any. Unfortunately, they only had two games and they were missing pieces. A good Scrabble game is a must! Small Table. Although the picture shows a small table on the deck with direct mountain view, there was no small table. I would have really enjoyed having a small table there. The side deck with fireplace has a large metal table w/ heavy metal chairs, I actually hurt myself attempting to move the chair to the rear deck to have coffee. Heavy Quilts. The beds had heavy quilts. For the summer months, it would be nice to have light blankets. We visited five towns. Murphy, NC, Copperhill, TN, McCaysville, Morganton and Helen, Ga. I recommend visiting the town of Helen which was architecturally designed with the charm of Bavaria. An active town with many shops & restaurants, as well as, Zip-Lining and River tubing ($5) for a one hour float. A great quiet day for everyone to enjoy is the Blue Ridge Lake. Just steps from the parking lot is a strip of tree-shaded picnic tables that edge up to a narrow strip of beach. The design is perfect for the entire family, those who prefer shade and seating (grandma), who can comfortably enjoy the day while watching the kids play. A small hut a few yards away for refreshments, ice cream, float, kayak and paddle board rentals. Some picnic tables have BBQ's. Parking is $5, another inexpensive yet satisfying experience.

About the host

Hosted by Chuck & Christine

Host profile image
We'd been renting cabins in the North Georgia Mountains for over 20 years and we finally decided it was time to call one our own.

Christine is a native Georgian, having grown up in Carrollton. She is a pediatrician currently looking after newborns at Atlanta's baby factory, Northside Hospital. In her free time she likes to whip up creations in her craft room.

Chuck is originally from the Chicagoland area, but has spent most of his life in Georgia. He works for Cox Automotive designing websites, mobile apps, and more. In his free time he's probably doing something home-improvement related.

We have two awesome kids. Joshua is attending UGA studying mathematics and education, and Cody is attending George Mason University studying ecology.

We have two rescue dogs - Lucy and Kenzie have discovered they like the mountains as much as we do. They join our cat Apple (she's a stay-indoors-at-lower-altitudes type) to round out our family.

When we're not in the mountains we are just under two hours away in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.

Why they chose this property

The views from our place are nothing short of spectacular. We can't wait to spend time here and enjoy the views whether it is with a cup of coffee in the morning or a nice glass of wine at night. If you've never seen the Milky Way just wait until dark on a clear night and it won't disappoint. You're almost guaranteed to see some shooting stars.

We have a lot of criteria when finding a place in the mountains, and this cabin checked all of them - great view, peaceful, comfortable rooms, a good place to cook a meal, easy (but not too easy) access, a cabin (not a house!), hangout space (for the adults *and* the kids), outdoor fireplace, and easy access to nearby towns.

The basement is a great place to watch a movie. One of our family traditions when in the mountains is playing board/card games (Risk, Cataan, Canasta, and more) on the large game table there.

What makes this property unique

Have we mentioned the view? The night sky is spectacular. It's also unbelievably peaceful.

You're just 20 minutes away from anything you need - restaurants, shopping, activities, and more. But once you're here we don't think you'll want to leave.
