Property was adorable! Had all that we needed. Good use of space for a smaller home but decorated beautifully. The only issue was overflow parking as we had two cars and a boat trailer. We decided to put the trailer in overflow recommended but that was three miles away further than security said quarter mile. Where we stored though, Mitch and Rich, were great. We would come back again but with one less vehicle
We really liked the location of this rental. It is situated in a quiet community, on the beautiful canal, and close to other things in the area. We did not spend a ton of time at the house due to family events but the property had everything we needed for our short weekend trip. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because of the air conditioning rule. The house rules state you cannot turn the AC down lower than 75 degrees, which is not a comfortable setting.
My Mom lived here at Venture Out 25 years ago. My Mom passed away last year. It was so special to be back here with family at Venture Out during our vacation and celebrate my Mom's memory. Thank you!!
Cute house with wonderful features. Covered deck was a nice place to enjoy a book and meal. The open design of the living room and kitchen made the cottage feel big. The Venture Out community is welcoming. It was an excellent atmosphere to walk and bike in a safe space.
My husband loved fishing everyday and I enjoyed reading. The place was in a perfect location and had most of the comforts of home. There was no cleaning table for the fish big inconvenience and no light available. My issue is the lack of shade on the porch on the comfortable couch. It’s way too hot
Property was just as advertised and looked as nice in person as in ads

Cudjoe key venture out canal front home
This property had a roach infestation issue. When we arrived, there were German cockroaches in the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
There was roach spray in the unit which we continue to spray but the bugs continued to appear.
The unit vents were extremely dirty and rusty.
We decided to move to another home after one night.
Really nice place! Awesome for fishing trip. Great amenities in venture out. They even have a power washer at the boat launch for when you’re done with your boat for your stay. No filet table at house.

Good location, but dirty/rusty bathrooms
We enjoyed the location, but rusty walls and fixtures in the bathrooms made it filthy. There is not enough room to safely walk around the beds. Limiting the amount of ac that we were told we could use made it uncomfortable. The front door didn’t properly lock - we had to use a 2x4 to secure it. Neighborhood maintenance was good, the VRBO’s was poor at best.
Good:
• Great dock for boats. Great access for boating and jet skiing.
• All kitchen appliances worked.
• Comfortable living room
• Good WiFi
• Nice patio/deck
• Good A/C
• Good water pressure and hot water.
Bad:
• Very poorly stocked for kitchen supplies and cooking utensils - no salt and pepper, spices, etc…. Only one spatula that was melted. Limited on garbage bags, dish washer detergent. No separate receptacle for recycling.
• BBQ didn't work. Only a small portion of the element would lite then get blown out by wind
• No strainers in the kitchen sink. Constantly digging out food from the drains so sink would drain.
• Bed rooms were cramped. Constantly stubbing toes and slamming knees into the the side of the bed. Need to watch for the ceiling fan when changing shirts. Hands get hit by the fan if not careful. Also very difficult to get dressed, change clothes, etc…no room
• Bathrooms where cramped.
• Only two small bars of soap provided…hotel size. No shampoo, body wash, etc..
• Front door did not lock. Lock was broken.
• We booked many months in advance and wasn't told about the $125 Venture Out fee until two months before our arrival date
Overall I have found better and cheaper rentals in the Middle Keys. I will not rent this location again.
Resorts was great love the pool and water....home was clean nice bedrooms and baths really small but we just sleep in them. Deck was great. To be in early morning watching sun rise...
We loved how safe we felt in the neighborhood and how the house was on the canal. Great for fishing. The house was also great & cozy ! Didn’t have any issues. Would stay here again !

Nice view
The house itself would have been great if it were cleaner. It also needs more kitchen items to help with cooking. The bedrooms were so small that you would bump toes and knees just trying to get around the bed. One bed was even broken and help up by a couple of 2x4's underneath. View was good, neighbors were great. One bad experience was with parking. They do tell you that only 1 car could park and you would have to use overflow parking, what they don't tell you is overflow parking gets full and you have to find something off site, for more money. checkin was at 3 and overflow parking was taken by 3:20. We had to go 2 miles away to park. This was very inconvenient

Needs some TLC and deep cleaning
Blinds are filthy dirty, bathroom vents needs serios attention. Gross, shower curtain has stsins on it, bathroom walls have rust running down them from the light fixtures, queen bed and pillows are terrible to sleep on, pillows flat, doors missing on cabinets and laying in the closet for as much as you pay to stay there, one would think the property would be better maintenanced and kept up. The porch views were stunning overlooking the water.
I have rented at Venture Out 3 times but this rental has been the BEST stay so far! Look forward to renting this little home away from home again in the future. Everything was perfect! The view in the mornings was beautiful! The family/living/kitchen space was fabulous! Convenience of 2 bathrooms was AWESOME! Highly recommend this rental, you won't be disappointed.
