Very clean and orderly cabin. Situated in the countryside. Private and secluded. We stayed here to go diving at Mermet Springs. Its conveniently located between some really nice state parks and cool small towns. We enjoyed diving, hiking and visiting Supermans hometown of Metropolis. Would stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. While my husband took time to go hunting nearby, I was able to enjoy hiking trails, the chocolate factory and around the lake. We definitely plan to come back.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The listing was accurate and the cabin was clean and well appointed for our needs. If you’re looking for a fun little quiet accommodation in a peaceful setting,or planning a hunting trip in the area, this is a great option.
It was quiet, clean, and perfect for time to spend with the outdoors to enjoy our mornings sitting on the porch listening to nature. If you enjoying hiking would recommend Tunnel Hill
If your looking for remote and quiet this is the place. The only drawback is the stairs to the upper bedrooms but, other than that it was a great place
The cabin was great. It was clean, comfortable, and worked great for our needs. The drop down ladder/stairs to the loft were not an issue for our group. The kitchen had just what we needed to make breakfast and dinner. We basically only slept there because we explored all day. We did bbq and have a fire at night.

Quiet Cabin in Shawnee National Forest
This cabin is adorable and had all the amenities of home. It was very clean and the property itself was beautiful. It was very quiet, and was perfect for a small family. We opted to sleep on the pullout couch as the loft beds required climbing a steep ladder. This wouldn't be practical trying to get to bathroom at night. Please know the cabin is located next to another home, but we never saw anyone at that home while we were there. It is a very remote location if you want seclusion.
Great little cabin. 5 stars. Definitely bring extra bug spray in the warmer months. Hosts provided some and we were grateful but you’ll definitely need it.
We were looking for a nice peaceful secluded place near Shawnee to celebrate our anniversary and we found it! Everything was very clean and neat and in excellent condition. We would highly recommend Rocky Ridge.

I had picked this stay on a whim, not knowing how it would be but interested in the layout — I could not have picked a better place. Everything is stocked in the cabin, including condiments and spices, you are given freedom to use the resources so long as everything is put back when you’re done. The property is maintained very well and plenty of other hot spots are within driving distance. We had a great time — very scenic. Definitely would recommend and come again.
Very secluded, very nicely kept. I was not a fan of the very dangerous stairs to the bed room and beds upstairs. We were very worried about us falling down them at night, so we just stayed on the very uncomfortable pull out couch. Over all is was a fantastic time, absolutely a beautiful piece of property and we do appreciate you sharing that with us. Thank you, Brian
Remote little cabin. 1 neighbor, friendly and quiet. We had an amazing time hiking, and mushroom hunting, we also went to the beach at Lake Glendale. The water was pretty much bath water but we had a good time anyway. The cabin was super clean, but did have a mustiness to it, esp the upstairs sleeping area. We were recovering from a cold to it was noticable. Similar when I stay at my grandma's house. Updated/all new appliances and updated bathroom. Really good internet connection. Plenty of hot water. The ladder upstairs to sleeping quarters was manageable. We took our 3.5 and 1.5 year old so we just kept it closed during the day. The baby slept in a baby cage at night so we didn't have to worry about her wandering. We also brought our 2 dogs who stayed on the lower level.
