I have always loved this little cottage and was thrilled to be able to stay there when we returned to CoMo after moving away 2 yrs ago. Many of my local friends stopped by for a tour. It is a unique property with many features expected of an older historic home (creaky floors and short doorways). Not a place for small children or people with a problem with steps up or down into the various rooms. Good location to get everywhere in town and only mild road noise from Ash and West. I was originally worried about the parking space but had no problems backing out onto Ash.
Second time we have stayed here. Everything is great. House, neighborhood and proximity to everything. We love staying here and it's the perfect size for us.
Wonderful little, big home. Very clean, the beds are so comfortable and the pillows smell great (I always bring my own, but here it wasn't necessary)
Lovely garden.
The home is equipped with all of the necessaries.
Very close to shopping, restaurants and the University.
Love old homes very much loved this one.
We loved our stay at the Hobbit House. It's a charming little house in a great neighborhood, a five minute drive from downtown Columbia. Communicating with the owner was great, and the house had everything we needed.
We enjoyed staying in this iconic house when we were in town for Mareck Dance’s fall show. Such a cute place! The owner was super responsive and we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
My friends and I loved staying in this house for a long weekend in Columbia! It was the perfect size for a small group of friends and the host had excellent communication in the lead up and throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend!
In a great location. Clean and comfortable. However if you are tall may be a concern. A historical home that has very low ceilings and has step-downs to several of the rooms.
Very rustic feeling.
We were here for Mizzou graduation. The home is very close to campus and the downtown area. It was nicely furnished and looked very cute decorated for Christmas. We really enjoyed our stay!
Stayed in this adorable house when visiting family. Absolutely loved the welcoming home, enjoyed walking in the neighborhood, and appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout. Highly recommend. Thank you!
Family visit for granddaughters 1st birthday. 5 adults slept comfortably. Very clean and very quiet. Thought there might be a lot of street noise, but were pleased how quiet it was at night. Comfortable beds. Convenient location.
Enjoyed our stay very much.
Such a charming cottage. The living room is great for gathering and the 3 bedrooms are cozy. Spotless with a great vibe. Communication, checkin and checkout flawless and fast.
What a wonderful place for our family to gather as we were celebrating the graduation of our niece!
The garden is beautiful and the house is so charming- every little detail! We felt right at home immediately. Everything we needed was right there! We want to go back!!!
This is such an amazing property! We enjoyed reading about the history of this house in the materials that were in the living room. There were so many things we enjoyed from the comfy living room furniture to the long table for games to the patio seating area outside.
Thank you for sharing this house with everyone!
Such a beautiful little cottage. Close to everything in Columbia. The cottage was decorated beautifully and has such fun character. Sunroom has a big ranch style table for a big gathering or crafting. Everything was great will definitely stay there every time I visit my Mizzou Tiger! Thank You Jessie!
My daughter and I met my dad and my brother to spend some time together after everyone had been vaccinated. We really enjoyed the house. It was clean, well equipped, and beautiful. Exactly as described! We would definitely stay again. Loved the attention to detail and the historic information on the house that was available.
I cannot express enough how perfect this experience was from start to finish.
I have stayed in many vrbo rentals and there has never been a location with more charm and history. We were in town for a girls weekend and to visit my daughter.
From the moment we pulled up we said it was like we were staying in a fairytale cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed looking through the historical information and the little touches added to each room. Communication with the owner was great and we are already anxious to plan our next stay.
From the second we arrived we were all in love. The charm and details in this house is top notch. We needed to be close to Mizzou for a swim meet. We had 7 in our group.
Let me start with the fact that the towels were so thick and fluffy. The bedding arrangements were so soft and plush. They felt so expensive. There’s a huge table in the sun room. We played games that were provided. We wanted to use the fire pit area, unfortunately it rained the whole weekend. There’s not enough stars to give this listing. Jessica went above and beyond. We will be back as soon as we can.
Football games or visiting your kiddos at the campus. Do yourself a huge favor and book this house. Details details details are awaiting.
I have so much I want to say about this property, I'm not sure I can squeeze it all in here. To start communication with the property managers/owners was fantastic. Check in and check out was a breeze. Seriously that was the least amount of effort I have ever had to do leaving a rental property. The house itself is so darling. It sits at the corner of an intersection, we were here over a weekend and we did not find it to be a busy intersection at all. The driveway is actually located to the side of the house which is on the other street. Not a big deal and super easy to figure out. Our stay was during the winter so we didn't get to take advantage of hanging out in the yard but I bet it's gorgeous Spring through Fall. Ok, so the inside......charming! The owners have articles with information on the history of this house, definitely worth a read. You can see so many of the past owners craftsmanship and care through out the home. If you love older homes you will love staying here. The current owners have made this a wonderful place to stay. Well furnished and super clean. They have all the basics there for you, coffee pods, seasoning, pots/pans, etc. plus some little extras :-). We definitely felt right at home and were able to relax for our weekend getaway. They have plenty of games for their guests, which we totally took advantage of. It's also a great location, we were not far from where we wanted to hike. Not to mention lots of great restaurants to choose from. Very easy to pickup food and come back to enjoy a cozy night in. If you have the opportunity to stay here, you should!
