Island Winds West is a family-friendly beachfront resort that is within walking distance of fine-dining, shopping and concert/festival venues. Some activities include: charter fishing boats, boat & jet ski rentals, Para-sailing, dolphin cruises, sunset sailboat cruises, beautiful back bays for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing, amusement parks, great restaurants with entertainment for all ages, golf, outlet malls, live concerts at The Wharf Amphitheater, and of course, plenty of sugary sand beaches.

Policies:
1. Check in is 4pm | Check out is 10am.
2. No Smoking in condo or on balcony.
3. Pets are NOT allowed.
4. Loud parties or gatherings will not be tolerated.
5. Must be at least 25 years old to rent. For groups of Single Adults, all guests in the group must be at least 25 years of age and proof of age will be required before approving the reservation.

A little chilly the first week in March, but not bad. We got to watch a storm come through. That was kind of cool. The view from our balcony was awesome, and the beach was great for walking. Proximity to restaurants was great too.

Clean condo in great location!

The condo was very clean and in a great location. The beds and furniture were very comfortable. We have 3 children so we wanted to stay right on the beach. It is steps to the beach which made it easy. We walked to the Hangout, Bahama Bobs, souvenir shop, and for ice cream on different nights. We will be back!

Beautiful View

We have stayed at Island Winds West multiple times. This is in the top 3 convenient. Property managment contacted us after check in to make sure the property was as expected . There was one minor maintenance issue with a door (which was not urgent, we were just making them aware of it) but someone came right away to fix it so the door would operate correctly. I appreciated that.

Great Unit for the Price

This was a clean, cute, and comfortable unit. It was just my son and I, but it could easily house the other two members of our family. I will definitely keep this unit in mind for our next visit to Gulf Shores.

Summer vacation

Over all it was an amazing vacation. The condo was in a perfect location, close to everything that we wanted. The only negative about it was the construction going on in the one next to us while we were there. I feel that would be something to maybe inform your guests about before hand. But with us being gone most of the time, it didn't bother us any. The view from the balcony was picture perfect. Most mornings and afternoons we had dolphins swimming by, which was an extra bonus to enjoy watching. There were too many great thjngs to consider what little bad that there was. The vending machine down in the lobby was sold out except for water the whole visit. But when you're eating at amazing local restaurants and enjoying a balcony view like that, you really can't complain about small stuff like that. I'd personally rate it a 9/10, and would recommend it to anyone.

Amazing location & great family atmosphere

Obviously located directly on the beach however even better as it was an extremely minimal walking distance to the beach from the condo. It was so convenient while carrying all of our beach necessities as well as to and/from the pool. It was a great family atmosphere for children. We enjoyed interacting with other families and children.

Nice Location

This unit was alittle smaller than I thought but it worked. I couldn’t find bedding for sofa bed so I called and it took too long so we seen one of the workers and they graciously gave us plenty. Nice location. Staff on premises was very friendly. Loved the option to grill etc

Horrible Property Management

Place was nice however the door code malfunctioned and my family had to wait in the hallway for 45 minutes at 10:30 at night. The emergency maintenance department couldn’t get ahold of maintenance and finally called called us back and told us there was nothing they could do. After forcing the door open due to being locked out for over an hour with young children sitting in the hallway they charged us extra for damages. For the money we spent to stay here we were very disappointed in how it played out.

Exactly what we wanted.

Calm, peaceful, on the beach. Loved going to sleep with the sound of the waves, and waking up to drink coffee on the balcony, watching the sun rise over the ocean. Everything was clean and tidy, exactly as advertised. We went in march and hit the cold snap. They quickly had someone out to put the code into the digital thermostat so we could have heat. Enjoyed our stay.

First time our family of four took a trip to the beach and would return to this condo!!!

Loved this location and all the new renovations. My 3 year old did well with such a short walk to the beach and pool. We were able to walk to shrimp fest and several places to eat dinner, which allowed my husband and I have some adult beverages. Overall amazing stay.

Good Location

Nice decor, great location. Condo was smaller that we thought. Floor was dirty and the beds in the 2nd bedroom need to replaced , we were unable to use the beds due to all the squeaking each time you moved. Would stay at this location again, but not this condo.

Clean unit. Quiet property. Pool well maintained. Walking distance to all the shops and restraunts. Beach access was nice. Unit a little on the smaller side to be 2 bedroom 2 bath but my family of 4 didn't stay in it much other than to sleep. Would def recommend or stay here again.

Summer beach trip

This was my kids first trip to the beach and renting this condo though a little pricey was really easy and right on the beach with plenty of space for us, it was a great trip!
